12 She’s Not that Bad

In the deathly-silent night, a bone-chilling breeze can be felt and the distinct winter scent is oozing. Sitting in a dim-lighted room, a figure can be seen. Keyboard tapping can be heard and the heavy atmosphere was looming in the four-walled compartment.

The tapping sound reverberated continuously for 5 minutes until, silence shrouded the room. Having his fingers stiffened for a while, Ji Chen contemplated Xtremenator's question and was lost in thought.

[Team] Xtremenator: Since you said it yourself that this new classmate of yours is extremely familiar but you do not know her at all, how come you were able to link her identity to that stinky fly that sticks out with the t-word that LT spoke of?

His eyes flickered and was brought back to what happened this afternoon.

[FLASHBACK]

It was nearing sunset and the surrounding was serene when Ji Chen was awakened from his deep slumber. Feeling that his body was becoming stiff, he shifted his form to a more comfortable position and moved his head to face his right.

Half-asleep, he felt the absence of movements in the classroom. He then drowsily opened his eyes and allowed it to roam around until his gaze stumbles upon a delicate looking face of a girl with eyes tightly shut next to him. His eyes flickered in surprise but thinking that it was impossible for a girl to sit beside him in this class, he openly stared at her.

Captivated by her innocence, he pinched her cheeks. When her cheek turned red and her brows furrowed, horror filled him. As fast as lightning, he remembered that he got himself a seatmate few hours ago and she's not as innocent as he thought she is at the moment.

'Looks can be deceiving alright,' he thought.

Panic-stricken, he sits upright and looked everywhere. Seeing nobody around, his eyes drooped down to his watch and cannot help but curse deep inside his heart.

'F*ck! Why didn't anyone have the heart to wake me up?!'

He stood up, straightened the crease on his uniform and fixed his unkempt hair. He was about to leave the place but his attention was drawn back to that sleeping figure next to him.

He shook his head and cast a glance at that certain someone who slept like a log.

"Really, I don't know if she's just too innocent of this world's wickedness or she was just a pure idiot," he whispered.

He was still thinking of her stupidity when an image flashed across his mind. His body stiffened and darted a look at that petite and slender figure again. Having that image in mind, he felt that a strong sense of familiarity overwhelms his senses.

"N-no way," he muttered in disbelief. Surely there was something more about her that meets the eye.

He narrowed his eyes and scanned her appearance thoroughly. He scrutinized every nook of her entirety but cannot seem to find a distinguishing feature that links her to that certain someone he has in mind.

Looking at her up closely, he felt captivated by her beauty that he did not think she has initially.

Having that eyelashes as dark as coal against her fair skin, eyebrows like crescent moons and although her satin-soft skin was covered with faint freckles, Ji Chen cannot deny that she has a hidden beauty to behold. That picturesque face is simply breathtaking!

Captivated by her, his hand moved on its own and brushed those strands of hair covering her face. Time seemingly froze. His eyes glowered as he took note of her pink supple lips. A smirk escaped from his mouth when he saw that this ravishing beauty have her drool dripping. His Adam's apple bobbed and had the urge to wipe it but was stopped midway when his attention was drawn to that tiny pinkish patch on her neck.

[End of Flashback]

Ji Chen was still entranced by what happened earlier when he absent-mindedly typed out the thing he saw on her neck.

[Team] Awesome Chen: Birthmark

Everyone has been waiting for Ji Chen to reply and finally the truth was revealed. Ji Chen was still lost in his thought when a ding sound resounded in the entire room that brought him back to reality.

Xtremenator: Birthmark?

His face became flustered knowing that he actually said what he had in mind by impulse.

'F*ck!'

It took him a few breaths of time before he composed himself and nodded in affirmation that what he typed out was correct.

Awesome Chen: Yeah…

Seeing his confirmation, loads of crap I mean questions entered their minds and was intrigued whether their boss developed an undesirable fetish for recognizing the birthmark he saw from the girl he just met yesterday for a few hours.

Being bombarded with heaps of questions, Ji Chen have no other choice but to answer them one by one truthfully. Satisfying their naturally gossipy nature won't kill him anyway and he initiated this conversation so it will be bad if he'll stop halfway. He was eager to answer their questions when suddenly LT dropped the bomb. It was so explosive that everyone was left speechless.

Lunch Thief: Boss did you develop an undesirable fetish for birthmarks?

Ji Chen can hardly swallow his saliva and answered plainly.

Awesome Chen: No

Lunch Thief: I see.

Everyone heaved a sigh of relief thinking that LT was done asking when suddenly a ding sound resounded in five different areas in S City.

Lunch Thief: Then how did you know that the fly has a birthmark in the first place?

A brief silence reigned in the team channel. Seeing LT's non-stop questioning like a detective, Ji Chen resigned to his fate and no longer resisted.

Awesome Chen: She tied her hair in a bun yesterday so her birthmark is quite visible in my line of sight.

Everyone understood and immediately chimed in the conversation.

PK Master: Answer us honestly boss, where you attracted to that fly at first sight?

Awesome Chen: No

Puppeteer: How about the birthmark then, were you attracted to it?

Awesome Chen: Yes

Everyone gasped and felt sorry for the girl in question. 'Poor girl, her birthmark is more attractive than the person itself.'

"Was she that ugly that she was overshadowed by her birthmark in boss' eyes?" Being silent the entire time, it's K.O. that threw in the question that everyone was curious about.

Awesome Chen: …

Xtremenator: There's no need to be shy with us boss, we now know you thoroughly with your explosive confession today.

Ji Chen remained silent for a while before responding.

Awesome Chen: To be honest, she's not that bad.
