25 Mercenary

The sun was hanging in the sky as Mada walked down the mountain with a meat of some demonic beast that he had just roasted earlier on hand. Rayious was happily chomping down the meat that he was carrying.

The two of them reached the end of the forest after a while of walking forward, and when they got out of the mountain what greeted them was a grassy plain that stretch over the horizon. There were no human life that can be seen anywhere.

Mada didn't continue his walking but first finished the meat that he was carrying, the meat was devoured by him in a manner of seconds and not even the bones was left when he was done with same with the meat that Rayious was eating.

They both released satisfied burps after the meal was done. The two of them looked at each other in the eyes excitement and expectation for what to come can be seen their eyes "Let's go."

Mada with his 'Shadow Steps' run in the grassy plains for 3 days without stopping, he was an Earthen realm cultivator now so his speed was faster than when it was in the past. The full on sprint training that he come up with last time when he was going home was being used by him now to its fullest.

He had achieved the Earthen realm because of the events that happened 5 years ago when he suddenly became a dragon. And according to Rayious the pores of his body was opened up by the vast amounts of light attribute energy that was on his body, the energy that was on his body that day was not up to his capacity so the energy made its way out of his body by opening all of the pores in his body making him break through to the Earthen that time.

But because of this transition of energy usage from only strengthening his body to using the energy outside of his body was too sudden so he was currently making use of the time while running so he can get use to the changes of the energy.

This pass 3 days this was the only thing that he focusing on and his improvements was immense and now he had more or less got use to it now.

Time pass by and another 2 days pass while travelling, at this time he only stopped one time when Rayious nagged him about being hungry so he went and hunted down a cat like demonic beast so they can eat.

After eating that meal Rayious became quiet and went back to the soul imprint to take a nap and before he went in he gave Mada a strict warning of not waking him up like he did before or else.

Replenishing his energy with that meal made him energetic so he went back to his training after resting for a while, at the 5th day he was doing his training he finally saw the first sign of human life he saw a travelling merchant that was on the road.

He asked for direction and got to know about a City 100 kilometers away west, he went west and directed his attention to the Sunlight City.

He used half the day before the Sunlight City entered his vision, he became ecstatic when he saw the City but before he could even enter the City he was stopped at the gates by the guard "Please pay the respective entrance fee before entering of 2 gold coins."

Thankfully Mada sold the beast core that he had gathered while he was hunting for demonic beasts for food, he paid the 2 gold and entered the City looking at the remaining 30 gold coins that he had with him made him sigh.

"Seems like I have to first solve the problem of my finances." Thinking about how his money was almost at the zero made him feel depress for himself [I missed the old times when I had those food readied for me, or even the beast cores that I have collected when I was in the Green Leaf Mountain would be nice if I have it with me sadly all this is on the distant past.]

Walking down the path and seeing the food stalls that was everywhere made him feel hunger so he went to one of the stalls in the side of the road that was selling some kind of meat dished and upon hearing the price of the meal that he was planning was 20 gold coins made him feel dejected, but the worse thing was that he still bought the meat dish leaving him with only 10 gold coins left.

"I have to find a way for me to earn some money." Thinking about this he walked to one of the people that looked like a citizen of the City and asked some questions.

"A way to make some money? There are many ways to make them in the City, you could apply for the guards and earn some income from it, oh right you looked to be a cultivator young man and even though I don't recommend given your age but still try to checked the mercenary guild."

Mada went to the place where the man directed him and immediately before he could even reached his destination he was able to see many cultivators that was in the vicinity. Mada looked at the mercenary around him conforming that he was in the right place.

In the distance stood a building that had a sign that was hanging on the wall that read [Mercenary Guild]. He walked in the Mercenary guild and what greeted him upon entering was the loud clamor of the people inside made.

"We are going to take this mission please confirm it. Thank you."

"No, we will not go there what would we do if we encounter the Black teeth devil? We are going to the star mines."

"Hahaha it took me one slash, one slash of my blade I tell you."

The people in the guild was loud but some of them quieted down the moment Mada entered the place, the eyes of the mercenaries men and women alike was being drawn to him like he was some kind of Magnet.

"Looked at that handsome young man, is he from some kind of aristocratic family?"

"Idiot if he is from an aristocratic family he wouldn't be here would he?"

"Well my bad, it is just that with that young and handsome face and that beautiful white hair wouldn't you mistake him from an aristocrat?"

"Can't deny that though."

The various talks in the mercenary guild flowed to Mada's ear attracting him. Walking to one of the counter that was in the guild made him excited like, when he reached the counter he saw a lade about 20 of age then he said "I want to take a mission."

"Okay, then please let me know the name of the mission that you want to take." The lady behind the counter spoke in a fast but understanding manner showing her professionalism to her work.

Hearing what the lady had just said Mada asked "You are not the one who assign the mission?"

The lady gave a long sigh "No, you will need to first pick one in the mission board over there and bring them to me." The lady pointed to the board that have many papers pasted on it.

Mada became embarrassed about his mistake, the ladies that have been talking on the side found the scene somewhat cute making them like him but the men on the other hand was not like the girls though the scene of the girls staring at one man made them feel bad.

Reaching the message board Mada looked at the missions that was plastered on the message board, Mada stayed there for a while looking at the various missions trying to find one that is suitable for him.

Finally he picked one mission and went back to the counter "This is the mission that I would like to register." He passed the paper to the lady and the moment the lady saw what the young man wanted to do she became startled.

"Kid this mission is not for someone at your caliber drop the idea of undertaking this mission and pick another one." The lady that was in the counter gave Mada a hard rejection, she was in charge of approving the mission of the mercenaries so she when she see a person trying to take a mission that is not suitable for them she would immediately reject it.

Mada who was rejected looked at the lady and gave her a looked of confusion [Isn't that mission one of the easier ones in that bunch so how come she says that it not of my caliber?]

"What do you mean not of the caliber?" Mada asked the lady on the counter.

"It means that your strength is inadequate for you to take on this mission, this mission of hunting the Unihorn Saber Tooth Tiger requires at the least a strength of the Earthen real. Don't think that you can do this yet do not be hasty kid." The lady gave him a thorough explanation.

The explanation didn't helped Mada at all it only made him feel confuse so he explained to the lady "Do not worry I am already at the Earthen realm so I think that this qualifies as a pass right? So if you still won't let me do the mission is it because of my age?"

Mada emitted the energy that was inside his boy out to proved that he was really at the Earthen real, only Earthen realm cultivators and higher can make their energy surge out of their body to fight their enemy so Mada thought that it would be easier to do it this way instead of explaining.

Everyone that was inside the building became silent the ladies that was talking on the sides didn't know how to react to the sudden change that the young man had suddenly underwent. The young man with white hair in their eyes immediately transform into someone frightening.

The man was on the side was even worse than the ladies, they had been hating on Mada and they were even about to try and mess with him but thankfully they still didn't do it, because the moment that theu mess with Mada all of the people in the mercenary guild knows that the person to mess with Mada will not be ending in a pretty manner.

[What the hell is this kid?]

[This kid is in the Earthen realm? It is lucky for me that I didn't mess with him or I would be dead by now.]

"Isn't this enough for me to qualify on this mission?" Mada spoke and as he spoke he quietly retracted the energy he was emitting back to his body making him looked like an ordinary young man like before.

The lady who was a the back of the counter heard Mada talked and with anymore delay she quickly approved of the mission then she spoke "Sir you have to first make a mercenary plate in order for you to get this mission."

"How do I make that mercenary plate?"

"It is easy just answer the questions that is written on this paper and after you are done just hand it over to me and I will do the rest." The lady was talking to Mada with respect now.

"Oh. Is that so?" Mada took the paper that was handed to him by the lady and quickly filled up the form without any delay, after he filled it up he passed it to the lady on the counter.

The lady then made some movements behind the counter and after a minute the lady handed him hi mercenary card on the very top of his Mercenary plate something was written [The Dragon Phoenix Mercenary].
