1 The Pretty Latina

"The pretty latina" was how the neighbors called her. Her expressive light hazel eyes, thick long lashes and native Brazilian facial features, besides belonging to a well known family, marked her different from other kids. She was Leticia, only child of Senor Augustus and Senora Manuela Gutierrez, born late in their marriage. Both parents had very high hopes and expectations for their only child. The Gutierrez family was famous and wealthy in Sao Paolo, Brazil, and all their efforts in life were centered on Leticia.

At a young age of 16, Leticia fell in love with Steven, a tourist, whom she met during one of her visits to the family's huge plantation in Italy. Swept off her feet with her first experience in romance, Leticia was too naive to be aware of the possible consequences that would come afterward. Steven was a married man from America, and both of them knew that their relationship couldn't go any further. It truly pained Leticia's young heart to let go of Steven. Steven on the other hand, had chosen to go back home to his wife and children.

It was a little more than a month after Steven had left her when Leticia found out that she was bearing his child, and on her way to becoming a very young mother.
