9 Chapter 9 : Dwarves

Gondil was the chief of his tribe, he received his title of chief at the death of his father.

He was very proud of his title as the best hunter of his tribe, he was the most gifted with the axe and his brother Utdreal was an excellent blacksmith who supplied him with the best weapons which made his position as chief indisputable.

He had just left the hunt with three of his most loyal soldiers when suddenly a giant monster of about ten meters emerged from the forest and crushed a house, the monster immediately panicked the inhabitants of the tribe.

Seeing this, he was afraid for a short moment but he immediately recovered because he was the chief of the tribe, he ordered his soldiers to launch the offensive.

But before he had time to finish his sentence, his soldiers had already fled.

Meanwhile the monster began to spit fire burning the surrounding houses, killing more than a dozen people in a matter of seconds.

Seeing this, he gritted his teeth and raised his axe and charged the monster with a loud scream, but even before his axe hit the monster, the monster hit him with one of his paws. him, making him fly about ten meters before falling heavily to the ground.

He spat blood on the ground as he saw the monster destroy the surrounding houses without being able to do anything.

"Is this the end of my tribe?"

But as soon as that thought crossed his mind, he suddenly saw two swirling blue balls hit the monster, knocking it backwards.

A man resembling a male dwarf-like figure, but with a taller waist and black hair, came in front of the monster exuding a power that made his soul tremble with fear.

"Is it a god?"

. . . . .

James, whose body was surrounded by mana, approached the monster that had just risen from the ground after being hit by two mana balls.

The monster roars, opens its mouth and spits flames towards James.

James, his feet covered in mana, leapt toward the monster avoiding the flames, then fell on the monster's head and concentrated his mana in his hands.

"Mana Blade"

He sliced the monster's neck, which roared in pain as blood spurted from its neck.

But before James could completely decapitate him the monster suddenly rolled to the ground, James fell off his head and landed on the ground on his back before getting up immediately.

The dying monster opened its mouth to Jame and spat a fireball at him.

James concentrated a large amount of mana in his right hand, the mana began to swirl around on his hand and became thinner and sharper, making his arm look like a spear.

"Mana spear".

A swirling blue spear was thrown from the hand of james and pierced the fireball without any difficulty before piercing the monster's head, crushing its skull in an instant.

Blood spurted out, splashing james and the surrounding area, almost making him want to vomit.

"Shit, can't you just die without getting me dirty?"

James wiped the blood from his face with a sigh as he turned around and saw behind him dwarf women and men leaving their hiding places and heading towards him.

Among them was a muscular dwarf with short red hair carrying a large bronze axe that immediately caught James' eye.

The dwarf stopped in front of James and said words that James did not understand and then he knelt on the ground and looked at James with admiration.

The other dwarves seemed surprised whispering among themselves with a shocked expression a moment before quickly kneeling down and shouted incomprehensible words together with admiring looks at James.

James did not understand the situation and scratched his hair with an expression that clearly said:

"Can someone please explain the situation to me?"

. . . . . .

Three weeks had elapsed since James was invited to stay by Gondil, James learned in the meantime the language of his strange beings, their language although more developed than that of his tribe was still rustic, learning such a simple language was not a problem for a Hyperpolyglot like him.

James got to know this tribe and studied it carefully.

The tribe counted more than 1257 people and could be considered as a big tribe, they mastered the refinement of the bronze they extracted from a mine a few kilometers away from the tribe, they were also gifted in the refining of leather and in construction.

James without hesitating gave up his wilderness outfit for a more comfortable leather outfit with even leather boots as a bonus, he also received as a gift a rustic bronze dagger but still well made for that time, made by Gondil's brother.

It was at this point that James realized that this breed had incredible potential for craftsmanship.

His tribe before it was destroyed had not even a tenth of the technology of these dwarves as he named them.
