PROLOGUE

"I've told you before. 'No' means 'No'. Do you even understand what is a 'No'? How many times should I tell you!?"

It was the first time Zhen MingYa lashed out at her daughter. She was clearly pissed off with her second daughter, Wang Yi Mei. Her expression was full of disdain.

Wang Yi Mei was stunned momentarily. She has never expected that her mother would lash out at her. She became agitated. She looked at Wang Yi Ling, who sat on the couch with her begging eyes. She really couldn't give up hope to persuade their mother to let her continued her love life although they will soon being apart from each other due to their careers.

Wang Yi Ling lowered her head and sighed heavily, feeling totally helpless. She had long contemplated when Wang Yi Mei brought up the matter. She knew the reason their mother showing so much objection towards long-distance relationship between Wang Yi Mei and her boyfriend, Li Qiang.

To Zhen MingYa, a long-distance relationship has never had guaranteed a stable relationship between two hearts. To her, it was equal with non-existence in one's heart. So, what was the point to love someone that was world apart? Where's happiness in it?

Wang Yi Ling knew that her mother never wanted the same thing happened to her and Wang Yi Mei like what had happened to her eldest sister, Wang Yi Su.

Five years ago, everything was perfect for Wang Yi Su when she married to her dream man and lead a perfect life: money and fame, until a year ago, when she came back to mansion with tear-stained face and her two offspring. Her ex-husband had decided to give up their perfect marriage for a mere assistant when he was abroad and lead an infidelity life.

"Mom... Please. I love Li Qiang. Give me a chance to prove to you." Wang Yi Mei still trying to persuade her mother. Zhen MingYa glared at her.

"Chance?" Zhen MingYa smirked.

"Yes, chance. Li Qiang only be gone three months the most and come back to company after that. I can wait for him." Wang Yi Mei said, full of hope that Zhen MingYa will see the depth of her love and this, support her no matter what.

"Three months? You said three months?" Zhen MingYa's eyes widen in disbelief.

"Do your guarantee that his three-months duration will not drag to a year or two? Yi Mei, listen to me. It's not that I don't want to support you, but come to think of it, is it worth your beauty and time to wait for something that is not certain?" Wang Yi Mei became speechless upon listening to Zhen MingYa's long banter. It sounded harsh, but there was a hint of reality.

Wang Yi Ling who sat quietly on the couch pondered her mother's word of wisdom. Deep in her heart she was agreed with Zhen MingYa. Uncertainty leads to destruction in one relationship.

"But mom..."

"No Yi Mei, no but. It's either you break up with Li Qiang this instant, or you face the consequences. It's easy. You decide." Zhen MingYa hold Wang Yi Mei's hand before she sighed. She felt a pang of helplessness that her daughters still were too young to understand. If possible, she wanted all her daughters to stay within her sight. Only then she could protect them.

" Sis, why don't you listen to our mom? Give it some time. I think your decision is a bit too rush," Wang Yi Ling calmly said.

"I love Li Qiang, and so does he. We could work this out. Trust me." Wang Yi Mei stubbornly to stand on her point. She grabbed Zhen MingYa's hand. Wang Yi Long darted her eyes nervously from Zhen MingYa and Wang Yi Mei.

"Yi Mei! Mark my word. You will regret this decision of yours! Don't you ever come to me with tears on your cheek when everything goes wrong in your relationship if you persist. I will not stop you now. It's your call. So do whatever you want!" With that, Zhen MingYa stormed off from the living room towards main door, without looking back.

Wang Yi Ling stood and walked slowly to Wang Yi Mei and patted on her shoulder.

" Sis, I think you really should give it a thought. After all, mom loves us that she doesn't want to let her daughters to experience yet another heart wrenching love life like our Yi Su. So, please, think of it." She tried to persuade Wang Yi Mei to give up her idea of persistent with her current love affair.

"I was wondering who's the one that caused Yi Su left by her ex-husband," Wang Yi Mei muttered. Wang Yi Ling was taken aback. When she reminisced all those years, it was clearly because of their mother and late father, who had prevented Wang Yi Su to follow her ex-husband to overseas. If only... But things happened. To regret everything technically was too late. Wang Yi Ling bit her lower lip.

"Sis, still it best if you think about this again," Wang Yi Ling still trying to persuade her sister. Wang Yi Mei snorted.

"Yi Ling, you don't understand. Anyway, I was wondering, what exactly mom wants us to do? To become an exquisite accessory? A vase? Or a stool? Goodness! I really can't stand all this anymore!" She lamented unhappily. Wang Yi Ling who was having a sip of her tea spurted out. She looked at her sister, speechless.

"Well, there's nothing I can say. Maybe you should be patient. it's not like you don't know mom," Wang Yi Ling casually said.

" Patient you said? Huh! No, I can't Yi Ling. You'll never understand it. Wait till you meet someone special and experience what I experience now! Only then we'll talk about it! " Then, she walked off to her room, slammed the door, leaving Wang Yi Ling stunned momentarily. When she regained her senses, she smiled bitterly. If someday...
