13 The Fly in a Witch’s Clothing

"She's not that bad."

Everyone gasped in astonishment and tried to re-read Ji Chen's reply making sure that they did not read it incorrectly. They contemplated for a while whether their boss was smitten by that fly but brushed the idea off since he already admitted that he was only attracted to her birthmark.

Getting the picture that their boss did not tell them the entire truth, they continuously questioned Ji Chen to the point of no return.

PK Master: Boss! We badly need to know the truth for the betterment of the world.

Puppeteer: Right! We demand enlightenment from this injustice. We're not some chicks whom you can entice and stop half way.

After all the bantering the team channel had undergone, Ji Chen finally responded seemingly unperturbed. Obviously, he does not want to answer their question because he himself cannot guarantee that he can still hide the fact that he was also spellbound by the fly that he hated so much.

Awesome Chen: What's the question again?

Melancholy arise in the depth of their hearts when their boss insisted on dodging the topic. Due to this, their enthusiasm was sapped dry by Ji Chen's fatal strike and decisively kicked him out of the team.

[System Notification: You have been kicked by PK Master from the team channel.]

Seeing this message on his screen, Ji Chen perfect countenance turned glum. He breathed in heavily to contain his anger and forced his way back through the guild channel.

Enraged, he spammed the entire chat box with continuous set of threats.

[Guild] Awesome Chen: Damn who gave you the courage to kick me out of the team channel??

[Guild] Awesome Chen: Do you want me to do the kicking?!

[Guild] Awesome Chen: Add me back this instance!

[Guild] Awesome Chen:

A few moments later, LT added him back and apologized.

[Team] Awesome Chen: Thanks @Lunch Thief. I will promote you to a commander later on. As for the others, quickly repent on your sins and do your daily quests for meantime. I'll think of an appropriate punishment for you @PK Master.

Having sorted things out, the seemingly interested bunch dropped the hot potato for the mean time and allowed Ji Chen to order them around to get everything over with. They will follow and listen to him with no questions asked with the condition that he will answer their inquiries completely and truthfully afterwards.

Since Ji Chen believes that he is not that shameless, he agreed with the condition they proposed. Eventually, the team channel reverted back to its tranquil state.

While everyone was engrossed to what they are doing, Ji Chen took this chance to relax himself and adjust his state of mind for the incoming battle later on.

Being freed from their inquisitive clutches, he immediately clicked on that grayed out name in his friends list and left some messages to his so called "wife". He urgently confessed that he had committed a sin by being charmed by another woman in her absence. He lamented for quite some time and wished for her return when suddenly, his moment was disrupted by that utterly familiar tone from the team channel.

'Surely enough, these guys are really persistent when it comes to talking about girls and gossips. Evidently, this is downside of being single dogs.' He complained.

In the end, he was forced to answer them completely and honestly. As expected, he still found himself entranced by that breathtaking beauty he saw earlier this afternoon and can no longer bury it in his mind.

He was still in the middle of admiring and reminiscing her sophisticated yet simple countenance when he remembered that what he told them was not the entire truth. He almost forgot the most important asset a girl should have which was the beauty within. Unfortunately, that celestial being has a rotten core. She's a savage and wicked demoness that fears no man.

With this, Ji Chen immediately warned his dogs… I mean minions not to be deceived by outer appearances. Everyone readily accepted what he was implying and concluded that looks can really be deceiving. Even their boss was almost duped. In other words, men must make an extra effort to look deeper into girls because there will always be something in them that meets the eyes.

Subsequently, they were stunned and moved by Ji Chen's gesture. He's really worthy of being their leader. He is selfless, quick-witted, composed, and the most shameless of all. They are now looking at Ji Chen in a new light and left him at peace when LT broke the eerie silence.

LT typed in his conclusion and said arrogantly : In other words, she is just a fly in a witch's clothing, right?

For the first time ever, LT felt accomplished for being fast enough to comprehend the entire story in the team channel thus he took the perfect time to shine.

Everyone's eyes rested on that string of words in the team channel and swallowed hard.

On the other hand, Xtremenator who have gone MIA the entire time just came back from dinner and read LT's comment. While the other three had their bodies petrified by LT's unexpected statement and was still basking on his brilliance, another ding sound echoed in their ears from the team channel that stole the limelight. This time, it was not LT who made the finishing blow but the usually cold and aloof Xtremenator.

[Team] Xtremenator: No that's not right @Lunch Thief. To be exact, she is a stinky fly that loves to stick around trashes in a witch's clothes that has the appearance of a goddess but has a rotten core.

Everyone's mind short-circuited including the heroic LT.
