8 Jinx Academy

Ok, so, I had no idea what the hell was going on but, apparently, there was a mythical creature like from out of the books I read, and it was here to bring me and my friends to an academy?

"Ok, so, can you make yourself visible to my friends?" I asked, "I think they need to see you."

"Yes, I can, but they will get very cold." He said,

"Make yourself viable to them," I said it more like a command. If this was the same creature as the one in the books, then I needed to make sure it didn't know how scared I was.

"As you wish." And at that moment, Maple held her arms as if she was freezing, and Will was staring in disbelief at the wraith while his lips were quivering from the cold.

"I told you they would be cold." Whispered the wraith. I noticed it too. I was kinda chilly, but not cold.

"W-what is that th-thing?" asked Maple, pointing at the wraith, her teeth chattering.

"It calls itself a wraith," I told her, halfway surprised that she couldn't understand him, "can she understand you?" I asked, turning towards the wraith.

"No, only you can hear my words. Well, only you in this group." He said,

"Well, that's halfway helpful," I said. Then I noticed that Will and Maple were looking at me quizitently. "Oh, he said that you guys can't understand him." I clarified.

"Should we go find Dykota and Brianan?" asked Maple.

"Yeah." agreed Will.

"I'll go find them," I offered, "But you are staying here, and keep them safe," I said, pointing at the wraith.

"Of course." Said the wraith. Maple and Will looked like they were warming up so I assumed that he had made himself invisible again. Before I left, I looked at Josh one last time. He still looked like a sleeping fawn, well, sorta. He was kinda pale, and even though he was sleeping, he still looked exhausted. I then walked off in the direction that Dykota and Brianan had gone. It didn't take me long to find them. They were standing there, looking super confused.

"Are you guys good?" I asked

"Well, sorta," said Dykota. He was looking at Brianan who had her head turned towards the clouds with a worried expression on her face...

"What is it?" I asked, taking a step towards her. She turned her head towards me, saying, "It's just, everything that's been happening. I mean…" She paused, then inhaled. "What will happen now? What about everyone else?" I noticed Dykota now had a similar expression to Brianan. "They were still people. The last day of their lives, all wasted. They had families, friends, waiting to see them back at home or some other place. It's just all of those people, dead. Dead, Jessie, dead." She sniffed, rubbing his eyes.

"Let's get back to the others," Dykota said. As we were walking, he continued. "I know… it is a lot to take in right now. All of those innocent people. We all miss them, Brianan. We all do. We miss everyone we love. But now, we have to watch each other's backs. We have to survive and stick together."

"He has a pretty good point." I agreed. Let's hope we can hold off with this chaos.
