Mission Ends

Gojo happily entered the premises of Jujutsu High. He was gone on a mission and it took nearly a week.

'Sigh, how time flies when I am on a business trip'

Thinking about how his students would have missed him made Gojo happy. He entered the class of the first year.

"Hello~ my dear students. Did you miss your favourite teacher? Don't worry as I am back" Gojo announced excitedly.

Well, the reaction was underwhelming. Panda was asleep, Maki made a face like she just wanted to get away from his presence and Toge was Toge. Gojo noticed that Amon was not present.

"Well, you must be stressed in my absence that you guys failed to react to my arrival. It's okay" Gojo said nonchalantly.

"Anyway, where is Amon?" Gojo asked.

"We should be asking that too. We haven't seen him since you left. The principal said that he was on a mission" Maki answered Gojo.

Even though they didn't show it, they have been pretty worried about Amon. They even asked for help from the second years

"What?" Gojo asked in puzzlement. Since Amon is a grade two sorcerer, it was pretty normal for him to go on missions alone. But a mission that lasts so many days, it is definitely not within the capabilities of a first year.

Gojo immediately teleported to the room of Principal Yaga. Yaga, who was doing some work sensed the arrival of Gojo.

"It seems you are back from the trip Gojo. So, what do you want?" Yaga asked.

"You know it" Gojo answered. There was a hint of anger in his voice.

"Is it about Amon? Don't worry, he is fine" Yaga answered calmly.

"Don't worry? He is just a first-year and you have given him a mission that lasts several days. Even experienced grade two sorcerers rarely take such missions" Gojo said in anger.

Yaga didn't answer and just continued with his work.

"Could you give me the information about the mission?" Gojo asked as Yaga give him a covered file.

Gojo saw the contents of the documents as it was suddenly torn into pieces. A murderous aura surrounded Gojo.

"This mission involves Geto and you gave it to a first-year grade two sorcerer. Are you planning to kill him?" Gojo shouted in anger as he suddenly stopped.

"It's them, isn't it? Those old bastards must have specifically asked for Amon to complete the mission. Seriously, I should have just killed all of them" Gojo said as he was leaving the room.

"Gojo, wait calm down a little" principal Yaga tried to reason with him. But Gojo didn't listen to him.

"Have you forgotten about your dream? Is this how you want to achieve this?" Yaga asked as Gojo suddenly stopped walking.

'My dream ah' Gojo said as he laughed a bit.

"Well they better hope that he is fine" Gojo said to Yaga in a threatening manner.

"Wow, what's the tense situation here?" a carefree voice was heard.

Both Yaga and Gojo turned around in surprise. There they saw Amon. There was blood all over his clothes. His shoulders were limping a little.

"Man, you sure have had it tough" Gojo laughed as he saw his student's condition.

"Well, your old bestie was very powerful sensei" Amon said with a sneer. Gojo's expression twisted a little.

"Has Geto gone soft, he didn't kill you?" Gojo asked his face showing a mocking expression.

"Kids" Yaga muttered as he left.

"Welcome back, Amon" Gojo said as he put a hand over Amon's shoulder.

"Aah aah, it hurts" Amon shouted in pain.

"Wow it really hurts ah, come on let's get you to Shoko" Gojo said.

"Anyway, what the hell is up with the monocle? Are you trying some new fashion?" Gojo asked curiously. Amon didn't answer him and just walked.

"Come on, say it" Gojo pestered.

Soon they reached Shoko's office. It was like a mortuary with many medical equipments everywhere. Shoko was seated at her table with her white coat.

"Hmm, you came back alive?" Shoko asked without any expression on her face.

"Wow, did nobody think I would survive?" Amon asked in exasperation.

"Enough of the empty talk, I am busy. Come here, I will heal you" Shoko said.

"Nice monocle, by the way" Shoko said.

Soon, Amon left the room all healed up. He rotated his shoulders in joy.

All of his injuries including the heavier injuries were healed.

'What a miraculous technique? Maybe I should just steal it' Amon thought.

Shoko was back in her seat, smoking after healing Amon. Suddenly, she shuddered.

'Weird' she thought.

"What is the deal with Geto?" Gojo asked suddenly. There was not the usual carelessness in his tone.

"I don't know clearly, but he has been collecting curses. I think he is planning something big" Amon said.

"Well, he just wants to kill all the non-sorcerers" Gojo said with a hint of mockery. His friend Geto, who talked to him about justice and having a reason for being a Jujutsu sorcerer.

He said that sorcerers especially must have a reason for their actions. He believed sorcerers existed to protect non-sorcerers. That was his reason.

"Hey Amon, what do you think about being a sorcerer?" Gojo asked Amon. He wanted to know if he had a reason.

"Well, I think it's interesting, fun" Amon answered.

'He may be the only guy who thinks being a sorcerer is fun' Gojo thought in amusement.

"Do you have a reason to be a sorcerer?" Gojo asked.

"What happened? Why are you being so weird?" Amon looked at Gojo with a weird look.

"Just answer it" Gojo said. How embarrassing it was to talk stuff like this?

"I don't know, I don't have any reason. I don't have any goals. I like being free and pursuing excitement. Well, you could say I still didn't find my reason" Amon answered absentmindedly.

'What is my reason for doing all of this? Weird, that I never think about stuff as this' Amon thought.

...

Amon entered his room, tired. This mission has been very exhausting for him. He hoped to check the monocle before going to sleep.

"Let's see what you are" Amon injected his cursed energy into the Monocle. He heard indistinguishable ravings and murmurs. A bunch of information was loaded into his brain as he fainted.
