Troubles in the path

Soo my party and I were in our way to a cave to retrieve the items requested when we see a two story house in fire and a woman screaming from the first floor to save her daughter, but the problem was that we could only save one of them! so being quick in my thinking i throw myself inside the house with Rin a Grim Knight (and how cool is that! I know a Grim knight) securing the child in my arms we see that we could try to rescue the mother but with a high probability of fail, so I look at Rin and tell her with my eyes that there not way in hell that I gonna take that chance, after all I'm a adventurer not a hero, and nobody is gonna pay me for this good action, being totally truthful I wanted to be a mercenary but my mother disapprove it, so rescuing the child was pushing the extent of my good will, going back to the rescuing, we jump from the first floor through the window, I feel my legs complain but don't paid attention. Nov we have a child in our mist, but before we can think our next course of action Harry, the ranger in our party and a half elf, saw a young man leaving the scene pretty quickly, that made us be suspicious, so we followed after him, that lead as to a town and from there to a farm where a family of 5 lived, we knock the door and a grouchy middle age man answer, in that moment we realize we don't have any idea of what to do, we didn't think of a plan of action!!, something that I would realize was gonna be quite common in ours adventure, but that something for much later in our tale. So there we where with an unconscious little girls and no idea what to say, so our mage Nyx took the mantle and step out to talk with the man, she told him we rescued a child from a fire in our way and saw the a young man close to the burning house coming this way and we decided to follow him with the hope of getting information of the child, obviously she wasn't gonna plain said we suspected the young man of being the perpetrator, she wasn't an idiot, when the middle aged land and his wife saw the child they recognized her as their niece, so they let her and Kelly who is our priest in so she can be healed, while this happen the young man that we followed come out and we he see us , told his father that we burned her aunt house, the little shit try to put the blame in us, when we denied the accusations and say we could always go to the authorities so they can investigate he tries to run, but is stopped by his younger brother who has an insane strength!! , so he start wailing that he was doing only what he father asked, we all look at the middle aged man who slap his son and start yelling that he was talking figuratively and it wasn't something he was gonna see through, I don't particularly believe him, but didn't care to much I was more worried about our safety, we where stranger in a town if the farm family decided to blame us for the fire we could be linched, so much for our good action of the day, but I didn't even end that train of thought when the little girl wake up and look at the young man terrified and say he was the one that started the fire, I see the young man panic and fight his brother getting free to look at his father with rage taking a knife from his pocket and after cutting his throat, start to scape, I look stunned for a moment before getting into action trying to catch him up, Nyx trow an ice spell that froze his legs in the same moment that I tackle him, broking them to pieces making me cringe, his little brother look at the situation and can only sigh, the mother look as Kelly fail to save his husband, to pass and try to heal what is left of his oldest, and with a pleading faces ask us to not tell the guards what have happened there, we discuss it as a party and decided that is contraproducent to us so we denied her request and we hurry out of there in our way out of town we tell the guard what happened with that family and that we have left the child with them after that we left that cursed town in our way to the cave, where later I would wish that we didn't hurry to reach.
