37 City Lords mission
Sol and Mada stood in front of a gate that have the height about three meters high, Mada look up the left and right to check if anyone were around them.
"Is this really the place? There seems to be no one in these place how are we suppose to contact those guys?" Mada complained they had been standing in front of that gate for around thirty minutes.
Sol didn't say anything and only kept her quiet the veil that was on her face didn't show any movements as she stood there unmoving, she was waiting for something then she opened her eyes and said to Mada "Their here."
Mada also felt the people coming from behind them so he turned around and looked towards the direction where the energy fluctuations came from and what he saw somewhat amaze him, in the distance there where around twenty people men and women mixed together.
They all had the look they had gone through hundreds of battle, they walked towards their directions and stopped in front of the City lord Manors gate, Mada look at them as if he was looking at something in a museum he thought to himself [these guys are good.]
Mada didn't make any unnecessary movements anymore, he showed the seriousness that he usually show when he was about to go into battle so he unwittingly emitted bloodlust and battle intent that can make many people suffocate.
Sol notice the change of attitude that Mada had just went to making her somewhat startled to know another side of him that she had not seen before at least not the kind that she saw previously [This guy is seriously unstable, he was moving all around the place earlier like an idiot now he's acting as if his someone that is about to fight someone to the death.]
The other mercenaries also notice the bloodlust that Mada was emitting making them on put their guard up against him, but one of them sneered at Mada and said to him "i suppose you're the one who brought back those Earth Golems in the Thousand Lotus Manor, so you like showing off huh, stop leaking that bloodlust of yours it isn't scaring anyone."
The man that just spoke was a middle age man that was about thirty-one years of age he was with a five man group all of them have that look of disdain when they look at Mada they obviously didnt put him in their eyes at all.
But despite the taunts that the man said to Mada he didn't say anything back to retort as he only stood there unmove by what the man had just said to him, because of what had just did the man was angered from being ignored so he walked towards him in anger.
Sol saw what was happening but just like before she didn't do anything as she only watch what was about to transpire, she was waiting on how Mada was going to handle the situation.
The man walked up to Mada and when he was only two steps away from him he emitted the bloodlust and battle intent that was inside him, the full force aura of a middle stage Earthen realm cultivator was unleash on that place.
The other mercenary turned their heads as they watch the commotion that the middle age man was causing, the moment that they saw who it was they all felt a little pity for the young man and irritated to the middle age person who was making all the noise.
"The Rhino's are at it again, they just love to show off their might to people around them huh."
"That kid ask for it letting that bloodlust emit out of him intentionally like he was picking a fight with us, his lucky that I don't like any useless fights or else I would have made a move against him myself."
"Wait isn't that the kid that is on the rise at the moment? You know the one who suddenly showed in the guild and took that mission of hunting the Unihorn Saber Tooth Tiger?"
"hoo, he's a rising star then but if his proud of that little accomplishment he wouldn't last long in this line of business, many upstarts appear here and there but all of them die the moment they get a little fame because they got cocky."
"Oh, don't take him lightly because it was not only because he killed a Unihorn Saber Tooth Tiger but because when he was out on that mission he didn't come back right away making people think that he was already killed but when he returned he was dragging a small hill of Earth Golems that he hunted in the Mist Valley."
A man about twenty years of age, the robe that he was wearing had an embroidery of a boulder into it same with the two people that was in front of him. The scar-faced man that was in front of him heard him and showed a looked interest when he heard him talked.
"So this guy is strong, that's what your telling me right, Little Jir do you know how strong he is? Any data that you have regarding his strength?"
"No he hadn't fought in the City openly the only record that he showed his strength was the time when he was at the Guild to prove that his strength was adequate to take a copper rank mission. Old Will said that he was only at the early stages of the Earthen realm so I don't think that he's that strong though." Jir said to the scar-faced man.
"We don't know what is the truth he must have only been hiding his strength at that time so we can't truly say, this kid is not that simple, see that girl beside him? The two of them have an air of mystery on them."
"Captain Bokir we still don't have much data on them besides there are rumors saying that the feat that he did was all fake that he was not the one who fought all those Earth Golem that he just found them by chance."
"We never know Jir, it might be right or it might be wrong, but he reaching that kind of strength at such an early age is not a false so befriending him is worth it." Bokir walked towards where the middle age man was making all that ruckus to help Mada resolve the trouble.
"Hey Horn that is enough!" Bokir called out to Horn as he tried to stop the fight but his voice was muffled by the sudden opening of the gate.
Horn stopped his a aura from leaking out, and gave Mada and Bokir a glare before making his way towards the opened gate and entering it with his group. Mada was still as unmoving as he was from the start like what Horn just did before didn't really happen.
Seeing the composure of Mada, Borkis who was about to help him earlier felt that even if Horn truly attacked him Borkis felt that he would still be able to take care of it himself.
Mad turned his head and saw Borkis who was a couple of steps away from him and made his way there. When Borkis was in front of him he had him a bow and said "Thank you for the help that you gave me earlier, my name is Mada from the Dragon Phoenix mercenary. What's your name brother."
Borkis looked at Mada and gave hearty laugh "I am Borkis of the Rock Splitter Mercenary, seems like you younger brother Mada is a Dragon among your peers. You didn't even flinched when horn was on your face earlier."
Mada also laughed "It's nothing the aura that he emitted was still being suppress so there were no danger for me, he was not really going to make a move on me we are in front of the City lord Manor's home so I figured that he wouldn't go that far."
Borkis laughed even harder this time around "Seems like younger brother here truly is different than other youths, but I must warn you to watch your back against that man, his name is horn and the leader of the Rhino mercenaries he is a man that hold grudges so watch your back."
"Thank you for the warning, are you guys also here for the mission that the City Lord mention in the letter?"
"Yes, seems like all of the mercenaries that have the strength of an Earthen realm cultivators was called in here, it seems like that the sickness of the City Lord's son have worsen so they are making us go to the black swamp to get a medicine." Borkis explained to Mada what he had known.
The two of them talked for a good time when their respective group mates called out to them "Seems like that we will have the opportunity to work together in the future."
The two of them didn't enter at the same but in different turns, Mada took out the letter that was inj his sleeves and handed it over to the old man that was by the gate there by confirming their intentions why they were there.
After giving the letter to the Old man they were instructed to go inside the manor and wait for the City Lord to make his appearance in there to talk about the job that they will have.
"What do you think Sol, the job we will have this time will make us earn big time in one go, so how much do you think that we should charge them for this?" Mada was now getting excited.
On their way towards the room that they were told to go to the two of them saw many valuable things that look like it cost a lot of money.
Sol only turned her head to look at him but said nothing to him, Mada sighed as he saw this happen he knew why Sol was acting this way, she said that she wanted to keep a low profile so she wouldn't stand out among the crowds and if Mada become the person in the light she would be able to peacefully hide away from her pursuer.
Well even if she hide her face with a veil, her body was alluring enough for her to garner attention from men and women alike, just like earlier when she felt the way the people around her was staring at her even though she was just standing there.
Thankfully Mada emitted that bloodlust and battle intent getting the attention away from her and be redirected to him in the process.
Walking in the hall full of pricy looking things Mada was filled with anticipation inside his heart [The pay this time would truly be big if we are able to do this the thing concerning funds for cultivation will be solve at least for now.]
When they finally reached the room where they were suppose to go to they were greeted by the mercenaries that first entered the City Lords Manor, Horn was also in there laughing by the side of some middle age man.
Seeing the arrival of Mada's group everybody stood up from where they were originally seated in and looked at the middle age man that was talking to Horn, that middle age man also stood up and spoke to them in a heavy tone.
"Thank you everyone for coming here, all of you are the strongest Mercenaries that I know in the City, as you might know I called you here for a particular job and if you are to accept this job and complete it I will try with all I have to meet your demands and I will assure you that the compensation you will receive will not be less than fifteen thousand spirit stones, and if you are not satisfied with the pay we can still talk about it in the future.
"You just have to do one thing for and that is to go in the Black Swamp and get the Blood Ginseng in there get that spiritual plants for me and I will compensated you for your hard work."
