1 Who am I.....?

"Who am I? I can't remember anything; I can't feel anything; how much time had passed? Who am…...", In a place of complete blackness, a grey transparent figure of a man sitting on the floor hugging both of his legs. He has been absentmindedly repeating those words for an unknown amount of time.

If someone were to observe the man since his imprisonment, he would realize that a layer of light around him is getting brighter as time goes by. Every time the light increases in brightness, the dark place shakes and turns grey for a split second.

One day, the man started to regain his focus only to be welcomed by a head-crushing pain as if his brain was boiling and turning into mush. With the pain rushed floods upon floods of distorted and incoherent memories. Confused and agonized, the man began to scream, unable to calm down.

At the same time, a fissure opened in space in a booming fashion, reviling a winged woman with a godly presence. "Come over here, lost one, quickly," she shouted at the man with a face full of urgency. But with no response, only screams of agony. The woman tried to rush over and grab the man but was blocked by an invisible barrier preventing her from entering the world of black.

Having no choice, the woman kept shouting with a terrible expression. After a while, the pain subdued, and the man regained his senses, but instead of checking his surroundings or answering the woman's pleas, he was lost in thought with every gained memory feeling familiar yet strange. All of what he was thinking is one question.

"Who am l?...." Even after such an event, the question remained the same. A question that seems easy for anyone else, but for the man, it was like trying to fill a fishing net with seawater.

After contemplating the question for a while, he finally answered the woman. "Shut it," He said while emitting an aura of authority.

The woman froze, not believing such a reply was directed to her. She was about to say something when a swirl of heavy dark matter shoots toward her, passing through the invisible barrier. With only one wave of her hand, the swirl was easily dissipated, but the newly opened fissure started to lose its balance and close.

Desperation could be seen on the woman's face. Opening a spatial fissure into the contrition cell was no easy matter. An effort akin to mobilizing a whole Network. Combining that with the soulless cell warden being aware of the Insurgence interference, opening the cell again is an impossibility.

Replacing desperation with determination, the woman tossed a multi-faceted gem with alternating colors into the cell just before the fissure's total closure. The gem passes the barrier as if it does not exist, and hits the man on the head, and fuses with him. As if the man froze, he lied straight on the floor. A blinding rainbow light completely enveloped him.

The soulless warden let a quavering scream and wrapped himself with a blanket of darkness. But remained watchful of the lost one.

In a place of extreme lavishness sat a humanoid creature that looked normal, except for a missing torso.

The doors of the place were smashed open, letting through a figure in black. "Sir, sir, the lost one, the lost one escaped the cell."

"Details," the creature said, trying to keep his composure.

"The Insurgence, they took it and used it inside the cell," the subordinate responded.

"Destination?" the creature said in a trembling voice, failing his attempt to keep calm.

"The cultivation world," said the subordinate.

"Hahaha, the world of brainless young masters and jade-like beauties," the creature said In relief.

"That's The problem. It's not That cultivation world; it's the emergent sister world.", the subordinate clarified.

"Damnit, I'm done for. You, prepare a pardon request in advance; I'm going for a trip", with that the creature disappeared from sight.
