24 Constant Vigilance

For the record, this is just filler and romance, which I'm not the best at so don't expect much.

Raijin stood on top of his log cabin house looking around with a slightly crazy and very paranoid expression. Ever since what happened the other day with the women's statue, he has been extremely paranoid. He believed that Liam was just waiting for him to let his guard down before he attacked. So Raijin has been sitting in top of his house for three days now without sleep while staying on watch to make sure Liam didn't try to sneak up on him.

At first it wasn't this serious and he wasn't that concerned with Liam finding them. However over time he found that he couldn't stop thinking about it for some reason and eventually became so paranoid that he started keeping constant watch. Unbeknownst to him, this was a side effect of his evolution. When a living thing evolves to a certain situation, their mind will evolve as well.

His body had evolved specifically because of his fight with Liam and it decided that Liam was a threat, and making him subconsciously paranoid about it. Like how a bunny will run away from a fox, which is a predator that it had evolved to recognize and fear. Raijin's pride wouldn't allow him to run away and abandon Asami, so his body had to take a different approach in the form of extreme paranoia.

There are always good and bad sides to everything. In this case, he gained a lot of power and became inhuman, however he also lost control of his own instincts in the process.

Asami had tried to break him out of this state, however failed multiple times. She started feeling guilty and even went as far as bashing her head against the wall like dobby to punish herself. However, no matter how many times she tried to convince herself, she just couldn't tell him what really happened. She was scared that he would hate her for what she had done.

He hadn't even played any music for a few days, and when she asked him to play her a song on his violin, he said no and just went back to stalking the landscape and flinching whenever a rabbit ran by.

He has a very fragile mind after being frozen in a black abyss for thousands of years, watching his grandfather die and even failing to avenge him. At this point, its amazing he hasn't completely lost it again.

On the other hand, Asami had been up to a few things as well. Unlike Raijin who loved anime and music, Asami loved fighting and video games. Although Raijin likes video games as well like the elder scrolls, he is not nearly as big a fan of them as Asami. She was so obsessed with it that she had multiple replica swords and armor from Skyrim. However, a few months before the petrification, she had learned of Assassins creed, which had some how evaded her knowledge until then.

She came to love the series with her favorite character being Ezio. She had even learned how to make clothes and studied engineering for a while until she eventually learned how to make a hidden blade and assassin robe. Although she didn't have the tools needed to replicate her previous results, she was still able to make a set very close to the pilgrimage set Ezio wore and a fully functioning hidden blade.

She had spent three days working on robes like Altair's for Raijin to make him feel better.

"Raijin! Come here and look! I made you some new clothes!" She yelled as she held the robes and looked at him.

"I cant, changing takes to long he might attack." Raijin replied unreasonably. He was no longer really Raijin, but more his instincts.

"Awww, come on. I spent so long on these, at least try them on."

"No! Ill try them on when I know he isn't here. Now go away, you're to loud." He then proceeded to ignore her again.

"Come here and try them on! Liam obviously isn't here so stop acting like this and get off the house!"

He looked back at her angrily and growled back, "You think this is a joke? After what he did to grandpa, you think we will be fine if we just let him run around free? He wants revenge, and now he is going to try and get it! Now go inside and stop bothering me, I need to focus."

"Fine, I hope you die up there!" Asami started crying and ran inside.

When she reached her bed, she started crying into her pillow and punching the wall. The pillow was fine but the wall died. 'This is my fault. Why did I have to kill that girl? All he did was look at her for a little while, he didn't try anything though, so why did I do that? I could have just told him to stop and he would have. Why do I keep ruining everything?' By the end she was sobbing and the wall was covered in fist prints.

'And why did I tell him that? I don't want him to die. Damnit!" She then created a hole in the wall.

Deep in her mind however, were different thoughts. 'Of course I needed to kill that girl, she was trying to take my Raijin. She had to die, there was no other way. And now he wont even acknowledge me anymore, it must be because of her. Maybe I just need to make him forget. Yeah that's it, if I make him forget about her and that asshole Liam, then he will be all mine again.'

Those thoughts started to reach her conscious and her expression turned into and a dark and creepy smile. "I can fix this, I just need to make him forget." She then reached under her bed and pulled out a box. Inside of which were various yandere things, like a knife, some old bandages from when Raijin was recovering, and a painting she made herself, along side a few other things. You know, the normal creepy yandere things. She once had a body pillow with him on it, like that scene with Albedo in Overlord.

(To be cleared, she doesn't have a split personality, its more like the yandere parts are her true feelings, but she was scared that Raijin wouldn't like her if he knew about that, so she made a character to play as. Like how an actor has there own personality but uses a different one on the surface in order to fulfill their role. However she had been playing the role so long that she normally forgot to switch out of it and instead had logical non-yandere thoughts, so boring ones. I don't think I explained that properly, so if anyone has a better way, please do comment it.)

"I know how to make him forget! All I have to do is be a little more thoughtful." She then smiled sweetly at the half finished piano on Raijin's bed. Although yes she is yandere, that doesn't mean she cant give actually good gifts to people.

She spent the entirety of the next few days preparing. She would go out and find materials, like in Minecraft. Then she would put things together, like in Minecraft. She would then use them, Like in Minecraft. In her free time she also experimented on various things that were capable of screaming but lost the ability to do so after encountering her, just like in Minecr- well maybe not that last one.

After finishing her goal and letting off some steam on some animals, she was ready to make Raijin forget. She went to the front of the house, looked at the sleepy Raijin perched on the house, and brought out her project.

"Raijin! Get down here now! Otherwise I will destroy it!" She then held up her fist.

"What are you bothering me again for? And what are you trying to destroy?" He then looked at her and realized what she was talking about. The piano he had been working on for a while was finished, she had finished it.

"Did you finish this? How did you do that?" He asks as he is finally tempted. Although he does fear Liam, he values music more and it is more deeply ingrained in his head. It is so much of a part of him that his body instinctively played Giornos theme during battle.

"Do you think you are the only one with plot armor? Also, it doesn't matter since you cant play it when you're all the way up there." She then raised her fist higher, as if getting ready to slam it down.

"WAIT! Hold on, I'm coming down, just calm down and stop acting crazy!" He said as climbed off the house, completely forgetting about Liam.

She stopped and looked at him with a smile. "Looks like it worked after all. Can you try it now, I'm not to sure if I made it correctly?" She asked him, using any excuse she could think of to keep him from going back onto the house.

He nodded and happily started playing and singing.

(You know, every time I do a Japanese song I have to add all the words to my dictionary so that inkstone doesn't recognize it as being an error. Not really helpful or relevant information, just felt like sharing.)

Asami listened happily as she sat next to him. He started to get anxious again though, however she was ready to distract him.

Also, you didn't think that a yanderes only plan to distract Raijin would be giving him a piano did you?

"Why do I smell smoke?" Raijin said as he turned around.

The log cabin was burning down, fire was every where. Yeah, Asami lit a house on fire in the middle of a forest, risking a wild fire and the possibility of killing hundreds of thousands of animals, just to keep his mind off of Liam. 'Ha, now he will stop talking about Liam and think more about me.' Is what she thought however,

"It must have been Liam! He has been waiting for me to leave." Raijin said angrily.

Asami was speechless for a second before saying, "No, it was me, sorry. I forgot that I left the fire burning in there, my bad." She said with a Teehee expression that Raijin was not amused by.

"Oh yeah, also, I killed that girl, not Liam." She said casually and walked away, leaving Raijin there with the inability to understand what was happening.

Although she was scared of telling him, she knew that it was her fault he ended up like this and decided to bite the bullet and tell him. Worst case scenario, he would fear her and she would have to kill him. Not that big a deal now that she thinks about it.

As you probably guessed, this is meant to be romance. I am terrible at it however so this is what it ended up being. Sorry. I also happen to be pretty bad at filler chapters so you're stuck with this. But worry not, because I have planned out only a few more chapters like this before the story starts up again, so just be patient.

Also, I am pretty tired right now so there will probably be a lot of mistakes I missed when editing, so just attribute those to this chapter and not the following ones.
