1 New world

A loud thunder-like sound caused Jiao Meiyu to rouse from unconsciousness. Dazedly, he pushed his body into a sitting position while rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

"Ai, what time is it? Why is it so cold?"

"A monster!"

Jiao Meiyu's eyes flung open.

A monster? Where?!

He frantically scrutinized his surroundings, but didn't see any monsters. Instead, there was a large entourage of people looking at him as if they'd seen a ghost. All of them were clothed in chinese robes and garments that he felt could at least date back to the Tang Dynasty. Are these people cosplayers?

Looking beyond, he could see large plots of green land and countless pathways leading towards all different kinds of buildings. Some big, some small, but all built in accordance with ancient chinese architecture.

He held his head. What is this?

Jiao Meiyu felt as if he'd been flung back into the old chinese times. But that wasn't possible!

Thinking back, he could clearly remember what happend. He had purchased a space cruise ticket in hopes of leaving earth, but before it could reach its destination, the spaceship's sirens went off and everyone started panicking. A couple seconds later, his vision turned blank.

And then he woke up here.

Not minding the odd gazes in the least, he began checking out his body for any injuries. He was still wearing his casual clothes from the space trip, and fortunately, there wasn't a single scratch on his body.

So, I didn't die. Maybe I arrived on the new planet already?

But where is everybody else?

Jiao Meiyu's mental analysis had come to a roadblock. Unable to piece the pieces together, he spoke up.

"Excuse me, does anyone know how I got here? Have you seen any other people arrive with me?"

Amongst the group was an elderly man dressed in a black robe. His expression was stern and his brows furrowed, but he was slightly taken aback when Jiao Meiyu spoke up.

"You don't know how you got here?"

"Not the slightest clue."

Everything went quiet. The old man didn't speak again.

Did I say something wrong?

He found the silence quite unable to bear. He began fumbling on his clothes while repeatedly yelling out in his heart, "How awkward!", before finally, although reluctantly, walking towards the elder who seemed to be lost in thought, lamenting spring and autumn.

"If you didn't see anyone arrive with me, it's okay. I'm just going to leave and search for them myself. Where's the exit?"

This time around, Jiao Meiyu's words didn't cause much of a reaction. The elder raised his head to look at him once more before asking a question.

"What's your name?"

"Jiao Meiyu."

The elder hummed in response before turning around and waving his hand.

"My name is Gao Zhao. You arrived here on your own, but there's no need for you to be in such a hurry to leave. Kao Dezhu, bring him to live in the junior quarters for the time being. "

"Yes!"

Jiao Meiyu was surprised, but before he could ask any further questions, the elder had already disappeared. With him gone, the crowd swiftly dispersed. Kao Dezhu, who was originally tasked to bring him to the junior quarters, had then instructed another student named Lin Huang to bring him here and left early to take care of his own matters.

He took it as an opportunity, though. Lin Guang was quite easy to talk to, so he sheepishly asked him a thousand questions until he could see his veins budge and pace speed up. Lin Guang obviously wanted to get rid of him as soon as possible, but in the end, Jiao Meiyu got from him what he wanted the most.

Information!

The young man, completely unsuspecting, revealed all that he knows, including the place where they are currently at, saying all there is to be said. Jiao Meiyu listened attentively and by the end, he felt his head spinning and his brain swelling.

As it turns out, he truly did arrive at a completely new world.
