127 Despicable?

Katrina's face paled as her restless eyes popped open with visible red veins. She rushed to the bars and tried grabbing Rosanna. As her arm reached out between two bars, her fingers wiggled like worms rising from dirt. "No! You can't do this to Shirley! She's my child! She's already dying! Let her go in peace! How despicable can you get?"

"Despicable? Part those lips and say it once more. I dare you. You kidnapped my daughter for twenty-three years and mistreated her like a slave. Have you ever thought of her as someone else's child? She also has a mother who loves her dearly while you tortured her. Have you ever considered her mother's feeling? No, you haven't. So, why should I consider yours?"

Katrina wailed as she pleaded pitifully. "But she's already suffering like this! What else do you want from her? Everything is my fault, so spare her. Come at me. I know what comes around goes around, so let me pay for my actions. You can kill, chain and torture me. Just don't touch her."

"At least you know what comes around goes around means. So, you could understand basic English after all. I am extremely fair right now. You tormented my daughter, so I will return this favor to you. Speaking of which, no matter how many times you claim your daughter innocent, it won't make her any less guilty. Her schemes were worse than yours."

Rosanna tilted her head to the side, making eye contact with Bryan. Nodding, Bryan walked towards her direction. Once his steps came to a stop, he stared at Katrina with emptiness.

"Let's put her childhood experiences aside for a moment. did you forget the bug you installed in the phone you gift to me? Did you forget how you teamed up with Shirley to mislead Peter into believing Selina's betrayal? Because of your daughter's scheme and your stupidity, Selina drowned to the brink of suicide. How could you call Shirley innocent?"

Katrina couldn't believe her ears. Her son was standing in front of her, helping others testify against her and not showing efforts to save her. Stuttering greatly, Katrina tried explaining with excuses.

"It's not like that! I owe it to your sister. She didn't have me by her side. She suffered and only wanted to take back what was hers. Peter belonged to her and Selina should've known her place when I told her to cancel the engagement with him. Selina can't take away anything that belonged to Shirley!"

Scoffing on the side, Rosanna hugged Selina's shoulder and rubbed her back. "Why? Because you thought Selina was a Han? Because you were delusional enough to think your daughter deserved the world? Because she told you someone else's man belonged to her? Let me tell you this. My daughter Selina is a Clover. In fact, Selina never needed to compete with your daughter because she has been the winner. Even if there was a contest, Shirley wouldn't have been a worthy contestant."

"You two have won everything already! I'm the one who started this whole thing. So, why? Why are you doing this? What is wrong with believing my daughter deserves the universe? Even if she tells me the earth is flat and the moon doesn't exist, I'll still believe it! If she says the moon is the reflection of radiation from the sun shining back to the sun, I'll still believe it!"

Katrina sounded like a loud speaker echoing screeches of nails scratching against chalkboards. Her voice made everyone want to cover their ears as she complained how perfect Shirley was as her daughter. Once she had finished lifting Shirley to the sky, Selina spoke in a clear voice.

"Then what about me? She's the perfect daughter when she disrespected you and treated you like crap. And me? I worked my hardest and did everything I can to please you. Even if you thought I was a Han and hated Tracy Han, how could you not hold any feelings for someone you raised for twenty-three years? How could you be so cruel?"

Pointing her finger towards the cell where Shirley laid on the stone ground. Selina continued speaking, "You lifted her like a pearl in your palms and stepped on me like dirt. Peter used to be my fiancé, but thank you for taking him away. That scheme she pulled showed how loyal and trusting he was. I never knew how fragile our relationship was until Shirley happened."

Hugging Rosanna's arm, Selina calmed her stirring emotions. "Also, I must say how grateful I am. Because of the two of you, I met my current husband who dotes on me. If it weren't for you guys, I wouldn't be Mrs. Hui. I wouldn't have known what true happiness means. So, thank you for all the schemes. Initially, I had many restraints on what to say in front of my parents. Now, I have no reasons to hold back."

With a small smile on her face, she held her mother's hands. "Mom, dad, didn't you want to know about how I lived through twenty-three years with this monster? Let me tell you the countless winters she made me wash her laundry with bare hands in cold water. She refused to let me use the washing machine because her clothes were too delicate. I had to clean the house every day, and she would find every corner with a particle of dust to complain about me."

"When I made dishes for dinner, she would toss it in the trash saying it was salty or too bland. Then, I would be forced to remake every dish until it tasted right to her. Often, she would eat more than she could handle so no food was left for me to bring for work. Every month, I earned around two thousand dollars but only keep a hundred dollars to myself. The rest belonged to her."

Rosanna tightly squeezed her daughter's hand as anger burst from her insides. Still, she patiently waited for Selina to finish describing life with this disgusting witch. Just like that, Selina continuously described the living conditions with Katrina and how manipulated she felt.

Releasing a loud exhale, Selina smiled. "Finally, she pushed me to commit suicide. All I wanted was a praise but I never got one. Now, I don't need nor want one because she isn't my mother. Now, everything makes more sense."

Eric and Jason's knuckles turned white from their tightened fists. They walked over to Selina after she had finished her complaints. Before she could ask any questions, Selina found herself sandwiched between her parents and Jason's suffocating embrace.

Waving her arms out, she gasped. "C..Can't breathe!!! Bro..Help!"

On the other hand, Michael had already taken out his whip and entered Shirley's cell with a dark expression. He lifted his arm, ready to attack Shirley. Suddenly, he felt a warm hand holding him back. When he looked to his side, he saw Aaron shaking his head.

"Use this instead." Aaron held a bucket of baseballs in his hands.

Raising his brow, Michael looked again and found his whip too violent. He must let her die slowly. Baseballs are roughly round and the impact could lead to painful blood clots if thrown properly.

With a smirk on his face, he began throwing baseballs at Shirley. Each hit aimed at her wrists and ankle areas. Gradually, the heavy hits resulted in dislocated joints.

Whimpers and agonizing groans escaped Shirley's dry throat, but Michael ignored her. As he continued slamming baseballs on her joints, Katrina watched from a distance and cried out painfully.

"No!! No!!! Please don't!!" Katrina banged her head against the metal bars as she witnessed each hit.
