Wake up call

Five Months Later*

Gabi and Makima were on the outskirts of Tokyo looking for sorcerers who were after the star plasma vessel for Master Tengen. " Tell me again why I'm here instead of Yu?" Gabi complained to Makima.

Makima sighed at him, " He's in Okinawa with Nanami to help Geto and Gojo but they should be on their way soon,"

The two are on the rooftop looking for the sorcerers who are after the 30 million bounty. "I want some red bean cake with dorayaki and some souffle pancakes and to finish it off with an Oreo milkshake," Gabi sat on the ground holding his tummy and licking his lips imagining eating it.

" Before you reach 20 you will suffer from diabetes and it's eight in the morning," Makima informed the boy.

" My motto is live your life now and suffer later," Gabi pouts at the girl.

" Well, that motto is stupid… Gabimaru I smell a sorcerer 10 meters east," Makima told the boy. Gabimaru got up and the two of them went east jumping from building to building to reach the destination.

( It still amazed me how she could smell that far away like a bloodhound dog.)

When they reached there they saw a middle-aged with slick back hair in a ponytail in front of the river. " I should have known with such a high bounty job there would be few obstacles in my way," he said while he pulled his single blade out of his sheath.

Gabimaru cracked his neck while stretching his legs, " Usually I respect my elders but I guess this time I can't ignore that," Gabimaru smirked at his opponent.

 " Please stop making everything a comic fight scene, " she pokes fun at the boy.

Gabimaru's smirk washed away and he glared at Makima," Hey! Stop ruining…"

A mini ice glacier came toward the two and both of them dodged it just in time.

( Whoa that was so fast coming at me at high speed. I didn't even hear him say anything.)

Makima got up from the ground and charged at the man, he placed his hand on the blade of the sword and infused it with cursed energy to create and attack, " Ice blade," the man whispered and went after Makima.

The man swung his sword horizontally to slice off Makima's neck and she blocked it with the back of her hand causing the ice to break off the sword and grabbed the hilt of the sword moved her body clockwise and used her left knee to put force in her knee him in the ribs to cause him to go off balance and she back away. While the man was trying to gain his balance back Gabimaru took the opening and did a flying kick in his face making the man flung into the river.

( I think kicking him into the river was a bad idea.)

" Makima, should we retreat a little?" Gabi asks the girl. Makima nodded her head understanding why he asked that. During the months of working together, both of them can understand each other's minds when it comes to battle. Both of them know how to work together and this is why the school always pairs them up.

When they were on guard moving away from the river, icicles started shooting at them from the river and the culprit of that attack was the pissed-off man in the river wiping the water from his face.

" I'M NOT HAVING TWO KIDS STOPPING ME FROM GETTING RICH!" He raged and began his rampage of shooting more icicles that were half of the size of an average human body.

( I don't want Makima to see what I can really do but I don't have any choice. We are literally surrounded by water and that is that man's whole arsenal right there I can't play safe anymore. Come out Kamaitachi.)

Before Gabi's eyes, the three weasels came out from the ground and began slicing all the ice attacks that were coming in his and Makima's way. " Shikigami or curse manipulation?" Makima asks the boy.

Gabimaru smirk at her, " None ya,"

Makima tilted her head in confusion, "Huh?"

Gabimaru charged at the dude, " None of ya business !"

( As if I will tell her my abilities. I still don't know crap about hers, nobody doesn't.)

The man was firing ice attack after ice attack and Gabimaru was closing the distances each dodge he made and Makima was right behind him. When Gabi was close to him he grabbed both of the man's hands and head-butted him after that Makima came behind Gabi gripped the man's throat and lunged him away from the river.

( It's crazy how strong she is for the small body she has.)

The man fell to the ground and in the midst of all of that, he broke his leg. Makima and Gabimaru went to him before the man crawled away. Makima stepped on his hand causing him to stop moving.

" We have questions and you got all the answers to them. You should be lucky to have a conversation with me. " Makima said. Gabimaru just shook his head at the girl.

( Stop acting all high and mighty. Insert groan.)

The man infused the little curse energy he got and placed it in his free hand to attack Makima but his plans failed when he felt vines piercing through his hand causing him to yell in agony.

" Tsk, tsk, tsk, you are just making everything worse for yourself. Are you working alone or are you perhaps working with someone else?"

The man that was lying, on the ground, attempted to spit at both of them but sadly it didn't reach them, " I will never work with someone else. That money is mine so I can get my life back."

(Crazy much?)

"We are not asking for no backstory. I don't give a damn if you were in debt with the yakuza." Makima sneered at the man.

( Geez, I'm so glad that I'm on her side. She is scary when she is serious and that is 99% of the day.)

The man started to break down, " I just want my wife back. She left me after I lost my fucking job. Miku I love you I WILL GET YOU BACK!"

( Reminder never get married. )

Makima put more pressure on his hand to make him shut up but suddenly he got a notification from his flip phone. Gabi went inside the man's pockets to inspect what the message was or to see if he was really working alone. " The bounty is over. Whoever placed it took it down for some reason." Gabi informed the girl.

Once the man heard that he started shedding raw tears, " My Miku, my precious Miku come back to me. PLEASE!"

Makima released his hand from her foothold and started walking away from the humiliating man, Gabi caught up to her, " Are we just going to leave him there?" He asked Makima.

" Our job was to eliminate any sorcerer who was trying to participate in the bounty hunt. The bounty is over and our job is done. Let's go back to the school to report."

When they arrived at the front gates of Jujutsu High they were both alarmed. They saw how the place was destroyed but that's not what caught their attention, it was Gojo lying on the ground in his pool of blood. Gabimaru's eyes were wide open thinking that it was some sick joke that was happening. He was wondering how on earth did someone or something kill his brother, the strongest sorcerer that walks on this planet. Gabi's mind just went back to his conversation with Shoko when he first got here.

*Flashback*

" I don't know the history between you and Gojo but at the end of the day, you two are bound with the same blood flowing in your veins. This sorcery world is cruel you two should put your differences aside because who knows what's in store in the future."

*Flashback ended*

Even though Gabi 100% highly dislikes his brother he would never have thought someone was even capable of hurting Gojo nevertheless killing him. " Well, well, well. More sorcerers to kill." A tall builted man with medium-length black hair with a scar on the corner of his right lip walks up to them.

( That's weird I didn't even sense his presence.)

" I'm assuming that this is your doing ?" Makima said out loud to the mystery man.

The man had a smug look on his face taking out a weapon from the curse mouth that was wrapped around his body. " You don't have any curse energy. How are you able to take out Gojo?" Gabi questioned the man.

The man bends his knees down and places the sword behind his head like a Jodan no Kamae position, " A great magician never shares their best secrets."

" Makima, go check on Geto and the vessel, I will handle him," 

For the first time ever Makima showed a concerned look towards Gabimaru " If he took down Gojo, how are you going to handle him?"

( Manananggal come out.)

The wicked curse came out from Gabi's shadows, whipping her matted-up hair like a rockstar as she laughed wickedly. " The difference between me and that idiot is that I don't always rely on curse energy in battles. Everything is off raw instinct."

Makima trusted Gabimaru to finish him off and she went to find Geto. " Who can I slice up?" the Manananggal sharpen her claws.

" Follow my lead," Gabi ordered the women and charged at the man. Both of them collide in each other after sharing heavy blows that push both in the opposite direction causing them to crash into the walls making the walls crumble down.

( He has no curse energy but he is as strong as me or even stronger.)

Gabimaru and the man got up at the same time and charged at each other.

"Kōsatsu no Tsuru [ vines of strangulation]"

From underneath the man's feet, vines burst out from the ground and wrapped around both of the man's ankles causing him to halt his movements.

" What a neat trick kid." The man compliments Gabi.

" Manananggal attack now, " Gabi orders his curse and as soon as she is about to slice the man into ribbons he breaks free from the vines by brute force and slices the curse arm off.

( What the fuck?! Nobody ever broke free from my vines.)

Gabi withdraws his curse back.

( I guess it is hand-to-hand combat.)

The man came at Gabi swinging his sword trying to slice open Gabi but he countered by blocking and dodging each attack that was coming at him. When the man had an opening Gabi ducted down real quick and swung his leg to cause the man to fall down on the ground. Gabi took the advantage and got on top of the man and gave him blow after blow into his face. While Gabi was constantly punching his face the man was about to stab Gabimaru in his lower back but Gabi stopped his attack by getting off him and kicking the knife out of his hands before he attacked him with it. The man got up from the ground," I must say you are the strongest person I have ever fought in hand-to-hand combat. Those punches hurt as hell."

Gabi cracked his hand getting prepared for the next round, "I got more coming for you gramps."

The man laughed at Gabi's comeback, " I remember you now. You are the disgraceful twin everyone looks down on. Man, I must say they are missing out. People praise your brother but they should really pay close attention to you. I know you're hiding something and damn I wish I could do Jujutsu to know what you're hiding. Behind those eyes is a little monster waiting to be released. Let's go all out because I haven't had this fun in a while." The man started laughing while pulling out a broadsword with a fur tsuba. " I only use this to those who are worthy. Congratulations on making that list"

Gabi took off his sweater and went into defense mode.

( I need to focus. He said he remembers me but I have no clue who the fuck he is. Who is this monster?)

The man came charging in like a wild beast swinging his sword to kill Gabimaru, " I will enjoy killing two of the strongest sorcerers that I ever came across."
