1 Where I am ?

One rainy evening, at the bottom of a cave, there were two enormous snakes spanning at a length of about twelve meters - They were a couple.

It was evident that the body of one snake was convulsing, so her companion approached her, and wrapped his tail around her, warming the female snake up.

"You have to stay with me. Just think about our child. I can't protect him without you." Snar said beggingly.

"You are right. I will do my best for the love for our child." Pril responded as she reassured her partner and herself.

There, at the bottom of the cave, an egg could be seen, one that was special. A snake egg that was very big even for this world that it even frightened the parents. It was because, if one would go up the family tree, they would see that these two long snakes were descendants of Jormugandr, the world eater.

Normally, all parents would be happy to learn that their offspring were of noble lineage, and that they could become powerful. Withal, it could also cause problems, such as being chased away by the other races to defeat the bloodline of monsters that had the power of the ancient god.

"If only we were more powerful, we can do anything. For the reason that, in this world, we acquire our power from our blood, and the only way to become stronger is to devour someone stronger than us, but we can't do that." Snar uttered with a heavy disappointment in his tone, landing his gaze on the egg.

"Don't even think about it" Pril said as she straightened her body in front of the egg, trying to scare her companion.

"Don't worry. I wasn't planning on doing anything. I just think that he's lucky to have this bloodline."

"We don't even know if he has it, and I hope he just has a mutation. If he has the blood of the world eater, it will be very dangerous for him, since we won't be able to protect him."

"You're right, let's not think about it and go to sleep."

He began to wrap his tail around Pril. The woman also wrapped her tail around Snar. Then and there, they fell asleep while staring at their child.

Meanwhile, inside the egg, the small life form enclosed by it began to move.

'What's going on? I wasn't supposed to be dead and where I am?' Bagir thought, confused at his situation.

He started to look around, yet all he could see was endless darkness. He knew that he was dead, but animals indeed end up to dust when they die, and there's no place for them in heaven nor hell.

He began to remember his life on earth. Indeed, he was a snake, nothing banaler until the day he was caught and then put in a reptile asylum. After a few months of waiting, a young man, appearing to be around 25 years old, bought him. That very moment changed his life. because he could see the lad's computer from his vivarium. One of the games that the young man played remained in Bagir's mind - There was a huge snake that easily reached several thousand kilometres in length or more.

When he saw, Bagir immediately wished to become identical to the snake, but he didn't know if it could still be called a snake at this level.

Time began to pass, it had been almost 3 years that he was together with the human, the snake turning 2 meters long. However, one day, the human did not return.

'This is strange. He should be back tomorrow morning.' Bagir optimistically thought, awaiting for the arrival of the young man.

But the next day, he wasn't there again. It was not normal anymore.

Finally, in the afternoon, the door of the house suddenly opened.

'It's about time he came back,'

As the lad entered the room, there was a woman that he brought with him.

"Nice place!" Once the gaze of the woman named Lou fell on Bagir, she shouted,

"Ahhh! A snake!!!!!"

"What's wrong?" Marcel said. "Don't worry. It's Bagir, my snake. He won't hurt a fly."

"I hope so, but I don't want him here."

When the woman uttered her desire to get rid of the snake, Marcel readily let go of his bond with Bagir.

"Sorry, my companion."

'Wait, what are you going to do?' Bagir frantically hollered in his head, fearful of what was about to happen to him.

Without any spare thoughts, the snake was placed in the attic. He was now alone in the narrow and darkroom. Fortunately, he was still in his vivarium with his little lamp.

'This is not the worst. It doesn't matter. It's not as if he abandoned me. He just put me here to please his girlfriend. Eventually, she'll accept me and I can live down there again."

But the snake was too naive. Indeed, the young man forgot about him, making Bagir spend his last days alone in Marcel's residence.

Several years later, Marcel and Lou got married. They were healthy, and everything was going well for them, except for Bagir. He felt that he was nearing the end, but it was not something to be serious about because he had lived his life well. He was still in the same vivarium, though he felt that he was becoming weaker and weaker. He knew that if he closed his eyes, it would be the last time he would see the light, falling asleep in eternity.

He simply compared himself to the enormous snake that had appeared in the game Marcel played several years ago. He would like to be as majestic as the giant reptile, but it was only the dream of the banalest snake. He closed his eyes to finally find himself in a peaceful place. Well, he just had to wait, since he had nothing else to do.

While Bagir was left alone in the white universe, Snar had gone hunting for his wife because she had been weakened by the parturition during her birth-giving.

While Snar was out, Pril was looking at her egg with a look of love. Finally, Snar had returned with several squirrels and rabbits, except that these creatures were the size of dogs.

"Looks like you had a good hunt." Pril said.

Then she grabbed a rabbit, eating it in one mouthful.

"Yes, but it's starting to get dangerous here. I've met all kinds of monsters that you would only meet in the forbidden zones or at the centre of the world." Snar replied, his tone was full of premonition.

"You think they came for us?"

"I hope not, but I think it's plausible."

"We're going to have to run away again. When are we going to find a place where we can live without fearing for our lives?" Pril stated her worries, utterly tired of their situation.

"I don't think there's such a place. We won't get hunted if we're stronger than our pursuers.

"Which is impossible."

Snar lowered his head because he did not argue against it. Indeed, he could only become stronger by absorbing the blood of other creatures, but since he only killed weaker monsters, he and his wife didn't become powerful fast enough.

"Don't worry, he'll defend us" He said, then pointed to the egg laying on the ground.

"You will rely on your child to defend you? Are you crazy? What kind of parents would want their child to risk their lives just to protect them? It's rather the opposite, it's up to us to protect our offspring."

"Which child wouldn't be proud to fight to protect his family."

Pril knew that she had lost her companion there, because, with the slightest word she would say, he would have something against it.

'How did it turn out like this? What did I do?' Pril thought.

"Okay, you're right."

She didn't want the conversation to last any longer.

"See, I'm right."

He then raised his head to show how happy he was to have won.

"You really are a child."

"Did you say something?"

"No, nothing. Come on, we have to sleep to be in shape for tomorrow.

"You're right"

Then they curled up together and went to sleep.
