3 Chapter 3

I woke up to the vibrations of my phone, Zanku was playing loudly at the same time and as tempted as I was to dance it at 4am in the morning I wasn't sure my body would agree.

"Zanku, legwork" I sat up and hummed the same words over and over again.

"Gbe body e" I whispered and walked to the bathroom as everything hat happens yesterday flashed right I'm front of me. I glared at myself in he mirror.

"Time to live, Jade!" I grabbed a red toothbrush and pressed a line of toothpaste unto it, brushing my teeth furiously.

I quickly took a bath and dressed in a red skirt that reached below my knees but the zip beside it opened up to my thigh, I paired it with a grey top and did my make up quickly before walking to the closet where I hung all of my wigs.

"Short or long" I whispered, looking at the six wigs.

"Medium it is" I picked out a short collarbone length wig and put it on.

I shoved my phone into a large handbag along with my purse and my laptop, I picked out a grey heeled sandal smiled at myself in the mirror.

I walked down the stairs and thankfully, Micheal was just leaving.

"Wait for me" he stopped in his tracks for a few seconds and continued to walk, not sparing me a glance. I shrugged and got into the car, making a mental note to get a dog.

As soon as the car started to move, his gaze burned me and somehow, I liked it. I pulled my phone out and opner the Snapchat app. I couldn't even remember the last time I used it.

I took a few pictures and changed my phone wallpaper to one of the pictures I took before sliding my phone back into the bag.

An hour passed and the car hadn't moved an inch, I roles the windows down and my jaw dropped.

"Oh God!" I groaned at the sight of the traffic. Several cars trying to move into new lanes while some driveres just kept screaming profanities at the top of their voices.

"I had a feeling this was going to happen" Michael muttered and took of his dark grey suit jacket. I rolled m eyes and looked away quickly, my stomach rumbled and I sighed, chastising myself mentally.

I noticed a woman hawking bread and bean cakes, I whistled and she looked around before running towards the car.

"Aunty how much?"

"Bread and hundred naira akara" I told her and she handed me a large loaf of bread before counting eleven pieces of akara into a polythene bag.

"Na three fifty ma" I dug into my bag and brought a five hundred naira note out.

"Bring change" I showed her the money and she gave me my change, I handed her the money and she continued with her day job.

I started eating, ignoring the way his eyes burned my soul. Halfway through the 30 cm length bread, I felt full so I just tied the nylon and placed of beside me.

"Your coworker, how is he?" Michael asked and I shrugged, rubbing my stomach a little as I stared out of the window, trying my best not to call out to the people hawking soft drinks.

"I'm talking to you, Jade" he said tiredly and I turned to him with a frown.

"Will you ever stop treating me like a child?"

"Stop making a fuss and answer my question" I rolled my eyes and leaned back, I noticed the car had started moving.

"Iife is inviting us to dinner" he informed me and I pursed my lips.

Aunty Ifeoluwa, his elder sister, more evil than him and the rudest one in their family. She has a seven year old son who is the cutest thing ever, nothing like her.

She has no husband, no morals, no house, no filter and apparently, no respect. Only a foul mouth and plenty of money to waste.

"I'm not going" He had never asked me to go with him, most times, it was Esther who went with him.

Yes, all my in-laws knew that my husband had a concubine.

He didn't reply so I looked away, satisfied.

In an hour we got to the office, I decided to take the regular elevator for employees so that i didn't have to stand with him in his elevator.

I gasped as I stepped into the office.

"What the hell did you do?" I asked, smiling at Jide who's eyes were wide open as he took in my appearance.

"You like?" I spun around and he chuckled.

"No, I love. You look gorgeous" he sat on the edge of the table, staring at me while I just smiled shyly.

"Stop looking at me" I giggled, walking towards the chair. The whole office was decorated with flowers and confetti.

"Wow, if I were your husband I would never ever... ever...let my eyes stray from you. Not my eyes, not my hands and nor my legs" he chuckled and I smiled, feeling a lot better. He was a lot better than Michael.

"You might have to tell that to Mr. Olumide" I wiggled my finger with the ring on it at him and he chuckled.

"Stylishly curving me. I respect you" I wove him off and dropped my bag on the floor.

"Stop kissing my ass, Jide. I'm married" I pulled my phone out and placed it on the table.

"To a cheater" he muttered and I acted like I didn't hear him.

"What's today’s task?" I asked, opening my laptop on the table.

"Esther gave me some files to sort, I already did that and She said you should go to the Accountant and ask for the report for the last three months" I nodded and stood up.

"I'll be back" I told him and walked towards the door.

"What's your password?"

"Jadesola with a capital letter J" I told him and walked out of the door, ignoring the sounds that came out from Michael's office, I took the elevator to the third floor.
