1 HIS NEW BEGINNING?

"Can you take back what you've said once it escapes your tongue? Can you take back a punch you've thrown at someone, whom you once considered as a friend? Can you ever...take back a confession that ruined what you held dear, and destroyed everything?

Can you ever outrun your past or come to terms with it? If there was a reset button, would you hit that instantly?"

What's this? This voice feels familiar yet distant. Who are you?

I can see something...

"I was supposed to be alone".

"But why?"

"Why am I not alone?"

That's what I questioned myself.

Is that me? Wait.....

.....

Alarm buzzing...

Birds chirping...

...

"WHAT WAS THAT?!Was that a dream or a premonition?"

Whatever, let's go, or I'm gonna be late. Let's switch off this clock first. What a pain!

.....

The first day of High School is supposedly very special to everyone. A clean slate from middle school, where you meet new people, befriend them and make many memories, I guess? Not that I would know or bother about any of that stuff, with the reputation that precedes me.

"But, does all of that hold true to a transfer student? "

As I was thinking about it, I noticed that I was about to use my old uniform.

"What a hassle? Ugh!".

I took out my new uniform and placed it on my bed, got everything set.

"This uniform ain't half bad?"

It was a typical high schooler's uniform, a pair of blue trousers, a pair of white shirts, and a blue coat. Oh, right! I almost forgot about the tie.

I'm still clumsy.

"What are you doing?!"

There was a sharp harsh tone coming near the entrance to my room. The owner of the voice was my younger brother.

"Hurry up! I want to reach school on time and distance myself from you. Why did I have to get involved in this?!"

The door was slammed shut with such force, I'm surprised it's still intact.

Well, that's him alright. Even though I'm the elder sibling, I think he has every right to detest me.

Alright! Dress up complete.

″Yes!First day of high school. "(Again)

Wait, even elementary kids don't say that these days. What's wrong with me?

As I'm heading downstairs, I could hear my parents exchanging their routine goodbyes to each other. But, why is dad leaving so early today?

As I turn around from the stairs and head towards the front door, I could see my dad's car parked in front of the road.

"Do your best, I'm sure everything will work out".

That's a doting mother for you.

"I will try".

A typical good kid response.

As they were hugging each other, they noticed my presence and reverted back to normal. My brother then hopped into the car, while I was on my way to get my shoes.

"Don't try to create any more trouble and stay away from him, at school, if you know what's good for him and you. Also, your lunch is on the kitchen table today. Make sure to wake up early and cook for yourself from tomorrow".

"Sure. How about you lend me some money and I'll be sufficed with the cafeteria?"

"Don't push your luck. You should be grateful that you're still living under a roof and have meals to eat. Cherish it while you can."

"Yeah? I could swear this is the first time I'm ever getting something from you since middle school. And it's not like I want to be a freeloader in this home."

This was also a typical mother and son conversation. As I was overstepping the boundaries, a hand moved fast in my direction and grabbed my collar.

"Don't try to act smart around here, you convict. You should have been in prison right now if it wasn't for her. You're just a disgrace to us. Hurry up and graduate and move out already. What an eyesore you are!"

"Eyesore? huh...."

As I wanted to say something, the words wouldn't come out, and rightfully so, I am a disgrace.

"What? You want me to repeat that again?"

There was no hesitation there.

I just picked up my shoes and wore them, and just walked past them.

"I'm taking the train if you're curious and I'm using aunt's family name, so there won't be a problem to your dear prince!"

I leered at both my parents and then give a look at my sibling and just walked away.

"You ungrateful bast...."

Here goes in the walkman and there goes out the voice of that old man.

"Thank you, SONY ."

I sighed and took a deep breath. What a pain.

I reached the station while pondering about abstract and useless thoughts.

Morning rush-hour subway, I hate it, but welp, can't help it.

As I boarded the crowded train and found myself a seat, lucky , I resumed listening to my music.

Aunt huh? It's been a long time I remembered her. I wonder what she's doing right now.

Thinking about my aunt reminded me of the bittersweet memories I had with her. Time passed by and I finally reached my destination. I got down from the train and made my way out to the busy streets filled with many students and employees who were on their way to work.

I pulled out my coat and wore it properly and started going behind a group of students who had the same uniform.

It was spring season and anyone could feel that. The pleasant air was ever so soothing.

As I was following this group, they took a turn ahead, and so did I, and, I was totally mesmerized.

The pavement was filled with Cherry blossom trees on either end, and you could feel the sea breeze, it was a very special feeling. I felt like a KING.

I took my time enjoying the moment and reached my new place of hell, I mean school.

"So, this is my new school. Hirafuki High School."
