4 That Girl

I awoken my eyes, it looked like it was still night, I looked at my phone and it said 2:36 a.m., I had to wake up to piss, knowing I didn't do it before I slept, I always do that before I attempt to sleep, was this a dream or reality? I can move normally as I sat up scratching my head looking around in the dark with the door creaked open, I turn on my flashlight and point it at Reds bed, I don't see him there, so I believe he is out in the restroom peeing, until I heard clicks on the ground, like a female wearing heels, I wondered and went to the door to listen better,

"Young Red thank you for my notice this late, sorry to mess up your sleep,"

*yaaaaawn* "meh it's fine what do you need Dr. Ellie? Finally going to tell me about Orlando?" I pressed my ear closer to the door, wondering what they are going to talk about,

"Well we got a new child Red, and no stop asking that, she is a former from your county, and you may know her, same age as you, I've come here to get some information from you to confirm, does Marina ring a bell?" As I had my ear pressed on the door I wondered who Marina is, and why this early? Are they trying to hide something?

"Oh, yes, erm, we had a bad history before I left Crane county five years ago, we had a fight that wanted me to come here, and she told me it's stupid to go, knwoing about Orlando is the reason so why not, it's just weird to hear her name at a time like this,"

"I'm sorry Mr. Red, you must wait, a time like this isnt right, but I needed to make sure she isn't associated with Max, close relations of the past can interfere and may not work, the dearest of our children must be left unattended from anyone he knows, I'm sure Dr. Gene already talked to you about changing his outcome?" Hearing this made me uncomfortable, why does Red need to know about Orlando, she attended this early of the morning to make sure I don't hear anything but I still don't understand,

"Yes ma'am… and the consequence of not making him," I heard that with such a worried voice,

"Look Red, don't worry what he said, that was used to make you do it without problems, but that has changed now, you are very close to him to make him believe and do it was a statement that could've work, so words will not do it to him, I am advised to not tell you anything of our plans, you may rest now, but we may need you later. I got her the details she needs, just let her know who he is, and no troubles for you, there are many ways to make him happy, many,"

Another way to make me happy? All I could feel was a long pause waiting for Red to say something,

"Y-yes ma'am I will try my best, when shall I tell her or show her around,"

"How about now? Marina? Come here please,"

I heard more footsteps on the floor, not heels, but like walking on tile in sandals,

"Hey Redlin"

All I thought wow that's a cool name, but formally he doesn't sound pleased about her,

"Hey Marina, what changed your mind about coming here? Your mom didn't want you to go after I left, so why now-"

"They offered me a chance in life again. To be above them in that county, seeing you go and having a dream was what I hated because I thought it'll never happen, but now I am here now, I want nothing to do about back then, and just proceed to do my job, all I have to do is this test that everyone does right?" She sounded unsure,

"Miss Marina, just know you will be ok after this, Red show her room, here is the keycard, and I'll give more details after this Marina, to assure a better tomorrow Max will be your main priority, until you made him happy let me know, dismissed," I heard the heels clack off as the only thing moving, I felt I should've gone out, but wondered if they'll talk more,

"So she woke me up for this? Well Marina I'll show you your room, let's see it says room 23 so let's go-"

"Red I'm going to be honest.." she said it with a light tone, like nervous to speak more, I heard a halt and he spoke

"Yes Marina?" A questioning sound he made

"Well, I wanted to go to see you again, but it's been what, 5 years? You were a smart kid then, and I wanted to see if I could. But I don't know what I'm going to do. Or how I'm going to end up, they gave me a letter explaining I can do this because I have this weird dream sometimes and I could change something."

"Hey hey calm down, look Marina, back then was different now we are adults, I don't hate you and neither should you, and let's not talk about dreams right now we had many of those, so c'mon I'll help you out.."

And the foot steps walked off, dreams? Could this mean they were trying to find Meagan and use her for me? She never told them about her dream but just wanted to come here, the more I wait the more stuff comes at me. I waited a couple seconds to go to the restroom, and piss normally, I don't know what to do, act normal like nothing happened? Or just let her see what her plan is, Red is still mad at me for not changing so quick it'll cost his life, but she is in the picture. I don't like where this is going..

/ 8 hours later..

I'm sitting up in my room waking up from what felt a dream, to make sure it wasn't, I put a timer on my phone for 10:39, I woke up at 10:20 so the timer has not gone off, knowing I didn't dream of putting in a odd number for me to wake up, but I noticed Red was not here, so I went about as always, I put my slippers on and I walked out of the room,

"Max!" I heard a voice along the hall, I turn around to see Meagan,

"Hey so how was our dream?" She sounded uplifted for once, as she held my arm,

"No I didn't have a dream, which was weird, but I learned something last night, I woke up and I creeped into a conversation," she looked at me weird and explained,

"Well Max I had a wonderful dream, me and you were going on a date to see a movie in our county, we had a wonderful time, and it felt really real, and me and you both were really happy, and I'm just surprised you didn't get the same dream,"

She looked at me as she tilted her head and crossed her arms, like I didn't want that dream,

"Look Meagan, with that aside I learned about Red and a new child has entered in, and I overheard them talking about her changing my aspect of things instead of Red,"

"What's this child's name?"

"Her name is uh-"

"Max! Meagan!" It was the voice of Magallena that cutted my talk, but she had to tell is about lunch, gold figure,

"C'mon let's go get ready for lunch!" and Meagan and I looked at each other with concern, and walked off.

When we got there at the lunch table it was Magallena, Red and myself just sitting at the table waiting for the time to hit 11:10 to get in line for lunch,

"So Max I know I've been a mild head lately but of course I'm going to ask, did you dream last night?" I looked at him with a look of I'm going to answer you,

"Well Red, I didn't have a dream for once , I was blank, usually me and Meagan would share a dream, but I was blank, I'm sorry, I can't say wait one more day but I know we have no time for you," I looked down with a look concerning him to know I still care for him,

"Well Max actually-" Magallena comes in and pulls him up,

"Alright guys time for lunch, since today is Monday, Max is first to go in line,"

We call this lunch order, we chose a day to get in line first and we all follow up behind, and see what they had for today, so great I gotta tell the lunch lady 'hello' today and probably talk about my dreams, man I hate that,

"Alright guys, I'll let you guys know what's on it-"

"Hey Max watch out who you talk to now,"

Usually Red won't tell me anything like that, ever since what happened. But something is off today.

I went into the line, usually when I stand in line I don't look behind me because I don't want to make a awkward look and then worry about them making fun of me, so I keep my back away from everybody, and as always when I'm first,

"Awe dear Max! Did you finally figure out what you're going to do with your life?" Almost a cheerful look from the lunch lady,

"Uhh, yeah I want to make music and please people," I said that with a fake smile, and I continued on down the line, I have the food, but I know I need something healthy, so at the end there was apples, and as I went all the way down of the line, I went to grab for it, and it was red and ripe as ever, but as I attempted to put it on my tray it rolled off, so I attempted to get it,

"Oh dang it," I went to squat down for it and reached it with my hand, and another beat me to the apple, I looked up to see a girl with short blonde hair look at me with blue eyes, a great sight to see, I was out of mind, and she spoke,

"Here you dropped something," she smiled and tilted her head as she gave it to me, I try to respond without stuttering,

"Th-thank you," and I proceeded to walk off back to the table,

"Hey guys it's meatloaf again so go grub up," I told that to everyone and they all took off in line, and I sat down and began to think, who was that girl? I hope it wasn't-

"Hey!" She scared me as she stood above me,

"Mind if I sit with you?" She said that while tilting her head again, something is up, is this who I think it is?

"I didn't mean to scare you but you look like a nice guy so I wanted to sit with you, if it's fine,"

Usually girls don't ask me this. Usually tell me to leave,

"Uh, yeah sure go ahead," I looked back at the line and it was pretty long for anyone to come back in time to stop this conversation,

"So my name is Marina! I just recently came here and I was assigned to help you be happy!"

I stopped to grab a bite on my food, she is upfront with what they told her, one thing is should I trust her, or should I just ignore her?

"To make me happy? I'm happy enough-"

"Well not with that attitude! Your friend Red told me about you and your favorite things to do! I have a test for it, so I'm gonna do it.."

She ended the sentence with a serious tone, it wasn't a dream for sure, I feel really weirded out now, but no choice to talk more,

"So, Marina, where did you originally come from?"

"I came from the Crane county where Red is from, I haven't seen him in a while and he's grown I can tell, but after that night I just didn't want him to go, like something was pulling him in," so thinking they had an argument, I was going to go in depth,

"So what pulled him in then?" She gave me a serious look,

"Well you see he doesn't know it but the main guy of this place, Orlando, is his father, his mother always told him that he died fighting this place, his reason to come was to get away from me and the 'nonsense' of Crane county, he believed this place would make him happy, I kept telling him about his dad being alive here so maybe that could've been a push but he doesn't believe it, I try to help him as best as I can, but nope, so that's why I'm here to help you! If I couldn't help him, well I'm sure to help you, so what is your favorite book?" As she lightly put her hand on my thigh

It took me a while to process what she said, Orlando is his dad. That's why he wanted to talk to him? I didn't know what to ask,

"Uhhh, ok, I like the Art of I don't care,"

"Who's that by?-"

"I don't care sorry-" I didn't notice but I finished my meatloaf early than usual, but still I felt bad by just saying that to her, but I stood up and walked off to put up the tray, and knowing I would sit back and wait for the others and talk to them, I decided to head to the room to listen to my music.

As I enter the room to turn on the light, I heard a voice speak out towards me,

"Well that was rude of you of someone trying to make you happy ," and I flicked the lights on and it was Marina sitting on my bed looking at me, with her arms crossed around her boobs, she is showing cleavage so she is trying to do something,

"Well I don't want someone to force me to be happy, I just want to chill ya know?" I entered in the room going towards my drawer and pulled out my phone and headphones to listen to my music, then and there she stopped me,

"Look Max," as she looked up at me, she put her hands on my phone and lightly pushed them down, as she got closer to me,

"Well look I don't usually talk my way in on boys these days. And well you are different, it's my duty to make you happy," she proceeded to stand up and get close to me as she put her hands on my shoulders, and she leaned in more,

"Because I am that girl you know?" Her beautiful blue eyes were staring at me, I didn't know what to say at that point. I was blank to be honest, she was being seductive to me, and I don't know how to react to that,

"Uh. Well Marina I don't want to be too close yet, I mean we just met, and why force a test on me," as I backed up from her but she beat me and made me turn around,

"What do you mean Max? The only way to force you isn't words," she got up close to me and pushed me down on my bed as I lay there she got on top of me, and leaned in on me,

"But by feeling you-"

"HEY!" That light voice sound of a girl, it was Meagan, Marina turned around and looked at her as she had her hand on my chest and the other on her zipper of the jump suit about to show me what I have never seen,

"GET THE FUCK OFF OF HIM YOU WHORE!" I did not know Meagan was like that, or could even yell that much, but Marina proceeded to get off of me, I looked powerless, I didn't know how to present to the problem, so I just sat there,

"And who are you? You abruptly ruined my test of what I need to do," I sat up looking at Meagan with her long face, looking at Marina on why she would say that,

"Test? What makes you think you can randomly go on guys like this?-"

"Well it could make him happy sweetheart, I just barely came here to this place and my first test is to make Max happy, this is my test after all, didn't you go through a test? You have to do something without any regards?-"

"Well this is stupid he doesn't even know you, you don't know if you can-"

"Well if your mad about this then looks like you failed to make him happy," Meagan had a mean look towards her after she said that, I still didn't want to say a word, Meagan just clenched her fists, I saw her eyes water, and took off out the room, Marina then turned around towards me,

"Well that's out the way, so how about I close the door and lock it to make sure we are alone,"

She rushed to the door as quickly as possible, I still don't know why I didn't move, something in me was feeling more, happy. Like someone is more on me, a better feeling,

"Okay Max shall I continue?"I don't know why but I nodded with a blank face, she walked towards me again, but rushed to get on me again she placed her hand on my chest and the other beginning to zip down her jumpsuit, as it went down to her belly button her boobs popped out, she wore a purple bra, almost laced, she grabbed both of my hands and she put them on each one,

"Max I know you want that don't you? Any way to make you happy right? Well I know what's gonna be happy," the feeling in me was to grab them and hold them, so I did and she moaned loud, and I knew I couldn't go on, so I grabbed her shoulders and turned her around and now I was on top,

"Ooo Max don't be rough on me OK? I'm not a bad girl-

"Stop. Stop, look I don't want this, this isn't making me happy, forcing someone to be happy doesn't help, and you shouldn't do that for me, you came back for a reason yes? Then you should do that, how about you tell those people you fulfilled your duty and you can stop doing this OK?"

She looked at me first with discomfort then she smiled and tilted her head,

"Okay Max!" And she got up quick and zipped her jumpsuit back up,

"By the way, I know you were happy then and there I felt it," and she winked at me and opened the door and took off, man I felt embarrassed, I sat down thinking of what just happened, then Red came in,

"Uh Max, I can tell you met the person I warned about, but why is she yelling 'I made him happy' down the hall for?"

I just sat there in the same spot wondering why. What their purpose is, and what to say to Meagan, all these thoughts in my head are not helping at all, I just feel blank,

"Red you know Marina right?" Red looked at me concerned,

"Well yeah, look when you left the table early you worried Meagan. And then she came back crying and so I went-"

"Oh so now since the one trying to convince me now you change again? Now you aren't mad at me? I know what I heard this morning, ever since that lady told you that you don't have to worry about it now you want to help me again instead of helping you? What is their plan Red? Can you tell me that? And the whole thing about Orlando?" I stood up as I explained that knowing I wanted to say it since he went from not wanting to talk to me because I'm not helping, to now he wants to help me, today is a frustrating day for all of us,

"Max… I'm sorry for acting like that, I shouldn't have believed them, I felt scared earlier, knowing you would've been awake I would've talked to you about it, I can talk more about it later on why I need to talk to him, I'm sorry, again,"

We both paused, unaware of what just happened then and there to us, the reason he said later because someone is watching, I just can feel it,

"Man Red I'm tired of this, no more waiting games on this shit, I need to talk to Meagan and get things straight with her, but she won't believe me-" as i walked towars the door he put his hand on my chest,

"Hey Max since you helped me, I'll help you,: He whispers: I'll tell Meagan the plan that this place wanted to do with you, and I'll make sure to tell Marina that they changed plans with her, so stay here, I'll take care of it," and he walked off out the room,

Me and Red have never been in depth of an argument, but we resolved it quickly today, of how much just happened in a matter of hours just opened my eyes, I'm not going to sit here and have them play with me like that, I need to do something. Knowing he knew someone was listening as well means we are wasting time. How about it's time to make a plan, knowing they think I got one, but if I sleep and think right? It's barely 12, I have all day to think..
