Chapter 18

Jungkook started at Jimin in pure shock.

"Are... are you sure!? Maybe it's just the same cap-"

"No." Jimin interrupted. "It has the exact same writing and look, it has hand sown initials on it." Jimin remembered that sixteen years ago, the mans cap had hand sown initials on it. "The initials are... DHS."

"DHS...?" Jungkook said. Then he yelped excitedly.

"Wait, if this is the same man who... you know... did that to your mother then wouldn't we be able to get his name from social media or the police?"

Jimin shook his head and frowned. "No. It was a closed investigation, so the media was never told about it. And even if we asked the police, they wouldn't tell us even if we told them what we're doing. And if we did tell them, they would make us stop because it would have to be investigated by the police. But we both know the police are unreliable and we don't want this to get out. This means that we have to do this ourselves."

Jungkook sighed, disappointed. He had come to a sudden realisation that this would be way harder then he thought. With no help and hardly any leads... how the hell would they catch the guy who tried to kill Jimin?

"I think we should go." Jimin said, he used gloves to pick up the cap and he put it in an air tight bag.

"We've done enough for today and we should try thinking about what we should do next."

"I agree." Jungkook answered and nodded. "You also need to rest, you're exhausted."

They left the forest and Jungkook dropped Jimin off at his house and walked off. Jimin sat down in his living room, distraught with the memories of what happened sixteen years ago.
