29 Reason 3

Aiko lay down in the bed as she felt very weak. She gazed at Amon with loneliness. She felt like she wanted him to know more about her and she too wanted to more about him.

"Do you have some serious illness?" Amon asked in his usual tone. He down after the initial shock and accepted the fact that this woman was most likely his mother.

He never had the intention or the need to search and find his mother. He was an orphan in his previous life and didn't have a motherly figure.

Maybe Hana from the orphanage could be considered one. But he had long accepted the fact that he was an orphan.

But the sudden introduction of the long lost mother made him a bit confused. He doesn't know how to feel about this situation. Should he feel happy or angry?

Furthermore, this mother of his looks like she does not have long to live. Even though he had lived for nearly 30 years, he hasn't encountered a situation like this.

"Four years back I was tested HIV positive" she said with emotion. After a few seconds, she continued again.

"Ironical, since I made my living using my body. So after that, I lost that job. Due to my foolishness, I didn't have any savings, so I couldn't find any proper treatment" she said. She looked at Amon expecting his reaction.

"Don't you feel repulsed or uncomfortable that I was a prostitute?" she asked after Amon didn't have any reaction.

"Am I supposed to?" Amon asked.

"You are pretty funny" Aiko answered, laughing for the first time in a long time.

"I know but some people find it scary" Amon said in exasperation.

"How so?" Aiko asked curiously.

Amon then recounted some of the instances. He told her about the time when he started releasing about 100 curses in Geto's organization so that Geto could exorcise them and strengthen himself.

He also told her about the incident when he stole one of principal Yaga's puppet and sent it to the Zenin family, suggesting they make the cursed puppet as their clan leader since it has a higher amount of cursed energy.

Aiko didn't understand half of what Amon said. He said weird things like a cursed corpse, curses, and Zenin. But she still laughed as Amon recounted.

Amon also knew she wouldn't understand it but still told these experiences. He didn't know why he wanted her to know these. Maybe he thought this could let her know more about himself.

"Well, I think the things you do are still pretty scary" she said as she was still laughing in between the words.

"I don't care if they are scary. My intention was purely for fun and not to cause any harm" Amon said with a straight face. How could unleash hundreds of curses in an organisation and cause death and injuries to many people not considered harmless.

"So this girl called Maki is from that Zenin family? Is she your girlfriend?" Aiko asked in a teasing voice.

"What?" Amon cried as looked at Aiko with a weird expression.

"Are you too shy to accept it?" Aiko asked to hope to get Amon to say the truth.

"What is there to accept? I have never seen Maki in a romantic way. Either way, I don't think Maki is my type" Amon said after a bit of thinking.

"Oh, so what is your type?" Aiko asked to hope to get more information.

"I don't know" Amon said.

"Are you..?" Aiko asked as she raised her eyebrows a bit.

"No, I am not into men" Amon answered. Does he really look like he is into men? Maybe because he is very close to Gojo, people automatically come to the wrong conclusion.

"I think someone strong, calm, bold, independent is my type. She should also have a perfect body with big tits and ass" Amon answered.

"Wow, that is a lot of expectations you got there. Good luck getting that perfect girl" she said with a bit of sneer.

"What about the man you mentioned earlier?" Amon asked to hope to get some information on the guy who may be his father.

Aiko went silent after the mention of that man. It seemed she did not want to talk about him.

"It's ok" Amon said. Suddenly, Aiko started coughing violently. She coughed more amount of blood. She lay back in the bed again, her face even paler than before.

"It seems my time has come to end" she said as a few drops of tears fell from her eyes "I had a great time knowing you" she said with difficulty.

Amon's hand suddenly glowed with white light. Positive energy gathered in his hands as he moved it towards Aiko.

Sensing something she held his hand. Amon looked at her in confusion.

"It's ok, I want to go" she said weakly. Amon immediately stopped his hand from moving further. The glow in his hands was nowhere to be seen.

"I am sorry for abandoning you son" she said with a weak smile.

"How did you know?" he asked.

"A mother knows" Aiko answered as she closed her eyes. Tired, she fell asleep. Amon just looked at her sleeping peacefully.

He could easily heal her now if he wanted to, but he choose not to. This was exactly what he wanted in his life. To die without any fear, on your own terms.

He was not heartless enough to rob someone of that opportunity. He deeply admired this mother of his as she was fearless enough to accept death and smile at the end. He was even a little envious.

Amon just sat there looking at her sleeping. After two or three hours, Aiko Aoki drew her last breath as she died peacefully in her sleep.

A drop of tear fell from the emotionless face of Amon. He genuinely felt some emotions after a long time.

There were no anomalies after her death. No vengeful cursed spirit was formed. After a few minutes, Amon called Ijichi, telling him to prepare for the funeral.

However small this interaction was that Amon had with his mother, it impacted him greatly.
