1 Originality is not my forte

My name is Kai, I'm 17 and am in my last year of highschool, I live on my own and induldge most of my free time by playing video games especially with the Vrmmo that came out a couple years ago.

I'm currently ranked 1 in the game and I've never lost a fight and never died in the game, hell every time I log in there is a horde of people outside my kingdom trying to destroy it and take over but the fact is to complete a siege on my kingdom they would have to all continuously attack for 3 days straight to finally break past the walls, mostly due to the strength of the wall that I made with a very strong artifact, it was a one time use item that allows for the user to create a wall that has incredibly high durability, but even if they did attack for 3 days straight and get past it, they also have to worry about the guards who are all max level as well and even if they end up getting past all this they still have to deal with my pet dragon, who used to be the final boss of the mmo but as a gift for being the first to defeat him as well as doing it solo I ended up getting his egg and I raised the baby into god like being. He was so strong that the next group who defeated the boss numbered over 500 people all the top players on the rankings as well. But he is even stronger now due to another world artifact I got that allowed me to break the level cap of one pet.

But if they somehow got through all of this they would have to get past the final obstical, me and dear god was i op, why am I so strong you ask??? Oh well it's very simple actually.... Luck yes I know how cliche but really this game is very reliant on how you start, all the players start in a random place in the world, (I read this in a novel before forgot the name of it but found it pretty interesting) and that means you could even start next to a dying god who gifts you with his legacy and powers. Oh yeah by the way that's what happened, I spawned right next to the god of stats, oh yeah so guess what power I got from him.... the power to change my motherfuckin stats bro, yeah hella broken I know, only limit was that I needed a certain ammount of mana to change it like if i wanted to change my strength from 10 to 100 I would need to spend 90 mana to do so, but my luck was truly amazing, this damn god had a ring on his dead body that guess what, had infinite fuckin mana, you wanna know the first thing I did??? Changed my mana to infinite, oh man truly a broken start I mean come on how is this even fair when that happened I was truly wondering if someone was writing a novel about me or some shit man.

But anyway so that happened and I was very broken, and also don't think that changing stats is only limited to strength etc, no it was everything in my stats I could change, which meant I could change my titles, level, name, age, I can even change the stats of items, players, npcs, and more but.. I didn't, honesty where's the fun in that so I simply changed all my stats to normal and continued playing the game, why you ask hmm simple I wanted to have fun and didn't want to ruin everything for everyone else, but I did use it every now and then like when I was about to die or even when someone pist me off enough for me to set their stats to 0 and even cursed them with a title that made every npc kill them on site, ha the bastard deserved it though he said I was probably ugly in real life due to my characters' godly looks, ha bastard like you would know hmph.. well anyway I really was just really lucky the whole time I played the game I got really good items and loot and I never died and always was the first to get things done which helped me getting stronger and getting better gear than everyone. But of course there came the point I got bored of the game after beating it, so I made myself a little op started a kingdom wasted all my artifacts and settled down. It was peaceful and I enjoyed the view. Awww but the great and peaceful times quickly came to an end.

I woke up feeling off, I quickly sat up and realized I was in the middle of a forest, my mind started to race but it was much quicker than before and instantly I looked at my hands and realized this wasn't my body, wait no it is my body but not my real body, it's the same body from the game...

bam instant realization and acceptance, hmm so this is what these stats do. Interesting, but I quickly needed a plan this is a world where some people are capable of peeking at peoples stats and currently if anyone saw my stats I would immediately be praised as a god. I'm gonna take a guess here and assume I was one of if not the only sent here. I can immediately guess that by the location I started in, it's pretty average in an isekai where only one character is sent. So Makes sense, next thing I should do is quickly change into one of my builds, in the game I realized I could do a lot with stats changer even add new options. I ended up adding a build setting and I was able to make multiple different characters with different builds. They all had different looks and inventories as well as different stats. So now to choose what kind of isekai protagonists I want to be. Now a lot of people would think me crazy for accepting so quickly but when you really think about it this isn't the sort of thing that can be mistaken for a dream and as soon as someone is in the same situation they would realize that, the only difference is some people might go crazy or be in denial. But due to my stats and skills I immediately was able to analyze everything and calm myself. Now I could change into a character that doesn't have those same skills which could cause some side effects which I wouldn't enjoy.

So I immediately opted for one of my cool headed and calm characters I made, that left me with my Hero, Monk, Sage, or Assassin. Now all are good options but they all have downsides, I mean sure I can play all of them at some point but the simple fact is why would I? I already have a feeling they are all very strong and probably unmatched here so no need to be too strong. So time to analyze, so Hero this choice would be good if it wouldn't immediately give me tons of fame and make everyone rely on me I mean I really don't even fit the hero type so this is an immediate nope, next Monk. HELL NO, why oh easy i would be bald sure I could change that but that would be a sac reliege man totally not cool in my book, next Sage also immediate no I would be hella old and guess what?? I ain't no old man, sure I could make the character young and simply be like hmm he is actually old but is young forever!!! But fuck that!! what kinda Sage doesn't have bad ass long hair and beard greyed out like come on guys I'm not a psycho here Jesus.

Now that leaves me with Assassin, only one down side to this class and that is I would be impassive to killing people sure not too bad but I don't like being a psycho but I guess I would have to kill people at some point anyway so why not choose a class where I wouldn't throw up afterwards?? The character is also very attractive with black hair and eyes, the clothing is simple black clothing with a long coat pretty nice looking but nothing too fancy since he's a fuckin assassin, anyway he uses shadow magic, daggers, throwing knives, a katana, this character was decked out in skills and stats perfect for it, it was max level and if it was my main character in the game it probably would've been ranked from 2-5 on the rankings. Of course the people in the top ten are very strong but the only players who stand a chance against any of my alt builds would be the people in the top 5 they all had very strong and unique builds, they all also had a trump card that made them very strong, but they all are trash compared to my god main. But anyway with this assassin build I could easily make it to top 5 after that it would be down to who would be a good match against my character of course light builds would be an even fight so it would depend on skill so I would most likely win, Max, the number 3 player would be the most difficult, he was a Tank now normally this wouldn't be a problem but the bastard has a unique artifact that nullifys sneak attacks and reflects them back onto the attacking player, so a direct fight with him would be very difficult to win, and since I don't know the limit of it I would just have to try and outlast him in the fight which against a tank doesn't sound like fun at all. But other than him I have a fair chance against them all, and these are all players that are capable of single handedly taking on a whole army all on their own hell when they all team up I wouldn't be surprised if they could defeat the final boss on their own. But that is their limit.

So it's decided Assassin build... I then clicked the Assassin build and immediately after, I felt a change in my body, I also noticed the small smile on my face from before quickly faded into a straight face, I also was able to feel all the shadows and darkness around me, and I also felt a very deep connection to my weapons. The only reason I didn't feel this before was because every item or skill I used in my god character is below him nothing can perfectly pair with that character other than the ring and I have long since stoped needing it or even putting it on.

Now time to explore a bit, now if this follows the average isekai a couple things could happen next, one I hear a scream and save a damsel in distress that leads me to town and falls for me, ehh not a big fan of that one way to average for me if I hear a girl scream I'm walking away.. damn my changing characters really does change my personality a bit oh well it is what it is. Now two I find a random sword that is a hero sword or demon sword and it ask me to take it out and then ask me to do some stupid shit like save everyone or kill everyone, ehhh not a fan either my weapons are all I need any other weapon can wither in a hole. Ahem next number threeeeee, I'm in a forest where very high level monsters reside and no humans come here due to them being a bunch of worthless pussies, hmm not bad I would see the levels of the strongest monsters in this world and also get some training in, this truly seems like the best option now let's just hope that whoever sent me here knows my taste.

I walked around for a while and finally found a monster and damn son that's one big ass troll man but also really ugly.. welp let's inspect this big fat bastard and see if I really did get the third option.....

Hmm not bad only a hundred levels from max level so I think I did get number three nice, well this should be fun this can also help me test to see if the level cap exist here too.

"Ok let's get killing" a sinister smile fills my face, the first time my face changes and it's because I want to kill something oh great I know this might cause a lot of issues in the future oh well I kinda like it a bit edgy.

I quickly dispersed into the shadows, it's currently midnight so it's the perfect time for me to wreck their shit, I then quickly appeared in the air behind the neck of the big fucker and quickly took out my katana and cut the trolls head off. Hmm that was easy

Hmm ok i leveled up 12 times is it just me or is that too much for a monster below my level, hmmm ohhh, right I got the ring that multiples my xp gained by 100 I forgot to take it off after I stopped power leveling him up since it looked pretty nice, anyway I guess I now know I can level up past the normal cap. Hmm ok that's nice I suppose but that might mean stronger enemies, either that or it's unique to me. Either way I don't mind while an assassins favorite thing is a one hit kill I also enjoy a decent fight, but I ain't gonna complain either way if I really want a tough fight and leveling past the limit is unique to me I'll just lower my stats or something. Well now that I got all this sorted out I guess I can explore this forest for a while, and at the same time I can kill all the monsters and grind some levels. I'm also thinking of trying to learn a new magic all on my own but that is something that I can leave for later.

I've been exploring for a while and I've went from level 1012 to level 1246 it's a good amount of levels and with my ring it's no surprise really, but it seems like the cap for the monsters here really is level 1000 sadly but I can say that the monsters that are level 1000 are actually pretty fun to fight, well sure I could've instantly killed em but still I enjoyed the fights with em for a while. I also decided to finally create a map skill since I know it will be useful, so I quickly opened the map.

So it would seem this world isn't exactly the same, it might have similar monsters but I also met monsters that weren't in the game, it also turns out that the landscape is different as well, it's the same size as earth but the map is different, in the game it was the same as earth, but now it's completely different, and it seems this forest is huge, I mean this forest is almost as big as China. It also seems that I'm right slap in the middle of it, not complaining but I'll have to use some of my skills to quickly get out of here and reach civilization, there is one kingdom near the outside of the forest it's about 100 miles away from the forest but it's still the closest place to the forest hell their ain't another village or kingdom in any direction until you hit the 200 mile distance from it. Anyway the kingdom is called Peruven, and it is a pretty large kingdom they are due north from my position so I guess that's where I'll head. I could grind some more levels but nah, I feel like trying to learn some magic on my own, while I could just create the skill that doesn't sound like fun, this character has a low affinity for all elements which means I can use them and train them all to perfection, the only thing is that I never felt like using em. So now I decided to pick an element and train it on my own.

After a couple minutes of deciding I chose wind, it's easily the best choice for a assassin in fact when I started this character the main element I wanted to use was between shadow or wind, why wind and not lightning?? Simple the uses of wind far out weights lightning. Anyway wind would complement my character very well, it would also allow me to cut off all ways to sense me even if someone was capable of sensing the change in air in a certain location it wouldn't matter due to my wind magic, but it is a bit useless due to my shadow magic completely out classing it in every way possible god just being able to become a shadow was op as fuck especially for an assassin. But I think it would first off allow me to fly, secondly allow me to move much faster. To put it simply I liked its versatility and the oh so many uses of it. It's also not as flashy as lighting so that's a bit plus for an assassin.

I started off with sensing my surroundings, once I did so I focused on the wind, once done I focused on the mana inside the wind, this all came easy to me, I then moved it into my body and let it get a solid form inside my chest, once done I breathed in and opened my eyes. Ok not a bad start now I can constanly replenish my supply of wind mana, but it's truly a pitiful size when compared to my shadow mana, I mean damn that bitch was now coursing through my whole body like a river, I hope I can get to that stage with my wind magic at some point. I then tried to bring some wind mana into my hand and then into my pointer finger, once done I consintrated it into the tip of my finger and then pushed it out quickly.

A sudden burst of wind came out of my finger and struck a tree, I noticed a small hole in the tree that went about 3 inches deep, not bad at all that could be very lethal already man maybe I am a little to gifted at this.

Hmm good to know that it still works properly well I already guessed it would be, but still it's reassuring to get more confirmation. Well I guess I'll continue to the kingdom while taking out the monsters with my new wind magic.

Ahh finally made it to the edge of the forest could've gotten here earlier but I took my time by using my wind magic and taking out all those monsters.

My wind affinity is now at high and I learned a couple more wind spells, like (Wind Slice), (Wind Teleport), (Wind Speed), and my favorite (Wind Implosion). Wind implosion was a crazy bastard it could cause the air inside anything to quickly expand destroying everything in its range. This was especially insane when I used the air inside the body of a monster which caused a very bloody mess. I don't see myself using it often but damn was it cool.

Now I guess I can head to the kingdom without delay now, ill approach it as fast as I can without getting detected and then I will slow down and approach the gates. Simple enough, hmm but I have a feeling if they see me approach from this direction they will be suspicious Hmm I guess depending on the surroundings I can go around quietly and then back off a bit and approach, I ain't like yo average protagonist I ain't dumb enough to come from the direction of the most dangerous place in the world that even kingdoms are afraid to get too close!!!

Welp time to execute my plan time to infiltrate the kingdom and see what this world has to offer me.

Hmm so as I suspected security is very tight on the side of the kingdom facing the forest, but it was simple enough to sneak past them I mean come on man the max level here is legit level 68 like bro if I got found out by a level 68 as a level 1547 Assassin with shadow and wind magic I might as well just end my life then and there. Anyway it was pretty early in the morning and the sun rises from north here, so it worked out perfectly I merged with the shadows and snuck around the outskirts of the kingdom, also the terrain around here is greenlands along with a couple small forest around, it's a little bit hilly but not too much it also seems that the side facing the forest there isn't much other than guard outpost, but as soon as I got away from that side I saw a couple farm lands and houses not many though.

I finally ended up on the north side of the walls, and then I saw the road to the entrance of the city, so I went a bit further north over a hill and then went on the road and begun my approach, I lowered my hood and then activated my discrete stats skill, this skill isn't useful in the game but here it's very useful sure I could just change em but this saves me from the effort, it makes it so when people inspect me it shows only 1 tenth of my stats and skills, so I will show up as a level 154 I believe, never was good at math so might be wrong anyway, hopefully this would be enough for respect and for them to not try and bully me or something dumb. But honestly I doubt many have the inspect skill though so this might be useless.

I was slowly approaching the gates to the city, and then I remembered I might need currency to enter, and I ain't dumb enough to offer them some loot from the monsters from the forest. So a couple options here, I could use some of my currency in my inventory or I could take a level 10 dagger and sell it to them. But this is where the issue pertains, the currency i dont know if it is worldwide or nation wide, but I could risk it and see how they react, or I could sell the dagger and see how much it's worth and the currency of this place. But then there is the issue of is the quality of this level 10 dagger abnormal? I know since it's from the game it might be seen as a very high quality level 10 weapon, if so they might assume me to be a rich person and might sus me out. But there is a chance there isn't a fee or a chance they will allow me to pay it off after seeing my weapons or level. Wait oh Jesus I almost made a crucial mistake, my weapons Jesus I'm a real air head man how could I almost forget I'm using level 1000 weapons all of the highest quality. Ok that needs to change and fast.

I quickly swapped out all my weapons for level 50 weapons. Jeez can't believe I almost did that, ok I think I'm all set, my clothing doesn't have a level or special things due to me already changing even before I approached jeez I remembered to do that but not my weapons god is this connection to my weapons a blessing or a curse. Anyway time to finish my approach and gain entry into the city.

I slowly approached and the four guards at the gate who were talking to each other before finally noticed me, but during that moment before they noticed I saw one of the guards playing with what looked like a silver coin, I quickly used inspect and praise the lord it's the same currency from the game thank you kind guard for slacking off on your job now I have no need to worry.

"Halt there sir, please state your name and business" one of the four guards yelled out to me

I quickly stopped and replied calmly. "My name is Kai, I am an adventurer and I would simply like to enter the city and find an inn to get some rest I've been traveling all night."

The guard looked at me and squinted he then noticed the katana on my side and seemed to nod at the others.

"You may approach but please keep your hand away from your katana for now, also the entry cost to the city is 1 silver sir." They then motioned me to approach and I did so. The other three guards are on alert of me while the guard who talked was a bit tense, I'm guessing the nod was a way to tell them to be on alert until they confirm I mean no harm smart to not let down their guard immediately after hearing my intentions I can now see why these people are the only ones ballsy enough to be this close to the forest, they are smart their training must've been quite good. It seems this guard was also a high level well in their sense he was a level 70 even stronger than the guy on the south side Hmm that's strange. Maybe during the mornings it's a different lead guard hmm makes sense the night guards are probably much stronger, I'm guessing from level 70 to 120, possibly higher.

I then grabbed a silver coin from my inventory and handed it to the guard, who nodded at me and stepped aside.

"By the way adventurer just so you know you should keep a close eye on your sword there has been a couple thieves going around stealing from people sleeping at the inns, but you shouldn't have to be wary for long, the Princess and her army should be back in a day so the normal guards will be back. Now the inn is straight ahead once you reach the fountain it's to the right of it you couldn't miss it." I nod at him and he does the same

I then walked through the roads and made my way through the city, it wasn't that busy yet but there was a pretty good ammount of people the races here also varied quite a bit.

"Captain was he really strong enough for you to treat him that kindly?" Guard 3 asked

"Yeah I've never seen you take the initiative to approach the people approaching and even helping and giving advice???!! You aren't our captain are you an Imposter!!" The captain then hit the guard on the head making them all shut up quickly

"Ahh there he is!! the scary demon captain!!!" They all say in delight

"Ahh your all a bunch of idiots, you dumb asses still haven't figured out how to tell if someone is a battle hardened warrior have you??" They all shake their heads in embarrassment.

"Well anyway take this as a lesson remember that man and everything he did and said, even how he walked, also remember that not once did he get defensive after seeing you all on guard with hands on weapons, sure it could've been becuase they were scared but only a idiot would think that after seeing him completely not give a shit about us.

And his facial expression didn't change once, and his way of speech was at the perfect pace not too slow or fast perfect enough for everyone to hear and understand. These are the small things you will notice after enough experience so remember it very well or you might offend the wrong person one day. Don't be like that idiot Prince from the Alcadien Kingdom that got his whole family killed due to him being arrogant in the face of a Sage!" They all nodded furiously at what he said and slowly looked back at the fleeting image of the man and shivered, if they offended that guy would they all have died!?

"""Yes captain we will remember this for the rest of our lives!!!""" They all shout in unison

"Ahh damnit I'll kill you lot myself if you don't stop yelling in the morning!!!" The captain stared with murderous intent at them all making them all salute and shiver
