9 Irony of the Fate

Only the proud thoughts filled Gojo's mind. He watched his student display great tactical mind when dealing with the curse, he wasn't too hasty and didn't exhaust himself with too much evasions. Jin-woo maintained a balanced distance between the curse, to be able to avoid melee attacks as well as ranged.

*Fwoosh* The cursed spirit's extended hand went over Jin-woo's head, almost caressing his hair. He saw an opportunity for a good attack, with the maximum amount of the extended hands the curse could control, Jin-woo couldn't be attacked by the curse if he went in for the melee.

From what he observed, the curse was only able to create eight extensions of its hands and that was it. Beyond that point it couldn't control the rest. So, Jin-woo began his approach to the curse with a burst. The ground underneath his feet cracked, and a bit of dust was put up. Curse's eyes widened.

They saw how a sorcerer approached itself with a prepared attack, obviously sensing danger, but being unable to comprehend what was about to happen. 'Of course, they are not that intelligent.' It was afraid, but still clueless. It tried to bring back its hands. This process was slower than Jin-woo thought it would be.

He ducked underneath to avoid the blow once again. With the curse being unable to utilize its ability for a moment, Jin-woo put his left foot forward and unleashed a powerful punch on the cursed spirit's vulnerable head. Almost sending the cursed spirit flying, dealing quite a lot of damage to the curse.

From the sidelines, Gojo was surprised. This amount of strength with minimal use of cursed energy was something else for a teenager that is only in a first grade. His eyes gleamed with pride, the amount of potential that Jin-woo unleashed in a singular month was outstanding. 'And it doesn't look like he is stopping either, haha.' He chuckled for himself.

The flow of the fight was in Jin-woo's hand as he controlled this battle. There was no doubt that eventually, the young teenager would exorcize the curse. There was no struggle for supremacy, the winner was decided.

Despite the curse's tenacity, Jin-woo had only pressed further and did not maintain the prior balance. He fought much closer now, as he had a lot of stamina as backup. The singular punch connected with his hands, but the block was successful and he responded with multiple strikes on the spirit's body.

*Punch* *Punch* The punches that connected with the cursed spirit sounded like iron fists were connecting to the concrete. Jin-woo unleashed a fury of multiple punches on the spirit once again, and decided to end the curse's suffering once and for all. The ugly face of the curse was filled with desperation, and the sorcerer could actually feel all the negative thoughts of the spirit. They were a reflection of people's thoughts.

With one final, decisive strike, Jin-woo delivered a finishing blow that connected with the cursed spirit's head, bashing inside easily and banishing the spirit from the world of living. The noises of the cursed spirit instantly went away and quietness returned. Jin-woo wasn't even exhausted.

"Gojo-sensei, I'm done." Jin-woo dusted away accumulated dirtiness on his clothes and showed that he was not even scratched.

"Good, good! This was really good. Now~, let's go and celebrate!"

…

*Ring* "Jin-ah, open the door, it's me, your brother." Jin-woo called out for his sister in the newly purchased apartment that Gojo got for them. The door was opened in an instant as the sister hugged his brother tightly.

"Where were you for so long?" She tightened her grip when asking this, trying to hurt her brother.

Jin-woo didn't feel a thing, as his sister's futile attempt to strangle him failed before it even started. "You know how it is in Jujutsu High, can't always be there for you. But either way, I'm trying to come here almost everyday. So, how was your day at school?"

"It was nice, I actually made a few friends. But it's so boring at home, always alone, the only thing I can do is watch the television. But I don't understand a thing." She was only starting to learn Japanese, but as they say, the younger ones grasp new things quickly. She was only ten, and being alone at home almost all day and being bored, she was starting to get hold of things rather quickly.

It was cruel indeed, a ten year old alone at home, it was also dangerous, but their situation was such that Jin-woo could only visit after his training with Gojo.

"Okay, let's arrange the table. We will have guests, Gojo-seisei will bring some people."

Jinah's eyes sparkled, "Really, Gojo-sensei?!" It was quite easy to notice how Jinah adored Gojo Satoru… he spoiled her quite a lot, making even the calm calculative older brother feel jealous.

"But who will he bring?"

"Someone who he is also taking care of." This piqued Jinah's interest, so there were other people that Gojo took care of. But why would they be visiting them? Also celebrations? She wasn't really good with doing chores and making meals, but… wasn't it bad to greet the visitors this way? They had literally nothing at home.

"Don't worry, we made an order. Let's just arrange the plates and we can wait for them." Jinah shrugged and proceeded to help her brother with setting up the table. It was supposed to be a modest celebration of sorts, but in reality, it was just a way to relax.

The entourage of Gojo arrived a few minutes after the order was received. "Hello, Jinah!" He enthusiastically greeted the little sister of Jin-woo as he barged into the house without even knowing on the door. The tall white haired sorcerer towered over everyone on sight, so when Jinah got picked up by the man, she almost bumped her head into the ceiling.

'How does this man act so casually with people he knows only for a month…' Jin-woo couldn't put a finger on it, but Gojo had different types of social abilities.

"Oh, you guys haven't met yet have you?" Gojo moved out of the doorframe and created a space for a dark haired boy and brown haired girl to enter the apartment. "The little one over here is Megumi, and this is his sister Tsumiki, hope you get along well quickly!"

The vein popped on the dark haired boy. Obviously got annoyed at Gojo for calling him 'little one'. The sister laughed at their interaction. Megumi was probably just two years older than Jinah, while Tsumiki was a year younger than himself.

"It's nice to meet you, Jinah and Jin-woo. My name is Tsumiki." The older Fushiguro then introduced herself properly in English and bowed. Gojo probably told them of their inability to hold proper conversation in Japanese yet.

"It's nice to meet you too, please come in and take a seat. We've already prepared a table."

"Nice! Let's go and have some fun guys." Gojo cheered as they went into the dining room where the aroma of hot and tasty food filled the air.

.

"Woah, Jinwoo-san really defeated a grade three cursed spirit alone?" The table was surprised to hear the real reason as to why Gojo suddenly decided to throw a celebration. The curses were now not a secret to anybody in the room. Fushiguros have known it for long, while Jinah simply thinks of them as some villains.

"Well, after all he is my first actual student. Megumin is next in line after Jin-woo haha~"

In just a few minutes the conversation had already turned casual with Gojo driving topics. With his charisma kids were able to quickly open up to new people. Jin-woo really liked this about his teacher, he was very casual and socializing. It is quite a good thing, he felt relieved that Jinah got new people to talk to. The boy named Megumi also appeared to be grumpy, the polar opposite of Gojo.

'He is a bit cold isn't he…' Jinwoo noted the way Megumi acted around his sister. A typical little brother, he wasn't very different from Jinah. They should get along at some point.

"Gojo-san, so Megumi will also become sorcerer in the future?" Tsumiki's concern on the matter was visible on her face, but she didn't directly say that. Matter of fact, she would also prefer for Megumi to be taught sorcery for self defense…

The white haired nodded, "Yes, but before that there's three years! Until then he'll be going to middle school just like you."

"Oh," Tsumiki then turned towards Jin-woo, "So, which school will Jinah be attending if it's not secret? Is it possible that she will also enter our school in the future? So maybe I can take care of her, considering your situation…"

Jin-woo didn't have words, he would've been grateful, but accepting that offer was… let's say, his brotherly senses also wanted only for him to take care of his sister. "No, that shouldn't be necessary. We can't bother you with this… I'll manage, somehow."

Tsumiki titled her head a little in question, "No, it won't be a bother. Gojo-san already takes care of our expenses, so, aside from house matters I don't have much to worry about."

Gojo nodded, "Yes, it'll be good for Jinah, as well as for you. So what do you say?" A realization downed upon Jin-woo, this was arranged by his teacher as well, wasn't it? What a thoughtful person…

"But it's still a few years before she can enter middle school. I could've said yes if she was there, but that's just an additional workload."

The girl only waved it off, "It's alright, we can all use a bit of exercise." Tsumiki smiled as she reassured Jin-woo.

"I mean… if it's like this…Jinah, what do you think? Will you be okay, if I'm not the one picking you up from school?"

"It's alright, brother. If it helps you, I'm okay with everything." Her words got her a pat from the older brother. Jin-woo felt very proud at that moment.

Gojo clapped his hands, "Then this settles it! Megumi will have a companion in the future." When he smiled, the light reflected by his white teeth hit Megumi's eyes, irritating him further.

"Right, hopefully Megumi will try to socialize more from this." All of their eyes were now on the poor boy who just wanted a quiet and calm life. He now had an eccentric little girl to worry about as well.

.

"So, Jinwoo-san, how was life in Korea?" The Korean boy was washing the dishes along with Tsumiki who decided to help him out. "I heard you arrived here only a month ago."

He nodded in response, "That's right. Before that I worked for the Jujutsu association in Seoul, where I had an incident and… well, Gojo-sensei decided to help me out." His explanation was short which Tsumiki wasn't particularly liking, she wanted some more, she was a curious girl after all.

"Well, Jinah and I lived alone for a long time now, since my mother was hospitalized…she was cursed."

"That's terrible. I'm sorry, I remind-"

Jin-woo shook his head, "It's alright. We were promised that there would eventually be a way to get rid of that curse. So far she is doing well, her state is stable."

"Jinwoo-san, if there's anything else I can help with you can always contact me. Can we exchange numbers?"

"Sure."

…

Jujutsu Headquarters

The place was lit daily with multiple japanese styled doors hiding the faces, while in the center of the light stood a man of tall stature with long hair and a beard.

"Grade 1 Sorcerer, Goto Ryuuji, you are tasked with observing the student of Gojo Satoru, previously our Korean Associate and determine whether he poses a threat to Jujutsu Society… if so, you are to inform us first, and then execute him."
