17 Emerald

Shin is currently flying in the sky using his devil wings (as it's way faster to travel than using the float float fruit), with Scheherazade in his arms like a princess carry. After their sweet moment, they decided to not consummate their marriage as their are still too many things to do, but each of them promised that it will be unforgettable and pretty soon.

Merveille is currently just above the Whiskey Peak, before Shin could pickup his speed to head for Sabaody, Yggdrasil warned him about the "world traveler" mentioned awhile ago. She had located the person, which is located in Loguetown. So they're now headed there.

Upon arriving at the location, Shin had found traveler's exact location. Being a wanted person, he decided to not land within the town. He knows that there are marine and government spies everywhere and once found, will cause them a hassle. He's not afraid of the marines, however, since his wife, Scheherazade is with him, and she have not cope up with the world yet, she's still at her weakened state. He does not want any harm to come to her, so he also disguised himself to avoid notice. He had changed his clothes and equipped the clothes worn by Arno, on Assassin's Creed Unity. He also decided to use the HF Muramasa from Metal Gear Rising (it has a read scabbard instead of the usual black, it still retained it's original Tsuba and Tsuka) instead of using the Masamune, which is very eye catching with it's long ass length. Then to Scheherazade's annoyance, he donned a mask, that he got from the system, called "Haganezuka Hotaru Mask".

"(sigh).. I wish you don't have to hide your face husband, and why do you have to use that mask?? It's... (sigh). Please promise me to remove that and burn it after we're done here, pretty please?" (Scheherazade)

"I'm sorry, Scheherazade.. I promise I'll remove it, but I could still use this to annoy or play around with my enemies.. and don't worry, after the next training, we won't need to disguise ourselves anymore." (Shin)

"Hmmn.. If you say so husband. I'll listen to you.. but I want to hold your hand while we walk, ok?" (Scheherazade)

"Ohh! Lovers walking hand in hand while in a date. Your a genius Scheherazade! I would be more than happy to hold my wife's lovely hand." (Shin)

"Moo! Shin! Can you stop flirting! Your a husband and wife for crying out loud. You need to hurry or else!" (Yggdrasil)

"(Hahah, I'm sorry Yggdrasil, we'll go, but it's still normal for husband and wife to flirt you know~)" (Shin)

"Che! Whatever you say lover boy~" (Yggdrasil)

The two made their way to the town. Scheherazade was also wearing her veil as her beauty may cause a commotion on the town, especially in this world full or pirates. I might go overboard and kill my way in if they disrespected or even lay their lascivious eyes on her. I also had her change her clothes to a less revealing one.

The couple went through the town, most passerby turn their head to the couple. Either they were weirded out by Shin's mask, or the veil and the less revealing clothes could not hide Scheherazade's beauty. There were some who wanted to approach them but stopped before they could attempt it. They were terrified at the man beside Scheherazade, as he was releasing blood lust around him. The blood lust is almost tangible, because some of the men still tried to approach but after a single step, they were bathe by Shin's aura and collapsed unable to breath. The both ignored what's happening to their surroundings, and decided to head straight to their objective, due to the warnings of Yggdrasil to "hurry up".

They had arrived at the slum area of the town, and in front of them is a small wooden dilapidated house. Shin was confused, wasn't world traveler suppose to be above the masses by now? But he did sense that there people inside. One of them is struggling to stay alive, her life force is at it's end. The other two were releasing sorrowful aura.

Shin did not wait any longer. He went to the house, the door is unlocked, and barge his way in. Inside, what he saw as a sad scene. In the bed was an older looking girl, lying weakly a makeshift bed on the floor. The girl had light green hair ans supposedly a dark amber eyes, but since she's at her last breath, it was unfocused and cloudy. She was skin and bones, but it could not hide her dignified beauty. The girl must have suffered, and I feel that she's the one I'm looking for..

[One Piece Original World Traveler]

My name is Emerald. I was in an internship in a hospital as a nurse. After my shift, I help out in an orphanage near the hospital I'm working at. You see, I'm an orphan, but I do love children, and when I took care of the children in the orphanage, I think of them as my little sister and brothers. I could say that I'm content with my life, but from time to time, I will always think, "what if I have a family, my own sibling, how happy that would be?" (sigh).. My only hope is to make a family of my own but.. I don't know if I'm being picky. I'm still a virgin, and most (might be all) of my colleagues and classmates already had experience with the opposite sex, but what can I do? My heart seems to have grown cold, and still could not find that special someone, and I'm still waiting.

One day, my shift ended late in the evening. I won't be able to visit the orphanage today, and that made me sad. I guess, the children are my escape from loneliness.. I don't know. As I walk on the road back to my apartment, I saw a mother and child walking in the street. I'm not sure if they noticed, but there's a truck at the opposite end of the street with it's headlights off! and heading their way. What's wrong with trucks lately? I screamed and yelled, but it seems they they can't hear me? My body moved on it's own, and I sprinted towards the mother and child.. I jumped, and was able to pushed them both off the truck's way. In the end, I know what will happen next. The mother and child duo looked at me in terror and what may have happen to them and what's going to happen to me. It was too late. The truck hit me, and thrown my at quite a distance. You can imagine how much the impact the truck did, to make my fly so far.

It hurts so much! I can really feel most if not every bones on my body broken and in pieces. My breath was ragged, and my sight is becoming dim. My whole life flashes through my eyes. Do I feel regret? Yes and No. No, I don't regret saving the mother and child, and Yes, for when I die, I did still did not accomplish my dream of having a family..

Next time I woke up, I was in a small room. Across from me is a small child, around 6-7 years old with green hair, sleeping peacefully. As I look around, the room is not one like in a hospital, it was more of a home. I'm sure that I died from that accident, a human won't be able to survive from being hit by a truck head on, and besides that, I still feel an ache here and there, but I can still move and seems that I'm without any broken bones? I do feel a great pain in my legs. I lifted the blanket that was covering me, and I was shocked at what I saw, my legs.. they're full of scars, and still fresh. Now that I'm aware, the pain increase when I slightly move them. What the heck is happening? I was awakened from my musing when the little girl across me woke up.

"Onesan?" (Sugar)

"One.. san..? Urrghh!!" (Emerald)

And then it hit me. I screamed! The pain in my head was excruciating. Huge information, images surfaced in my mind like a tidal wave. It was about a life.. the life of the original owner of this body that I know reside in. And about this world.. this is.. the world of One Piece?

I knew about One Piece manga and anime. I enjoyed watching and reading the manga on my free time, and before bed. I even waited, in anticipation, for the next chapter and I couldn't believe that I'm part of it now..?

Base on the images that I saw, the body that I've taken over, her name was Emerald. The eldest of 3 siblings, with two younger sister, Monet and the child across me should be Sugar. These names.. they're familiar.

They're orphaned children, with no other relatives to care for them, so Emerald took upon herself to raise her sisters.

Their father, after being promised a job under a merchant, never came back when they went out on voyage to the neighboring islands. With no one left to support them, their mother worked herself to death, became sick and died early. After that, the sisters had lived an impoverished life. It was a tragedy one after another.

Then, a few days ago, Emerald encountered trouble. She was working as delivery girl and just sometime ago, she failed to deliver an important package on time, and she was punished severely because of it, and was almost beaten to death, her legs suffering the most. At that time, the owner were screeching out "you don't need this useless legs!!!". Not a single person cared, even when Emerald was screaming and begging for help. It was an unfair world where the strong prey on the weak.

And now, I really don't know what to do.. how can I support my remaining family, while I'm like this, unable to walk.. or move.. instead, I will definitely become a burden to them.

"Oneechan! What's wrong? Does it hurt? Monetttt!!! Oneechan is in pain!! (Sniff)" (Sugar)

Sugar yelled calling out Monet who was probably outside. I gritted my teeth as the pain is already subsiding bit by bit. I reach out to Sugar and hug her, to let her know I'm fine. Because of sudden movement, I was once again wrack with pain, and it almost rendered me unconscious. Then the door suddenly opened, and came a young girl with a shoulder length wavy her light green hair and brown eyes. I guess, this is Monet, my other younger sister?

"Sugar! Emerald!! What's wrong? Your wounds, they're bleeding! Let me help you back.." (Monet)

"(Now I remember! These two will join Doflamingo's crew in the near future, and Monet will die at the hands of Caesar in Punk Hazard..) I'm sorry Monet.. I'm useless, a burden to you.., you shouldn't worry about me.. this is nothing okay?" (Emerald)

"Don't say that you're useless oneechan. You're never a burden. Without you, we would have been starved to death. Now, it's my turn to take care of you both!" (Monet)

"(sigh) If you say so, then I'll be counting on you from now on Monet (smile), you're such a great sister, we're really lucky to have you." (Emerald)

"Ehe~ (blush) Don't mention it oneechan. I'll do my best." (Monet)

From then on, Monet was the one that worked for the three of them, just to ensure that they have food to eat at the end of the day. But life is a bitch, and fate seems to be against them. Monet was barely able to get by and most of the time, could only bring food good for one person and sometimes, none at all.

Emerald would pretend that she had eaten enough, then gave her portion of food to her siblings. Emerald was able to fool Monet since she's still young but would find out when it was too late.

As days go by, because Emerald's body was not getting any nutrition and even lacking of food, her condition got worst. It's a miracle that she lasted a year, and then, came the current situation. The day she strongly knew that she won't live past the day, she was just holding on by a thread. She felt that her "second" death is coming. And life was flashing over her mind, which gave her more regret.

She, a reincarnated person, was given a second chance, just started her new life immediately became a burden to her new family.

The once in a lifetime chance of a grand adventure in the One Piece world, to be a pirate or a marine and to finally find love.

As she was struggling to breath, to say even a few more seconds, gazed at her sibling beside her holding her hands. They were both crying furiously, especially Monet who had learned of what her sister did, and sacrificed herself for them. She was naive, and thought that everything would be fine, that her sister will get well soon. Then she learned that her sister barely ate the food she brought home. She was blaming herself for being weak and at fate for making them suffer so much!

"Oneechan.. why did this happen to us? Did we do something wrong, that we- no, you had to suffer this much?! You told me about fate. That fate brought us together.. then why did fate made you suffer so much?" (Monet)

"If fate made your sister suffer, all of you suffer.. do you want to challenge fate once more, and escape this life and grasp a new one for you and your sisters?" (???)

"(Gasp!) Who- who are you? What do you want?" (Monet)

Emerald also noticed the man that suddenly spoke. She tried focusing her blurry eyes at the man, and once she got a good look at him, her weak heart suddenly beat faster. It was a strange feeling.. it was the first time she felt like this.. she was on her deathbed, and did love, strangely find it's way to her finally?

Shin was staring at the three girls. Even though they're covered with dirt, it's really noticeable that they all had beautiful green hair, with different shades. First, the youngest, with the vibrant green hair, the second with light green, and the eldest, lying on the makeshift bed, should have an emerald colored hair, but due to her illness, it was mixed with gray.. like a dying leaf.

Shin asked again, looking at the second sister, with the light green hair. He know that she's Monet when he first seen Sugar, and then her. He was confuse, as the canon did not mention an elder sister.

"I ask you once again, do you want to resist fate, and change your destiny?" (Shin)

"Ye-yes!! I want to change my destiny, and the destiny of my sisters. I'm tired of this suffering and pain! (crying)" (Monet)

"Very good! Then come with me. Bring your younger sister as well. From now on, you'll be working with me as a companion and as part of my crew. We'll not let fate bind us. I'll make you strong, stronger than everyone here in this world!" (Shin)

"My sister, what about my sister? Will you also take her with you, will you save her?" (Monet)

"Tsk.. it may be too late for her. You know that she's dying.. right? It's even a miracle that she's still alive.." (Shin)

"NO!! It.. cant be.. uuwaaahh!!" (Monet)

Monet run to him, and he allowed Monet to cry on his shoulder. He knew, just from looking, that they suffered. Shin patted her back and pacified her. His next word gave her home for her sister.

"I said it may be too late. There's still a chance, and it will be up to you.. right miss re....." (Shin)

Emerald woke up from her daze, and was shocked at what the man mouthed on her at the end of his sentence. He know that she was a reincarnated person. This also gave her hope, and may indeed have a chance to keep her life.

Shin told Monet and Sugar to go outside, telling them that he will talk to their sister alone, and if she agreed, may save her life. The two agreed immediately and hurriedly go. Now that they were alone, Shin stared at the girl's amber eyes and spoke:

"So what will it be? Do you still want to live in this world or go into the afterlife?" (Shin)

"I-I (huff) want to (huff) live!" (Emerald)

"Then do you know that you have a system in you? If you-" (Shin)

"It's yours (huff) I give it to you, sir.. (wheeze) willingly.. I just learned of (huff) it awhile ago (huff) but it's no use..." (Emerald)

"Then I accept! Than you, miss?" (Shin)

"Emerald!" (Emerald)

"Emerald.. what a beautiful name. It suits you. Then emerald, I'll get straight to the point. Listen to me carefully, and just nod if you agree. I have an ability, where I can keep your soul and give you another body. Your current body is a lost cause. However, due to your weak soul, at the beginning, you won't have any memories of anything, and will be similar to a servant that obeys it's master unconditionally. Your soul will be sealed, to ensure that it won't break. As time goes by, and your soul becomes stronger, so your new body, and bit by bit, your memories will return, until you gain them all back and return to your sister. It may take years again to see your sister, missing most of their life. So what will it be? Do you agree, miss Emerald?" (Emerald)

"I agree (huff) and.. thank you!" (Emerald)

"Then goodbye for now, I will convey this to your sister. Don't fail them." (Shin)

"... sigh..." (Emerald)

Right after Emerald's life force ceased, a single word came out from Shin's mouth, like a command from a king..

".... ARISE....." (Shin)
