1239 Visiting Kukui

Samson "You seem to be in a hurry to talk"

Samson said as he saw Julian waiting right outside his office, once they got in and sat down Samson got very curious as to why Julian is here.

Julian "Actually I visited one of the trial grounds today, the Verdant Cavern".

Samson "Oh, what happened?"

Julian "As specified in your files, I did meet the totem Gumshoos there but there was something off about it".

Samson "What was it?"

He asked.

Julian "You specified that even though Gumshoos is very territorial, it is not very aggressive but the pokemon I met today was the complete opposite, as soon as I entered the area it resides, it attacked it.

It tried to kill me from the get-go".

Julian said.

Samson frowned hearing this, this is very rare as most totem pokemons might be territorial and will attack trespassers but they don't try to kill, especially humans, pokemons are smart and totem pokemons are even smarter, they know that killing a human would only lead to more trouble for them so they try their best to avoid killing one.

If what Julian said is true, then other trainers who want to visit the trail grounds might be at risk.

Samson "Can you go into detail as to what happened?"

He asked. Julian nodded his head and started telling everything that happened, how he had to battle and subdue it, how he found a z-crystal inside its dwelling, about the plant that is growing on the ceiling of the cave.

Samson was surprised to hear everything that came out of Julian's mouth but what surprised him the most was the plant that Julian talked about, throughout his whole life here in Alola, he never knew about this plant.

The reason why he didn't know about it is that no one has ever tried to enter a totem pokemon's dwelling, a totem pokemon is almost as strong as a legendary pokemon and no one wants to risk angering them just to look into their dwelling.

But Julian did it, he went into the totem pokemon, knocked it out, looked into its dwelling, and found the secret behind their totem transformation.

All this knowledge was new to him and he wanted to learn more but he also knew that it is not the priority right now, right now he needs to focus on one that Julian said, Julian said that there was something wrong with the totem Gumshoos behavior.

Samson "I don't know why the Gumshoos would be so aggressive, from what you told me, it seems to have been already provoked before you arrived there or it would have no reason to just outright try to kill you"

Julian "What you say might be true"

Julian said and pondered about it.

Samson "Could it be those people that you talked about?"

Samson asked.

Julian "You mean the Cipher? I could be them but I have no idea. If there was only a way we could prove their involvement in this".

Julian said and wondered if he can find anything tracks left behind by these people.

At the end of the day, it's just speculation that Cipher was involved, there are infinite possibilities that something else could be involved in Gumshoos behavior.

Samson was also pondering about it when he thought of something.

Samson "Wait, there is something, the whole forest around Verdant cavern is fitted with wildlife motion capture cameras, maybe you can find something in them".

Samson said.

Hearing this Julian was relieved, if he could find something related to Cipher in these cameras, it could be an easy fix for Julian as he will just need to hunt them down and take them out but if Cipher is not related to this incident, he knows that an ordinary trainer's life might be at risk.

So he hopes it's Cipher and not an unknown factor.

He talked with Samson for a few more minutes before deciding to leave the old man to himself, even though the school is over, Samson still has a lot of work to do.

Julian doesn't plan to visit the forest again right now, he plans to visit Kukui and talk with him a little, though Principal Samson is a lead researcher when it comes to pokemon variants and totem pokemons, he doesn't know everything.

Now that Julian has learned that Z-moves and the secret to totem pokemons are one and the same and he wanted to know a little more about Z-moves and the most qualified person on this island is none other than his friend Kukui.

He already knows where Kukui lives so he won't get lost looking for Kukui, Kukui lives right next to the beach so it won't be hard to find his house.

When Julian got close to the beach, it only took him a few minutes to find Kukui's house, the house is decent in size and is made of wood but it looks very good.

Julian approached Kukui's house and noticed a little pokemon running around and playing in the sand, Julian looked at this puppy like pokemon and couldn't help but smile.

It's a Rockruff. The little pokemon was playing around when it suddenly lifted its head up and looked at Julian who just arrived, the little puppy rushed towards Julian with its tongue out and started to run around Julian and smell his legs.
