I may be smart but I’m also blunt

The walk through the city was pretty peaceful the place was very homey and it gave me a nice feeling walking through the streets in the morning, I also noticed some people setting up their stalls for the day on my way to the fountain, I quickly noticed the large fountain and it had 5 statues in it 1 in the middle and 4 surrounding I'm gonna take a wild guess and say these people are the hero and their party.

It seems this fountain is used as the city center since there were a lot of shops surrounding the fountain and also plenty of stalls around, I also easily noticed the inn as it had a large sign that immediately caught my attention it seems someone enchanted it to grab people's attention haha the person who made this probably got paid a shit load to make such a simple enchantment, I mean enchanters are pretty rare anyway and now with how degraded this world is I'm guessing something like this cost a large amount of gold. I mean this enchantment was normally made onto tanks items and it was pretty cheap in the game as every low level enchanter could make it.

Anyway I walked through the entrance of the inn and took a glance around, there are a pretty decent amount of people inside around and it seems most of them are eating breakfast, but a couple of rowdy people are already drinking, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say they are either guards or adventurers either way I see a forced plot fight inbound but fuck that if I even feel like that is going to happen I'll just leave I ain't a dumb ass protagonist who gets in a fight defending a waitress and then makes them fall for me while I am dense and do nothing bout it!!! I swear I'm ok stop looking at me like that!!!

Anyway I continued to the counter where a pretty lady was sitting she noticed me as soon as I entered and still hasn't stopped staring at my bulge come on man is makin my dick big a curse or blessing Jesus woman my eyes are up here!!!

"Excuse me" I say plainly to the woman who seems to ignore me while examining my body...

"Ahem." She then quickly looks back up at me and smirks at me... ahh fuck I can already see what kind of person she is jesus have mercy

"What do you need hawty, if you need a room you can stay in mine instead" she says with a wink.

I then place 2 gold on the counter "one room for how ever long this will last me, also please relax on the flirting I'm not a horny teenager."

She at first is a little surprised but then she smiles even wider than before, god damnit woman leave me alone!!! "Awww don't be like that we all need a little bit of relaxation every now and then, well if you change your mind you know where to find me, here's your room key it will last you for 10 days after your ten days you can continue to pay or hand back the key" she then hands me the key, on the key it has a number 13 on it so I quickly leave the counter to head towards my room.

Man I really don't like people like that they really just can't hold a normal conversation with an attractive person and they always act different around them. Well whatever who cares.

I open the door with the key and am pleasantly surprised it seems like this inn has a reason for having such a expensive sign, while the room seems rather simple one could quickly tell all the furniture in the room is of high quality, it had a large queen sized bed, a desk, and even some bookshelves filled with plenty of books most pertaining to history and what I can guess stories of heroes and the sort, the room also has a window with a nice view of the city square and the fountain. Welp time to get some rest and then I'll decide what to do after I wake up, I then put all my gear and weapons into my inventory and then get some rest.

-6 hours later- (12 PM)

Hmm not a bad rest at all the bed is not as soft as modern beds but I was always the type to like harder beds anyway just my preference I suppose and it seems my assassins body agrees with me well if I were to guess an assassins body would most likely be lucky to have gotten any rest on nice beds unless they were on an infiltration mission which wouldn't be very necessary for a highly skilled assassin as myself.

Welp I guess I should do a bit of research and read some of those history books so I can get a grip of this new land I'll be living in for the foreseeable future.

*sigh* well that wasn't very interesting, don't get me wrong I love reading but well it's all so average with only a few interesting parts. Honesty I was hoping this new land would be a bit more interesting, basically it's your average isekai world with demons, monsters, big bad man who wants to kill all and take over the world, and then the genius mages discovered a way to bring a strong individual to them with a complex spell. Honestly the only interesting parts were about a prophecy made thousands of years ago saying that there would one day be an accident made during the summoning making 10 strong people get summoned instead of the normal one. And this would mark the death of the big bad man who wanted to murder all.

Honesty I find it quite funny, but it also made me think that this was what was going on, why you ask?? Well simple the game had a very obvious difference between the top 10 and the rest of the rankings which is normal for a lot of mmos but this game made it so that once all the top 10 spots were full no one else could enter the top 10 the only changes that could be made in the top 10 is by the top 10 players fighting among themselves and changing ranks for example the number 10 player could beat the number 9 player and switch ranks respectively, but the number 11 player could never take the number 10's spot.

This pissed a lot of players off for a bit. Even after a top 10 player quit the game they would still forever be in the top 10 they would just go down a ranking every year they don't log on it was considered the weirdest part of the game but the game devs said that the first 10 players to get into the top 10 had to do a lot to get into that ranking first so they deserve to be forever recognized in the game which actually made a lot of players respect the decision and ended up getting them a lot of praise for them caring so much about their players.

And getting in the top 10 was indeed a challenge the first requirement was finding 15 secrets in the game, which by the way was very difficult due to all secrets being a one time unique scenario, the next requirement was winning 100 duels in a row which once again was quite difficult as someone with a unique item could instantly turn the tide against you but they all still overcame these odds. And the last requirement which was a secret until you joined the top 10 was to be nice to npcs. Simple but very rare in the game to find.

Once all the top 10 players found this out they all ended up having respect to each other and they all got along quite well. Well except for me, I mean I never really talked to any of them as I entered the number one spot only a month after the game released and the next player to join it took a whole year for them to join. I also ended up not interacting with many people due to me being so far ahead in the game compared to them, but I think I talked to the last player to join the rankings once he was a cool guy we met when he was trying to fight a secret boss that was way to strong for him at the time and I helped him out, he was an archer and I think I ended up giving him a bow that was hella good, a couple weeks later he rose up to rank 6 in the rankings by beating the all those above him but that was his limit as the top 5 and above were a bad match for an archer.

Well anyway to put it simply I think everyone in the top 10 was summoned here, I don't know if they were brought to different locations or all brought to the same place and I'm the odd one out which I wouldn't really doubt to be honest it happened a lot in the game so why wouldn't it happen here. But if this is the case I am completely down to let them do all the work for me while I just enjoy my time here but knowing how most isekai stories go I doubt that is going to be the case. All this thinking is making me hungry guess I'll go get lunch, I put all my gear back on and exit my room.

I make my way to the entrance and see the same lady from this morning still sitting at the counter, I see a lot more of the tables in the room are taken up than the morning and it seems the majority of them are eating or talking with each other. I decided to make my way to the counter and get myself a meal. As I make my way to the counter I see that the lady from before noticed me and immediately I see her gloomy face brighten up with a smirk, at the sight of this I sigh and slowly trout over to the counter.

"Nice to see you back handsome what can I do for you, have you reconsidered my offer??" She ask with a smirk

"Still not interested, I want to get some lunch any recommendations?" I ask plainly she looks a bit sad at my lack of reactions but still quickly smiles again with a sly smirk.

"Well you can never go wrong with the daily special, today the special is yeti spaghetti with pegasauce" ahh should've expected some strange dishes but it actually sounds interesting guess I'll give it a shot.

"Alright I'll have that how much will it cost?"

"Its on the house handsome go ahead and take a seat and it'll be out to you in a moment" she gives a wink

*sigh* I'm really considering changing inns I go toward an open table and take a seat, while waiting I play with one of my throwing knives. I also take a moment to observe the other customers particularly the ones making a ruckus it's a group of 10 people 8 men 2 women all look rough and all have armor and weapons they are drinking and being loud some of the other customers look annoyed but they seem to let it go when they take a look at them.

I use inspect on them and immediately understand why the other customers aren't telling them to quiet down, the lowest level in this group is level 80 and the highest level is level 177 quite a interesting group indeed, my guess is adventurers. One of the women has apparently noticed me and won't stop staring at me and I immediately know a stupid plot of some sort is gonna start. *sigh* hopefully I at least get to eat my meal before anything starts. A mans gotta eat and this yeti spaghetti sounds interesting to say the least.

"Here's your dish hope you enjoy" a dull man with a chefs hat on hands me my plate and a glass of what I presume to be alcohol. He then quickly heads back into the kitchen. Nice a normal human being what a rare site you have my respect kind sir.

I take a look at my plate and am pleasantly surprised, it actually looks appetizing, nice thin spaghetti with meat balls and a strange but good looking pinkish sauce. I quickly take a bite and am very impressed it actually taste better than normal spaghetti!! I then take a drink of the alcohol and it's actually really smooth surprisingly and has a nice taste with no aftertaste a rare surprise from a medieval drink. I quickly finish my meal in delight, in this moment of delight I forgot my current situation and just basked in the wonderful moment.

"Excuse me kind sir do you mind if I take a seat here??" Of course I noticed her approach I simply didn't care she had no hostile intent just an annoying lust.

"I would prefer you didn't to be honest" I say plainly

"Ouch haven't heard that in a long while maybe if you look at me you might change your mind??" She says teasingly

I turn around and look her straight in the eyes causing her to flinch and blush a bit.

"Oh my how could I possibly be so ignorant to deny such a beauty of course fair maiden take a seat next to me and make yourself comfortable shall I get you a glass of wine??"

"Hehe no I'll be fi-"

"I was being sarcastic now fuck off please.."

"..." shock all over her face she was at a loss of words, while she was pretty and at an undeniable level at that she also had a personality that I wasn't a fan of therefore all that beauty was about as beautiful as sloth from the goonies…
