48 Don't get in my way

Qrow POV

I make my way back into Beacon to meet Ozpin but I stumble across a bunch of kids and a humanoid Grimm wearing a white t-shirt and some old jeans. This humanoid Grimm is very tall with an extremely well-defined body and muscles. He has ice blue eyes, jet black hair, and a certain look about him that I can't quite place. There exceedingly rare but I've come across one in the past. It took everything I had to defeat him but he was devoured by another Grimm before I got to finish him off. Humanoid Grimm are powerful Grimm that these baby huntsmen can't handle. I can tell it at a glance that he's leaking the same dark energy that all Grimm have. I have to kill him before he completes his mission. Who knows what sinister plan he has going on.

Bagels: FIGHT!

The Grimm recklessly charged toward me. I can easily counter him but for some reason I can't move a single muscle in my body as I was punched in the face. I stumble back and regain control of my body. How is this possible? Does he have a special ability that I haven't encountered before? What is it? How is he able to stop me from moving. This Grimm doesn't give me time to think as he charges once again and behind him I could swear I could see the silhouette of a Gorilla behind him. Unlike before there wasn't any force stopping my movements as he tries to uppercut me this time. I easily dodge and slash my blade across his chest. It was hard to pierce through his skin but his shirt was cut clean through and I could see a black line across his chest. This Grimm didn't flinch as he threw another punch in my direction. I dodge again as I brought my blade down again. Once again, I slashed his chest creating another mark against his skin. It was at this moment that I realized that I couldn't move again as he slammed his fist against my chest. I was once again pushed back. I can't keep taking hits like this. It's a double edge sword but its time to increase the power of my semblance.

The Grimm charges toward me once again but I block his punch with my blade and slash his wrist. He recoils in pain as I kick his leg to knock him off balance. I slash toward him once again as he trips and I make a large cut from his shoulder to his hand. He quickly backs up as only for a large ball flies in from out of nowhere and hits him in the back. He looks behind him to see what happened and I take this opportunity to cut off both of his legs. There is no blood as you would expect from a human but a black ichor sprays out from the wound as he screams in pain and anger. I look back at him to see his eyes warp into one of fear as he flails around on the ground.

Bagels: Please, no.

Qrow: Remember, I play for keeps.

I slash down toward his head to finish him off for good. Before my blade could hit his neck one of the students interfered and stopped my blade before it could.

Jaune: Stop. You've done enough.

Qrow: Get out of the way, kid. I need to destroy the Grimm. There's no telling the kind of damage it could do. Are you forgetting what you do as a huntsman?

Jaune: Destroy Grimm and protect the people around us.

Qrow: If you know that, then get out of the way.

Jaune: He's one of us, you don't have to do this.

Qrow: Foolish.

I knock this man over as I try to finish off this Grimm. It wasn't until a spear missed my face that I realize that it wasn't just the boy that was opposing me but his whole team. What a bother. I have better things to do than teach these kids the meaning of respect. The ninja one jumps out from behind me and tries shooting me with his gun. I transform my weapon into a scythe and deflect all the bullets as a woman with a giant hammer pounces on me from above. I hurriedly dodge out of the way and parry a strike from the redhead. If nothing else, they seem to have good teamwork and coordination. The blonde leader tries to attack me again and despite his skill, he still lacks experience. I block the strike and push him away. I start making my way over to the crawling Grimm. The ninja attempted to strike me with his guns, but I blocked it and pushed him toward the charging hammer girl. They collide and fall to the ground. It wasn't that hard to get to him considering that he has no legs. I slash down to finally end it once and for all.

Jack: NOOOOO!

Another kid shows up and blocks my blow.

Jack: I won't let you do it. If you want him, then you'll have to go through me.

Bagels: Master.

He surprisingly pushes me back and grabs onto the Grimm's hand as he disappears.

Qrow: What did you do kid?

Jack: What I had to do?

Qrow: This isn't some game. Bring him back from whatever you have taken him.

Jack: Make me.

Jack POV

I couldn't let him kill Bagels. I don't know if death is permanent for Bagels now that he's a human. I don't even know how or why he turned into a human. I just know that all the time we spent together meant something to me and I don't want to see the bonds I've formed disappear when I can do something about it. Isn't that why I trained so hard? Why I became Calamity? Why I still keep trying to save Beacon from the dark threat hanging over its head. I won't stop. I won't falter. I will protect the things that I find worth protecting no matter what.

I take in lots of aura from my surroundings to increase my power as I move at an inhuman speed toward Qrow. Qrow looks shocked at my speed but quickly calms down in preparation for my strike. I dash in and act like I'm about to strike him and kick him in the legs. With my enhanced strength he recoils from the strike as I strike down with my sword Light. Qrow blocks my attack but I still keep pushing harder and harder down on him. He seems to be struggling to keep up as he manages to separate from me. I change the dial to the red dust and slash at Qrow once again. He dodges the strike and charges me with a flurry of strikes. I block them all and counter with a few strikes of my own. We go back and forth for a while putting all of our techniques against the other.

Eventually, all the dust in my weapons are depleted and I'm starting to get tired. Even if I absorb aura to enhance my strength, it doesn't increase my stamina as well. If I didn't enhance my speed, strength, and senses with my aura then there would be no way I could even contend with Qrow. This is what it's like to face a professional huntsman. He's stronger than anyone I've faced until now. Then again, I'm still holding back from going all out but I want to be able to live in relative peace after all. Ozpin shows up eventually and calms Qrow down. Ozpin and Qrow head to their office while I thank everyone for looking after Bagels. They were more curious as to how something like this was even possible but I'm just as clueless as they are. One thing I did learn from this is that I can look at the space where the Grimm lives. It seems that there is a little pocket dimension where they rest before I summon them. I could already see Bagels' legs starting to reform. I don't know how long it's going to take but he'll be alright for the time being. As for Qrow, I didn't expect to fight him at all since we were on the same side but for him to recognize Bagel as a Grimm worries me. What other threats has this world come up with to stop us on our path. I think about all of this as I head back to my dorm to rest and be ready to fight in the doubles match tomorrow.
