8 Ji Fei was mad?
The day came for Li Nuan to resume work at the Ji Corporation headquarters. Being a global corporation, Ji Corporations had branches almost everywhere in the world but their headquarters still remained in Country X.
She received a call very early in the morning from Wei Anguo telling her what and what not to do to avoid being suspected by Ji Fei. She also received some threats on what would happen to them should Ji Fei catch a whiff of what they were trying to do. She just had to report every deal the Ji Corporation will sign and every project they'll bid on. Most importantly, what moves they might be trying to make on the Wei technologies.
Li Nuan tried to reason how a company like Wei Technologies could even think of waging war against the Ji corporations. Were they signing up for death? well, it was none of her concern what Wei Anguo wanted to do with the information. she just needed to carry out her own assignments there.
She arrived at the company's headquarters at about 8:45am and was directed to the orientation room where she met another lady sitting like a statue. She wasn't moving nor talking, only her eyes darted around, one could tell she was nervous to death at one glance.
Li Nuan greeted her but the lady only gave a curt nod and nothing more. She looked at Li Nuan with a baffled expression, probably thinking of how the girl could be that calm in such a situation.
Although Li Nuan was a bit nervous, she didn't let it show on her face. It wasn't like she was getting a death sentence, so why should she let herself die of nervousness?
Shortly after, a man that looked like he was in his late twenties with a handsome appearance came in and introduced them. He filled them on the dos and don'ts of the company, their responsibilities and he gave them their business cards and staff IDs before pointing at the other lady with a straight face.
"Miss Xu, You'll come with me now, I'll need to show you round the different departments so you can get familiar with the working environment."
Xu Tangxin nodded her head and stood to follow the man out when Li Nuan's voice rang behind them.
"What about me? "
The other two at the door turned back to look at her and seeing her question made sense, Xu Tangxin turned to look at the man beside her. She was also curious to know why Li Nuan wouldn't be coming with them.
What about me, should I sit here and not go familiarize myself with the working environment and the other departments as well?
Li Nuan asked again with a confused expression on her face.
The man looked at the both of these new recruits with bewilderment. Did he not just read the rules to them? Did they just sit through the orientation with no ears? He clearly mentioned it that private secretaries are always shown around by the president himself!
Feeling frustrated with the curiosity on their faces, he said: "Miss Li, the president will show you around himself " and with that, he left and was followed by a flustered Xu Tangxin
Li Nuan looked like she had been attacked by thunder.
What??? The president himself will show me around? Why? Does he not have a lot on his hands? Is he that free now that he was able to show a mere secretary around the building? Or, has he gone mad?
Li Nuan was still going on with her seemingly unending questions when an employee came in with a box for her.
She opened the box and found an earpiece with an instruction on how to fix it.
Immediately she fixed the earpiece, she heard that familiar cold and frightening voice.
"Welcome to the Ji Corporations Miss Li"
This voice...
Initially, when Li Nuan got the order to carry out this mission, she was already prepared to face whatever it is that might come on. However, after researching and asking about Ji Fei, she realized that she just signed her life away! What if he catches on and kill her, what if he sells her to a prostitute house in Australia, that cold place? so many 'what ifs but no going back anymore.
She braced herself and answered to Ji Fei greetings.
"Thank you Mr Ji"
She was bound to die one day anyway...
