3 3rd- Second Chance

Wiping the rest of my tears, I got up, dusting off my pants.

Silently, I went to draw out of the box, the hunched man still was patting me reassuringly.

Reaching inside the white box, I drew out a card.

A warm green.

"Humph, that's rare," The teenage boy said, raising his eyebrow.

With a cough, he opened his mouth.

"Congratulation. You have picked an extremely rare card. You have gotten the card of second chance. You may state how you are reborn."

"Whether it would be a different dimension, in what time, having a special ability of some sort, or simply choosing the same family to spend the next lifetime, you may customize to your choice."

"You can be a noblewoman in an eastern fantasy, return to a world with a new ability and new family, or you can go back in time to your original family and enjoy a nice life with them."

"But there is some limitation, but they are nonexistent for the most part."

"Now, which do you want."

I can go back?

Squeezing my hand, my eyes widen.

Going back.

To my mother and father.

Just like before...

The hunched man no longer patted my back, resuming his previous position.

Reborn however I want...

"I don't want to be reborn."

"Okay then, so you want- Wait, WHAT?!"

The shock in his face was unforgettable as I burst out laughing.

With a wry smile, I chuckled.

"I had one life and it has ended. Life is life because it only happens once. Since the choices were made by me and me only, I happily accept what has happened to me."

"I don't want to be reborn, or else life won't be I would like to be anymore."

I smiled smugly.

"What, didn't expect it, did you?"

"Pssh, your insane."

"I'll take that is a compliment."

"Give me a moment."

Reaching out of thin air, an thin, clear circle appeared.

Raising it by his mouth, he spoke some word I could never understand.

After a while, it glowed, before spitting back words I could never understood either.

"Because you have reject the green card, it means that the next card is a yellow card."

"Yellow card?"

All of a sudden, the warm green card in my hand slowly turned into a warm yellow, the green crept away.

"The yellow card means that we can grant any wish, but you have do work in return for it."

"Work?"

"Well, you have an awful amount of questions. Maybe it is because you keep cutting me off."

I shut my mouth.

Smiling in victory, the snotty boy resumed talking.

"The work is determined by what you get from the slot machine."

"From that, the slot machine gives you a category or even an specific job that you will then complete with missions. The slot machine will give the thing that has to do with the life before you died."

"For example, previously you always loved photos, the job ends up being a photographer."

"The system that gives out the mission may transport you to a dimension where you complete the mission, lets say... Snap an picture of a new plant in the sunset."

"Finishing it will give you EXP, or maybe you need to reach a certain rank, or something else, that will transport you to another mission, and so on, until the you have reached the condition to reach your wish."

"How about it?"

I thought about it.

A new journey in the form of the dead.

My eyes formed into crescents.

"Sure!"

The teenage boy curled up his mouth.

"If you think about it, you are consider having a new life and yet you said no to it..."

"This is different! This is a whole new chapter within the journey, the chapter of death, not an continuation of the chapter of life."

"Besides, I get to choose a wish, right?"

The teenage boy quietly analyzed me, his glowing eyes did not blink.

"Yep."

I went up to the large door, grabbing for the lever.

On my tip-toes, I pull down.

Springing back up, the pictures were flashing, turning into an dazzling blur as the pictures flashed all sorts of items.

"Ching."

The first picture was a rickety food stall.

"Ching."

The second picture was a plate of food.

"Ching."

The last picture was various faces with varying expressions, but they all seem to be quite happy.

A sound of horns were sounded, shaking the ground as I cupped my hands over my ears.

The sound was so loud that it vibrated me, before a rain of confetti and sparkles showered down.

In large bold words were the words "Food Stall Owner".

"Please state your wish."

FOOD!

F*CK YES!

With excitement, I prance around like I had a lot of white, powdery stuff....Sugar.

Straightening out my pants and shirt, I coughed lightly before declaring my wish.

"I want endless missions!"
