12 The Fall of Lux (Part 3)

(Mira Pov)

My babies. I need my babies to be safe. What about Luke? He'll be fine. He beat me countless of times. He's the strongest Lux of all time.

As I was flying to the town, there was a huge explosion. A mushroom shaped from the smoke formed.

"Nooooooooo!" I cried with all my might.

I know that Dania is with them but I can't erase this feeling of unease in my heart. All the maids in the Lux household are trained to the point of being able to protect the heirs should an incident like this happen. At the very least, their strength is around the level of a high ranked magicians.

When all the dust and dirt subsided, a single building stood in the center. I rushed to the scene and casted the tier four spell : Mana Resonance. It uses air and light magic to detect mana forms or anything that creates its own mana.

Waves of mana are sent in a circular manner to the area of effect. These waves bounce back to me when they hit mana forms. I felt a tug under the ruble of the still standing building.

"My babies! Are you okay? Mommy's here. Its gonna be alright. Everything's gonna be alright." I said while clasping each one of my children's face in my hands. Mal was a bit longer since he's the youngest. I checked for any injuries before casting a healing array on them, just in case something happens.

"We're fine mom. Dania saved us. She casted a barrier just in time before the explosion hit us."

Clasping her hand, I said "Thank you Dania. Although no words may repay what you have done, you have my gratitude. Thank you."

After triple checking that none of them had any injuries, I sent them away with Dania.

"There are twenty people in the West ruble. Go! Save them and get to the lake. Hide there until Luke or I come back. Protect the kids, keep them safe. Be safe Dania."

"Yes mistress. I'll protect them with my life."

They set off. Disappearing from the scene.

Now that the're gone, I can deal with the perpetrator. I blinked to the square where the explosions were still going on. Standing in the middle of all those shit loads of ruble and debre was a corpse.

A lich.

We went off to the west area to search for the remaining survivors. Dania constructed a gravity array that covered the ruble. Stone and dirt alike lifted from the ground. All of the twenty people came out.

"Now what?" Freya said.

"Now we get out" I said while casting a somewhat teleportation spell.

Well I had no choice but to cast teleportation magic. When did I learn it? I just did. It was a bit risky but it was necessary.

I casted gravitaty magic to create magic circles make it collapse in itself to make something like a wormhole. It needs another location set to make it possible but I already explored the whole town earlier thanks to our game tag. So I've got that covered.

Then, I covered ourselves using all the elemental barriers I know of. Usually I would have kept my magical talent for myself but it seems that right now it's not an option that I can take. After that, I made gravity magic form sixty magic circles, thus forming an almost spherical orb made out of magic circles.

The space collapsed in itself. The wormhole door opened. I already made another one at the near lake, the lowest point of the village that I know of. The bridge between the two was finally complete.

"Young master, I would really like to know how you did this... magic portal but now is not the time. Everyone please enter the portal." Dania ordered.

I gestured them to enter first while I constructed a few traps that should be able to rid any of our persuers. Hopefully, at least.

I teleported us to the lowest point of the town which was located near the park. Thankfully we succeeded. Never underestimate the skills of a former highschool boy!

"How the hell did you do that!? " Synthea said half screaming.

"I just did? " I replied, almost asking.

"Now is not the time to fight, we need to contact reinforcements to help mama." Freya interrupted.

"Yeah but how? If we escape right now, the enemy might corner us. Dania, do you have any ideas." Lisa asked.

"I have a communication bracelet with me right now. I could contact the royal palace with it. But alerting them would alert the perpetrators as well. What should we do young masters?" she said while gesturing to her wrist.

A single metallic bracelet covered with runic writings and magic crystals appeared out of nowhere. It seemed to fit her perfectly. Hou it had a invisibility trait? No wonder I couldn't see it before.

In front of us laid a lake. Clear waters filled with water life should be seen but instead it was the exact opposite. The water was murky, fish and frogs alike were floating on the surface, the air smelled pungent with a tint of death. It seems like someone summoned a graveyard into the lake.

In the middle of the so called lake stood a single entity. I don't even know how he managed to stay afloat although it doesn't seem like he's swimming.

Suddenly he raised his hand pointing his palm to our direction. I could feel a huge amount of mana gathering at his palm.

Oh shit.

Author's note : sorry I'm still adjusting to writing more than one chapter a day. I promise to try harder.
