2 Gorgonian Army, A Knight's Strength

"Enemy Attack! Everyone, get to your positions.

"Shit, they found our camp, Jax go to the infirmary and warn your brother about the situation."

Andre told Jax in a serious tone seeing that the situation has gotten dire

"Got it." replies Jax as he dropped the bowl of food on the ground and started to run towards the infirmary.

Seeing his brother run into the infirmary with a serious look on his face, Aiden couldn't help but ask.

"Why do you have such a serious look? What's happening to the outside, The noises outside got louder and heard a yell but I couldn't hear it from where I am".

"The Gorgonian Army is coming to attack at this very moment. Grab your gear and be ready to run. Said Jax.

"I'm fine I can still fight, I can still swing my sword." said Aiden, determined to fight alongside his brother. He was starting to get up before Jax yelled.

"No! How could fight in such a state? You're just gonna hold me back if you go out there and fight," Rebuking Aiden's action.

"Fine!" Aiden dejectedly said, seeing Jax stern look.

"Good, just stay here and if the situation becomes dire, run!" commanded Jax.

Even though Jax was younger than Aiden, he stilled listened to him. Even though Aiden won't admit it, he isn't as smart or strong as Jax. But even though his brother outshines him, he was never jealous. They were brothers, they had each other's back and would never abandon each other.

Seeing that his brother won't disobey, Jax then turns away and exits the building.

The situation outside was a mess, soldiers were running back and forth getting into position, more and more archers are posting up the walls readying their bow for the oncoming onslaught.

The ground started shaking louder than ever, the sound of the Gorgonian Army, getting closer by the second.

As Jax gets into position with his squad someone calls out to him

"There you are Jax, I thought you abandoned the squad."

The Person who was talking to him was squad captain Leo. Leo's been his squad captain for a half a year now, so he knew that he was joking when he said that he thought Jax was abandoning the squad and vice versa, ever since fighting alongside Jax for 6 months, he knew that Jax wouldn't dare to abandon his comrades.

"You know I wouldn't dare to abandon you guys. I mean, without me, you guys would've died long ago," Jax said looking at his captain all suited up for battle.

"I know that already, we fought together for 6 months now. If I didn't figure out a little of your character I shouldn't be your squad captain." laughed Leo before looking towards the incoming army.

"Here they come, prepare yourself!"

As Jax was behind 10's of thousands of other soldiers, it took him awhile to see the approaching army, but even if he couldn't see them. He could tell that the army was massive due to how much the ground was shaking.

The moment the Army came into sight he couldn't believe his eyes. 'We won't be winning this fight, their army is massive compared to ours. They probably have at least two times more than ours.'

What Jax saw was an army of 100,000 soldiers of cavalry and footmen donned with the same equipment like them but with a black uniform. The number of men in the Galing kingdom only amounted to 50,000. Jax was right about being outnumbered by 2 to 1.

As the army gotten closer the soldiers of the Galing army was getting more distressed. They started to panic seeing such a massive army and wanted to flee. But they couldn't, cause if they were caught trying to flee they would be court-martial which could lead to the death of their family and themselves.

Before the Gorgonian Army charged the Galing Army they stopped. A moment later a soldier from the opposing came in front of them delivering a message.

"By the order of General Rex, I command you to surrender and submit to the Gorgonian Kingdom"

The commander then yells in a angry voice

"We won't be surrendering to no Gorgonian scum. Fire the arrows and don't stop firing. We may most likely die but at least take down one of those piece of shits before we do."

Hearing the command, the Galing archers let loose their arrow, pouring a rain of blackness over the unprepared army.

thousands of the soldiers of the opposing sides fell, only those who had quick reactions or those who used their own comrades were as a meat shields were able to live the pour of arrows.

But even though a thousand was a lot in number, it was pretty negligible to an army of 100,000. they could replenish those numbers with prisoners after winning a battle.

Seeing that the Galing Commander did such a despicable move, General Rex didn't waste a single moment and commanded his army to charge.

10's of thousands of men started charging at them fearlessly causing the morale to slightly drop in the Galing Army.

Seeing that the army was getting closer the commander shouted to everyone

"Remember! If these bastards pass us, they get a straight passage to Forma Castle. The men stationed there are less than us. So clearly they won't be able to hold off for long. Everyone steel your hearts! Take a moment to think about your mom, your dad, your son, your daughter and ingrain them into your mind! Remember, that if we die so will them! So fight for them! Fight for their protection! Fight for our Victory!

"For Victory" Everyone soon shouted.

After hearing the speech, the morale of the army risen to an all time high. Everyone was willing to fight to the death so that they can protect their family,

"Here they come!" someone shouted.

"Charge!" shouted the commander

The both sides soon clashed. sword could be heard clashing, shouts and cries could be heard from soldiers from both sides.

Jax was slicing soldier from the opposing side left and right.

After being in the army for 6 months, Jax sword skill would clearly be better than a fresh troop who just joined his first battle. Plus, Jax had a talent with swords.

So he was sometimes better than soldiers who fought longer than him and he usually fought in the front lines gaining killing experience.

After killing another soldier, Jax then moved onto the next he could find. But the one he found soon after wasn't an ordinary soldier.

Noticing that Jax was charging towards him, the soldier turn to Jax and prepares for Jax's slash.

The two swords soon clash and stayed connected for a while.

"Oh, I see that you're stronger than the usual footmen," the soldier said to Jax. Looking at Jax, he could see that Jax wasn't willing to talk, so he talked again

"But it's a shame you met me, if you didn't, you could've lived for at least another day" soon after he moved back disconnecting the two swords and lunged at Jax. He soon started slashing towards Jax's chest but was stopped by Jax's sword.

Jax sweated, to stop that sword Jax had to use 80 percent of his strength. 'How strong is this guy, such a soldier wouldn't fight in the front lines. Who is he?'

He could see from the soldiers body and voice that the soldier was at least 30 years old. The soldier had a cold voice and even though he looked skinny, he was pretty built.

The soldier as well was questioning why a person such as Jax was fighting on the front lines. With such a strength, he would be at least in an elite squad. Not a ragtag team of peasants.

"You could even take that blow too huh," said the soldier as he furrowed his eyes.

"Why is someone like you in the front lines, when you could easily be in an elite team?" questioned the soldier.

"A peasant like me can't have a chance to join an elite full of nobles." Jax replied back,

"It's a shame, but let's stop talking. If I keep fighting like this, I'll just wear myself."

Soon after speaking the soldier's blade started to glow with a silver hue.

Seeing the glow, Jax couldn't help but cry out "Sword Energy! Why is there a knight on the front lines."

"The best way to cultivate Sword Energy is to kill. For every person I kill, I absorb a little Sword Energy from their body." the knight replies back

When a person is able to cultivate sword energy, that person is classified as a knight. Knights were nightmares on the battlefield, A single knight could easily kill 100 soldiers alone in battle. There were even rumors that a single Knight massacred a city alone.

"Let's get this over with, hah." The knight then charged at Jax again, slashing towards him.

Jax again prepared to stop the sword. But the moment the swords clashed, the knights sword cut right through Jax's sword and cutting through his body.

Jax screamed in pain and fell to the ground as he looked at the Knight with hatred.

"This amount of sword energy is almost comparable to an initial, 1 star knight apprentice. If you kept on fighting, you could've become a knight but sadly you met me," said the Knight emotionless as he looked at Jax writhing in pain.

Jax was scared but at the same time he was mad.'Why do we live this life? why did we peasants have to experience such ordeals? Screw the nobles, screw the kingdom, screw them for making our lives miserable, screw them for the death of my mom!

If I had the power, I would make a life where everyone where could live in happiness. With power I could make a life where everyone can see a better future.'

Seeing that Jax didn't die immediately, the Knight walked towards Jax and said

"For a peasant, you made me use my Sword Energy and allowed me to almost breakthrough to 2 stars initial knight. Die in peace knowing that."

completing his sentence the Knight then stabbed the sword down towards Jax's body on the ground, piercing his body.

Jax didn't scream in pain like last time but instead grit his teeth an endure the pain. 'I'm sorry Aiden, you're gonna have to live on ahead without me. Mom, your son is coming to you now. You don't need to wait anymore.

He then closed his eyes and awaited to be sent away to the heavenly planes.
