You see I can sing and dance. I am smart and I know how to defend myself. When I was 12 years old someone approached me and my mom. She was tall, very fair and such a beauty. She offered my mom something, an agreement about me. As an intelligent child, I know what she's babbling about. She want to train me. She said she saw something within me that a normal child could never had.

Sure I am smart and I have accelerated many times in elementary. Well, I was supposed to be accelerated but my mom and dad didn't let that happened. They want me to learn like a normal child, like every average student in my school. But that doesn't mean I haven't entered any competition that includes intelligence and talent.

My mom was hesitant. I, was too, hesitant. We just met the lady. We don't know what she's capable of me. There are so many possibilities if my mom would agree and we don't know if she's telling the truth. She looks grand and expensive. And we don't trust anyone who appears like that.

Mom looked at me for a few moment and then smiled. Her gaze went back to the astonishing lady and said that I am one of her treasures and she won't risk me to her.

My lips stretched into a wide grin. My mom isn't that smart compared to my knowledge. My dad too isn't that brainy. My brothers are all average student but here I am standing out in the family. My mom gently carresed her palm on my hair. I love it when she does that.

The lady was a bit taken back but then smiled in the end.

"I agree with you. If she was my daughter I won't risk her to someone like me," she said. Mom nodded two times and thanked her for understanding.

The lady let out a sigh and gazed upon me.

"Ano ang pangarap mo?"

I was surprised at the same time got puzzled. She san talk in tagalog. Well, judging by hear appearance and the way how she speak in english. I know she's a foreigner or maybe some tourist. I recovered from the feeling and smiled politely to her.

"Ang maiahon ang pamilya ko po sa kahirapan."

The lady's face brighten up as if I just told something that switched on her happy button.

We're not rich. That's why I'm studying hard for my future. May kung ano pang sinasabi ang babae kay mama at sa huli ay nakita ko itong nagbigay ng isang calling card.

"Call me if you change your mind." She smiled again. "Call me if you want your child's future to shine more brighter."

Reminiscing the past, I know my mom made the right choice. For I don't have only one goal for my self. I have potential. That's why my mom chose the brighter future for me.
