'The forthcoming production and-----

'Natalie!' his warning growls assured her that he could still read her expression as easily as when she had been a child.

'He was wondering when he'll get the push.'

'Second sight,' he observed curtly. 'Bradshaw should go far---and fast.'

'I hope you haven't been interfering in my affairs?' Natalie enquired angrily, her face flushing with colour.

'What affairs?' he smiled like a hungry tiger. 'You only went out with him for a year, after all.'

'Remember it!' she snapped, turning to the door.

'Your fired,' he assured her laconically.

'Good. I hate it here. I'll set up a rival firm. After all, I've got all every contact you have.'

His booming laugh was no surprise and she turned into his arms as he hugged her. 'Anybody hurts you, my lamb, and I'll bite them into two,' he growled, his hug almost taking her breath away. In case I forget later, watch your step in Madembi.'

'You've said that already.' Natalie laughed and he looked down at her sternly.

'I never repeat myself!'

'Of course you don't. No more than twice a day.'

She felt a bit more happy and when she went out, Neil had had the good sense to get about his tasks. She spent the time looking through the previous week's shooting with Ray, making quite sure that her efforts for the last production were safely sealed off before she had to leave again.
