1 Rebirth

——————————————————

A boy has died and most unexpectedly, no less.

To explain, his demise was in the dead of night as he walked back home from his job at D&N in Florida. Everything was quiet when he suddenly saw some small child walking alone in the suburbs.

'Why would a kid walk alone, especially at night?'

He was about to say something to catch their attention, but that was when he saw it; a 10-ton truck, and it was heading right towards that kid. He believed anyone would naturally avoid its direction. However, the boy immediately became perplexed when he saw the kid just standing there, waiting to get hit by that truck.

For some background, our protagonist is a typical, everyday delinquent. Frequently, he refused to pay for meals he didn't enjoy, threatened annoying or power-hungry teachers, and fought other kids who bothered him. Yet, despite that, he couldn't watch idly by as some random innocent kid gets killed when he could've done something to prevent it. Then, at the last moment, almost instinctively, the boy ran as quickly as possible and pushed the child out of the truck's path. Then, as the child turned, she looked right at her savior, causing him to see that she was actually a little girl who looked petrified. Then, from the little girl's perspective, she realized she was safe from the truck; she became wide-eyed and saw a fourteen-year-old boy in front of her with a stretched arm and open hand. Finally, the boy instinctively looked to his left and saw the truck coming right at him; He was going to die.

'I'm fine with this... Not like I have anything to live for up to this point: an abusive family, bullies, and an annoying sleeping disorder." The boy thought, reminiscing on his horrible life. "At least my grades were pretty good; hopefully, they put that on my gravestone, if I even get one...'

The impact was harrowing, a pain he had never felt before from his family or those kids who bullied him at school. It didn't matter; it'll all be over soon since he'll be sprawled on the ground in a pool of blood, probably a couple of feet behind the truck in pieces after it runs him over. Luckily, he remained intact and instead broke through the fence of a neighboring yard; The boy thinks he saw a family having a barbecue as he's flying through the air. Finally, the boy falls to the ground on his back, staring at the starry sky, unable to move any muscles in his legs or arms. It was also summer break when this occurred; how tragic the boy couldn't spend more time alone at the local marine aquarium. Apparently, he never could stand people; He even bet the marine life shared the same feelings.

He looked up at the sky and felt the cold air of the night wash over him. A faint ringing sound and muffled noises were all the boy could hear.

'I think the family is trying to call an ambulance; good luck to the paramedics, I guess...'

The boy then felt a soft hand cup his forehead - it was that little girl. She kneeled next to him and touched his head. From the boy's perspective, it looked like she was crying from experience.

'I wish I could say something like 'everything is peachy' to help with her mood, but I think my lungs collapsed the second I got hit by that damn truck...' The boy thought. 'Trying to comfort me before I die...? Heh, honestly, it's kind of adorable...'

"Good Grief..." He wheezed out.

Those were the words he managed to croak out, his last words before the boy died.

'Hopefully, that little girl thinks everything will be fine now...'

——————————————————

The boy was getting reincarnated. He can guess that much from the fact he is now standing beside a man in a beige robe. They appear to be in a garden with a single tree; it has red, green, and yellow apples all over it; they also glow similarly to a traffic light. The man in the robe stared at him before speaking.

"Nice job, kid." The old man said, smiling softly.

"... What... No, no, this all seems unreal," The boy said firmly. "This is the kind of stuff when you get reincarnated into an anime or tv show or something else; none of this should actually be how it works."

"On the contrary, my boy, you see - when people die, they come here and speak to my many brothers or me; I think I have over 8 billion as I last recall." The old man said matter-of-factly. "You then get to be born again in another world, though, for some reason, it's frequently those that seem fictional."

"Wait, what...?" The boy said with an eyebrow raised. "That's..."

"By the way, it's going to be random, and you'll get a one percent chance of getting an ability those 'anime protagonists' get or whatever," The old man added quickly. "Also, all your memories get wiped."

"EH?! WAIT, WHAT-"

"ANYWAYS!! HERE WE GO WITH 'THE WHEEL OF THE UNFORTUNATE'!!"

Instantly as the old man said it, a giant wheel (like those on the wheel of fortune) appeared with choices that could range from "Game of Thrones" to "Naruto," and the words seemed to be the language of the gods.

"Unfortunate...? Wait... Is being just some random guy in a fictional world going to be-"

"Hell? Yes, you're definitely going to be in some sort of world with either huge monsters, villains, or maybe both; good luck!" The old man said with a spin of the giant wheel; it would probably take some time before the wheel stopped. "Anyway, let us talk about your character!"

"My character?" The boy questioned.

"Yes, it will help pass the time as the 'Wheel of the Unfortunate' spins!" The old man exclaimed before summoning a small clipboard with the boy's face and a bunch of writing on it. "Let's see... Ah! It says you were fairly introverted all your life but spoke out against injustices..."

"I wouldn't say I was introverted... I just read manga all the time." The boy argued. "Besides that, most people I met were just plain evil; I just stated the obvious."

"Yes, the obvious being their wrongdoings!"

"... Whatever..."

"Next, you have anger issues, but it's caused by your lack of sleep and bad influences." The old man continued.

"Again, my parents were horrible people, and I got bullied a lot."

"Was it because of the manga?"

"No, it became evident to me around eleven that people don't like being told their misbehavior and getting their ass beat because of it."

"Oh! It seems you did other good things than only helping that little girl! At a young age, no less!"

"I doubt punching people is considered good behavior... But go on."

"All right," The old man said - the wheel was beginning to slow down. "And deep inside your soul, you had a strong will and wanted to change the world but couldn't because you didn't have enough time."

"I guess that checks out, but yeah, I didn't have any opportunities to do anything that could 'make my mark' because my life my life was garbage," The boy said with annoyance. "No time to do anything but work to make sure I could pay for my own meals instead of the scraps my stupid parents gave me every breakfast, lunch, and dinner to survive on as they ate like gluttons..."

"You had school lunches, right? Couldn't you have eaten those?"

"Old man, I had nothing to eat during school lunch because my parents didn't pay for it, but if they did give me money, it would've gotten robbed off me," The boy said, sighing loudly. "I would've tried to fight them off, but I knew that would only end up getting bruises and black eyes; that's why I had to work every day - to 'pay' for my survival."

The old man sensed the wheel had stopped and turned to see what it landed on.

"Ah! That world is gonna be a fun one!"

"What's it say?" The boy asked; he couldn't see the names since it was a language he couldn't understand. "Is it bad?"

"Worry not, my boy!" The old man exclaimed. "You have been selected a fairly tame-ish world to start your new life in!"

"Which is...?"

"You'll know when you get there!" The old man exclaimed.

"Wait, what about those powers you told me about? That one percent chance?"

"Ah! I almost forgot!" The old man said, slapping his forehead before going towards a very teeny tiny spot on the wheel that said if you got power or not (it was the size of a gravel speck). "Let's check- OH SHIT, IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!"

"HUH?! WHAT'S WRONG?!"

"YOU GOT THE ONE PERCENT CHANCE, KID, CONGRATULATIONS!!" The old man said jubilantly; it was the first time in years this event had ever happened (the only other time was with a guy called J).

"So... What's my power?" The boy asked cautiously; he decided that if he got some sort of "Sailor Moon" ability, it's straight to the noose for him.

"You will know when you get older; it will probably happen at age four in the world you will be reincarnated into," The old man responded.

"Wait, age four...?" The boy questioned. "Where have I heard that before..."

"Your personality will also have some slight changes, but nothing too major; When you wake up, you'll be in the arms of your mother," The old man said.

The boy thought about what he said a second earlier; Age four? Where has he heard that? It must be related to something he watched on Tv, probably an anime.

'Wait a minute... Age four... Power... It can't be...' The boy's eyes started to widen when he realized where he was going.

"See you later, kid; I'll be watching!" The old man finished before waving his hand in the kid's direction; the boy suddenly began to fade away.

"WAIT!! WHAT DID YOU MEAN BY FOUR?! THAT'S A JOJO REFERENCE!! AND THE AGE... DOES THAT MEAN-"

"YES, YOUNG MAN, YOU ARE BEING SENT TO YOUR HERO ACADEMIA!" The old man exclaimed with a trademark All Might smile.

The boy couldn't say another word as he faded away into nothingness...

-(Musutafu/Local Hospital)-

In a hospital, a baby boy suddenly feels like he can open his eyes; it takes him a minute, but he manages to see where he is. From what the boy could deduce, he was in his mother's arms. Looking up, he saw his mother and was a little stunned by her appearance; She was a beautiful woman with huge breasts (about D cups, it's for the plot). The boy also noted that she had soft hands. Then, as she touched his forehead and cradled him in her arms, he could see a faint yet visible purple star on her right shoulder; the boy saw that she had long black hair and green eyes. He skimmed around the room using his eyes because he couldn't move my head; it looked like a hospital room.

"Look at you, my little Jojo..." she says softly.
