2 Chapter Two

You see, a long time ago, before June was born, lived a King and a Queen. They were rich but lacked one thing, and that was a child. They were married for 12 years but no child to certify their union. It hurted the Queen a lot because she could hear people mock her.

One day, when the Queen was resting reading a book, she hyper-ventilated and fainted. The maids called the attention of the King who in turn called a doctor. She was examined and was told she had high blood pressure due to overthinking. But there was more to her problem, the Queen was pregnant. The King couldn't believe his ears and he called for a large gathering.

Months later, a handsome young prince was born. He was spoilt with love and admiration and was pampered by his parents but there were people who didn't want the prince to live. The news got to the King and Queen and they had no choice but to send their only son away with a wet nurse.

Being with the nurse, he was trained in a princely way but he was told never to let anyone know he was a prince. He lived with the wet nurse for 6 years.

One day during one of his lessons, (ed. note: don't take this serious just fiction) he had an accident and bumped his head into a tree. He passed out and found himself in a room where a woman was struggling to give birth. He had in his hands some herbal concoction and he gave it to the midwife who fed it to the woman. Immediately, it went down, she gave birth to a girl, who was named June. The midwife thanked him for coming and that was how he recognized his wet nurse as the midwife. The wet nurse held his hand and he regained consciousness but was now in a small hut on a small bed with the wet nurse squeezing the towel dry.

She said to him, "your wife was born today. She too is from a kingdom but her mother was forced into hiding when her husband, the King died. She survived by the money given to her monthly by her best friend who worked as a treasurer in the palace until he was found dead, she used up the money to buy that house and open a small market for herself, she had been sustaining on that, until she finally gave birth."

The prince looked on as she spoke and the only thing he could ask was, "what is the name of the kingdom?" Which she replied, "Ridgeland."

Since then he made himself available for June until his wet nurse passed away when he was 18 and he decided to take up a disguise as a poor shepherd boy by buying lots of goats and sheeps using some money out of the large amounts of money given to him by his parents.

That was why he was happy to marry June and he treated her with care because she was indeed a Princess.
