He starts washing his ingredients then he seasons the chicken and piles the potato cubes and puts them in a pot adds water then puts it on the stove and puts it to cook.

(Skipping rest of preparation)

He comes and sits next to me on the stool and says "Well, that will be done in fifteen mins." I nod and pick up a slice of apple and put it into my mouth.

Emma P.O.V

When the oven bell rings notifying us that the chicken was done I stood up and headed to the kitchen and sit down Ian takes out the chicken and rests it on the counter when he says "Emma could you go and wash up the bathroom is down the hall to the right."

I nod and head in that direction I open the door to the bathroom and look around wow his bathroom is more beautiful than mine how the hell is this fair maybe I should get the bathroom renovated yep need to do that.

I wash my hands and then dry them in the towel next to the sink I look in the mirror and remember how I used to wear a lot of makeup that was bright and colourful when I was younger now look at me no longer that eccentric teenager anymore.

I turned into this weak and stupid aunt without even noticing looking at me now I can see where that girl went and ever came back, but it's time for her to go back.

Ian nods and starts eating while I sit and take a bite the potato literally melted in my mouth, and I couldn't stop the sound of delight coming from me Ian says "Wow is it that good?"

I nod and stuff my mouth that's when my phone rings as I do a little dance instinct kicks in I answer it without looking who is calling.

I say "Hello! " he says "Emma isn't you being a little too much how could you invite her over to our apartment you should have talked to me before doing something like this."

I didn't even bother to answer I hang up and shut down my phone; Who does this jerk think he is? You wait, I need to think about this first.

Ian finished eating and says "Well, I need to head back to work."

Oh yeah, I am at his place. I stand up and say "Well, I best be going!"

Ian says "Emma you don't need to leave relax here make yourself at home, I will be back by six there are snacks in the fridge and alcohol in my room the last door is on the right. See you later!"

Isn't he weird who trusts a total stranger in their house even if they previously knew each other for all he knows I could be a serial killer and he would be my next victim but thanks Ian without you I would be doing something idiotic right now?

I got up and went to his room to find it rather neat wow even my room isn't this put away what a smart man I spot the case with wine by the closet but what typical person stores wine in their bedroom?

I pick up a bottle went to the kitchen, got a glass then headed back to the living room and poured myself a drink.

Then a took a sip and went into deep thought of what I would do I am going to make them pay for making a fool out of me Toby you asshole you wait.

Sip after sip till the bottle finished I lay back on the couch and closed my eyes then fell asleep.

Ian's P.O.V

Emma is inside my house right now I have to hurry and finish up these documents then I can head back quickly to her to believe that she is actually in my house right now.

(An hour later)

I was halfway done and getting more anxious did she leave why did I forget to ask for her number idiot now how will you call her, okay I need to focus on finishing the work calm down.

(Three hours later)

I finally finished my work lean back then pick up my jacket and bag then headed out better hurry home hopefully she is still there well I did leave work rather early today usually I stay very late in the night because I am always helping someone with their work or doing their job, but now I have something rather notable to do.

So I headed to the elevator and got on when I got a text from my boss.

Mr Jong "Ian, did you leave?"

Ian "Yes, sir is there some you need!"

Mr Jong "Yes, can you pick up my wife at the airport?"

WTF

Ian "Okay sir, what time does the flight land?

Mr Jong "For five! thanks a lot."

Why does the world have it out for me today well better hurry up wait what about the flight detail which gate am I supposed to wait by that's when another text comes in telling me where to go I press the elevator button and head to the parking lot?

(Two hours later)

I finally arrived home to find the house in complete darkness did she leave I look down and see her heels right there I smile and head inside I turn on the lights as I go in that and I see her sleeping on the couch.

Relief fills me. I head to my room and change my clothes after taking a shower I head to the kitchen and start making us dinner a stake should be fine.

After I finished cooking I started cutting it up for her, and then I went to call her for dinner

I say gently as I lightly shake her "Emma wake up!"

Her eyes open and stock me to my very core.
