A Month of Sloth and Research

I am going to attempt to explain hamon through science in this chapter, and I guarantee that I will butcher it. I know about biology and physics, but only to a certain degree. So this is going to be an explanation based off of my armature skills in the two fields. If any of you have any better explanations, please do tell and I will include them in a later report from Xeno.

-----------------------

We will now return to the protagonist, Raijin Fuyuto. If you recall, he had recently joined Xeno's kingdom in order for Xeno to study hamon, which he had been doing. Xeno spent as much time as he could get from Raijin studying the energy, and he had discovered a lot. Raijin on the other hand had done absolutely nothing.

Before he had trained even when he didnt want to because his body made him do so, however during the last month, he had done nothing at all. The only thing he had done that could be considered semi-productive is his experimentation with his hamon arm and music. You may be wondering how he had been able to be this lazy with his body constantly nagging him to train, and the answer to that is simple.

He just fatally wounded himself to the point where he couldn't get up for a while, but he could still be conscious. With this he was able to make his body not want to train for an entire month so that he had to sit in bed healing instead of training. This may seem like a dumb idea because of the possibility of Xeno attacking him while he is weak, but he handled that by showing to Xeno that his hamon arm could catch bullets as well, and throw them back at him almost as hard.

So Xeno wouldn't take any chances for now, however Raijin didnt count on that being the case forever, so he was careful to make sure that the wound he inflicted upon himself was one that was near his heart again. This way, when his evolutionary zenkai kicks in, his heart, blood, lungs and the rest of his circulatory system should receive boosts after healing. With that, he wouldn't have to worry about his body taking so long to heal from bullets anymore.

Also, don't forget that he enjoys pain and receives pleasure from it, so he liked hurting himself. It was a weird kink to say the least, but in this type of situation where he needed to be stronger, it was very useful and very helpful. Unfortunately for him, his body had finished healing today and it was already screaming at him to begin training.

As for Xeno, he had done a lot of research on hamon. He had so far come up with a lot more results on the subject then Raijin had in his months of research. He had come across three things in his research.

Number One: He had created a more detailed explanation on how hamon effects the body and how its summoned.

He theorized that hamon has such a significant effect on DNA because of its influence on the mitochondria. He had looked at Raijin's cells closely through a microscope and found that the mitochondria was especially active and abnormally powerful. He found that it produced a lot more energy at a time and a lot faster then normal, and that all of that was stored in the abnormally large vacuoles.

A vacuole is where the cell stores energy. This organelle is much more rare in animal cells and more common in plant cells, and while it is still in animal cells, they are normally much smaller then the ones in plants. However the ones in Raijin's cells seemed much larger and tougher then normal animal cells, even for plant cells it was strange.

On top of this, Raijin's DNA seemed to have been effected as well as it now produces proteins that help it in guarding from light wavelengths. This meant that the cells now had a natural resistance to hamon and the UV rays produced by it, and any offspring of the cell would have the same resistance.

With all of these changes, Xeno came to theorize that whatever it was that allowed Raijin to heal with hamon, it also made it exceptionally easy for the cell to adapt to the wavelengths produced by it.

As for how it was created and used, that was a little more complicated. Xeno found that Raijin's circulatory system was vastly different from a normal humans, so his tests didnt show the best results. What he did manage to come up with are two theories.

The first is that hamon is created by cells and that it was a previously undetected energy that could potentially only be made by living organisms. This would mean that as a creature gets older, their hamon will get stronger or at least more potent. This is because of the build up in the cell of it continuously producing hamon.

The second was the more likely one. This was that the energy already existed and that something in living cells allowed organisms to harness the energy. Xeno believed this was the case because although it had only been a month, he had seen absolutely no increase in Raijin's hamon potency. This is however very inconclusive as Xeno has only had a single test subject for only a month, so the results aren't very reliable yet.

Number Two: The way in which wavelengths are produced.

Xeno had started studying the different hamon wavelengths that Raijin had discovered and had come to a very different conclusion then Raijin. Light isn't only a wave and it isn't only a particle, it is both at once. Xeno found that the hamon wasn't creating particles through a test that the author had seen once, but has forgotten the name of so it will not be named.

Anyway, the hamon wasn't producing particles, so Xeno had to figure out how it made light wavelengths. He found that it was actually making the wave aspect of it, and somehow the particle aspect was also created, but Xeno knew for certain that it wasn't made by the hamon. Think of light as a car, the car and the tires are made in different factories. Raijin makes the car, and something else makes the tires, but Xeno couldn't figure out what that factory was.

This resulted in him testing how hamon actually effected things, and he found that it was a force that was heavily focused on creating waves. Hamon seemed to be extremely efficient when the user focused on making waves, or ripple. For example, when Raijin tried to walk on water, it created those tiny ripples that everyone knows about, however when Raijin focused solely on creating a wave, he created a wave that was huge and fast.

When he made that wave, it was almost immediately strong enough to tear through normal oceans waves. If he tried harder, Raijin thought that he could probably make a tsunami.

This was also further proved when he tried using the Sendo Ripple Overdrive through the ground, but instead of trying to attack something, he focused on making a wave. This resulted in a small earthquake moving through Xeno's castle.

He also found the same effect on other things like fire, and even air when Raijin focused. After noticing a pattern, Raijin lost his shit and ran to the beach. There he set a small tree next to the water on fire and then stood next to it. He then started making weird movements and everything started to create waves.

He then started screaming about being the avatar as he watched a huge wave leave the shore, massive winds rage away from him, the earth shake and destroy everything next to him, and the fire burn down everything in front of him. He did this by creating one huge ripple that went through everything around him, causing all of the elements to rush away from him and make those environmental effects. However he fell asleep immediately afterword as he supposed to make ripples that big.

After those experiments, Xeno theorized that waves and ripples were the main effect of hamon. He even started wondering if something powerful enough could create a gravitational wave, or a ripple in space-time.

The third and final thing he had theorized about was: Magnetism.

This was the one that fascinated Xeno the most. It seemed that hamon was a type of magnet like force as it created both an attractive and repulsive effect. It could pull things to it, and push them back, however they had to be in contact for this to work. Raijin found a way around this with his hamon arm as he enhanced the air to make it hard, then sent extra hamon through it to effect thing thee arm was touching.

The issue with this was that it took far to much hamon to be useable. Xeno thought that is he can figure out how to move hamon through the air without needing to create a vasal for it, then they would be able to create a telekinesis of sorts. Of coarse, the hamon still needs to be attacked to its original source for this to work. It wasn't like Ki, so it couldn't exist without being in contact with its source.

The other things Xeno thought this magnetism could be is that hamon was more of a field then a force, like it was more like the fabric of space time then kinetic force. This meant that the waves and ripples made by it could be a result of hamon fields interacting with magnetic fields and gravitational curvature.

He theorized that when a hamon user uses their hamon, that it creates a sort of field around the user. This field then rubs against or clashes with the fabric of space and creates minuscule waves, which only end up as those ripples in the water. This would also explain the sparks that appear, they are simply energy released by the clash between the fields, like those shock waves made whenever dragon ball characters punch each other.

So what Xeno had concluded from his first month of research, was that hamon was some strange energy that existed in the universe, and when a living thing starts to utilize it past the unnatural boundaries, it manifests as a field. This field creates waves and energy when it clashes with space and changes the users body in significant ways. The hamon field then forcefully evolves the body at high speeds to adapt to it.

What Xeno still didnt have a theory on is the healing aspect of the hamon. Raijin keeps saying that this is the soul, or what he calls, a 'stand' however Xeno wasn't ready to start believing in souls and ghosts. All Xeno could find on this aspect of hamon it that it had a significant influence on the mind and that it was able to heal living creatures. He didnt know if there were other effects, however for now he wanted to investigate these ones.

However, before he had a chance to continue his investigation, it became time to start the story up again, so he was stuck with the menial task of finding and talking to Stanley about a strange mask that he had found on a statue.

Again, I am sorry for butchering that, however this is a Dr. Stone fanfic, so I have to include the science in it. I hope that I didnt do to badly, but if I did, please let me know. In future chapters with Xeno or Senku analyzing hamon, I will include any theories you readers have that I find logical. Thanks for reading.
