Meeting with Wang Chao Part 2

"Wang Chao greets the crown prince!" Wang Chao said while bowing slightly, even though he currently had the opportunity to have a higher status than Wang Wei, if he didn't succeed in completing the trial, he would have to accept the consequences of disrespecting the crown prince.

Therefore he still bowed just in case and because Wang Chao and Wang Wei had a good relationship Wang Wei then said to him in a polite tone "Cousin Chao why is half of the city dead?".

As soon as Wang Chao heard that his eyes darkened and a sour expression appeared on his face, he then went on to explain the situation to Wang Wei.

Wang Wei when he heard that had a moment of realization and understood the conundrum that Wang Chao was facing.

Even though Wang Wei didn't like the approach that Wang Chao took in the moment of anger he still understood.

After all, once someone that you have nurtured for such a long time betrays you, it is possible to lose control over yourself even as a cultivator.

But for Wang Chao, the situation was much worse because it wasn't just a single person that betrayed him but almost an entire civilization that he nurtured for two entire centuries until they rose above the savages they were previously.

Unfortunately, even though Wang Wei was trained to be an emperor since his birth ruling over people was never his specialty even with the experience of his previous life.

And so he had no idea as to how to help Wang Chao solve his current problem, and when he told Wang Chao this he just nodded with an expression of disappointment on his face.

After that Wang Chao invited Wang Wei into the palace and lead him to the grand banquette hall, while twenty servants started serving the table with delicious food and as they did so the servants kept their eyes glued to the floor.

As Wang Wei didn't need to eat at all, he felt that it would be sad for all of this food to be thrown away, so he spoke up and said to the servants "Why don't you all sit down and eat with us?".

However, what he didn't expect was for all of them to immediately give the negative answer and after thinking for a while he understood their point of view. Why would they want to risk causing anger in the homicidal emperor?

Nonetheless when Wang Wei looked at Wang Chao's face after he said that he saw a look of extreme confusion on his face as Wang Chao said "Why would you ask the peasants to sit with us?".

Wang Wei knew that this response was a typical response that almost every member of the Wang Dynasty would give. After spending years upon years in the Wang family Wang Wei knew deeply the feeling of superiority that each of the family members carried with them.

The Wang family was the ruler of the entire galactic group around the higher realm and they lorded over trillions of beings be it in the Higher realm or the many many Lower realms surrounding it.

That in and of itself would cause feelings of superiority within an individual however this was amplified a thousandfold by the way that the Dynasty governed the Higher realm.

The entire Higher realm was set up in a way that made cultivation extremely difficult if you were not from the Wang family or affiliated with the Wang family because all of the resources were being taken from the entire higher realm and siphoned towards the Wang family members.

So that caused a massive divide in the Higher realm and if you didn't join the Wang family in some way, either marry into the family or agree to work for the Wang Dynasty it was extremely difficult for you to cultivate past the Nascent Soul realm.

Since that was the case, the Wang family members through the millions of years of such an unfair system began to see themselves as better than the common people.

And to see Wang Wei, the crown prince of the Wang Family ask a bunch of mortals of all things to eat at his table was so puzzling to Wang Chao that his brain almost short-circuited.

Wang Wei felt that it was the duty of all practitioners of Buddhism to spread the teachings of the Buddha therefore he patiently explained to Wang Chao that he felt that even though he was stronger than them he should still treat all living beings with kindness.

Nonetheless even after explaining that Wang Chao was still not convinced and the thought passed through his brain that the crown prince might have gone crazy, after all growing up and having these ideals instilled in your head was hard to wash off.

However, even though Wang Chao and Wang Wei weren't aware of it a seed of doubt was planted within his subconscious mind.

Wang Wei was a bit disappointed to see that his speech hasn't achieved anything so he switched the subject onto the cultivation methods they have both developed.

As this was the original reason Wang Wei came to this continent, Wang Wei wanted to find inspiration in the cultivation technique of other people since he has thought long and hard and even after consulting the Heavenly Will he still had no idea on how to proceed after cleansing his soul.

And the reason he couldn't just ask the Heavenly Will the way Wang Chao and the others cultivated was because when he tried to do just that the Heavenly Will refused to respond to him, probably because the Ancestor wanted to prevent this kind of situation from occurring.

Therefore Wang Wei immediately asked Wang Chao how to cultivate in his cultivation method, however, Wang Chao wasn't naive and so he said that they would both write down their own cultivation path on a piece of paper and then exchange them at the same time.

Once they completed the exchange Wang Wei was shocked to his very core to learn about the spirit orifices inside of the body of every person.

When he read that he was very very curious where those spirit orifices were located within the body. However when he tried to use his spiritual sense to probe the body of Wang Chao an unexpected event occurred...
