7 Speeding Through

Author's Note

So I thought about it and realized this would be really boring if nobody knows about Super Powereds, so this chapter is gonna speed through his training arc there before we get to another world that will last longer next chapter.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------My next days passed by quicker than I thought they would. I didn't care all that much about my above ground classes and I was smart enough to coast through them anyway. The part I really focused on was my below ground classes.

Coach George turned out to be a huge help in progressing my abilities. The first of our training sessions he had me right down a list of everything that I could think of that could be affected by my power. Surprisingly, even if I knew that my power worked on things with magnitude and direction and I could even feel those things, I had a hard time coming up with ways those abilities could be used creatively.

I finally found a place to start when I thought about the different applications Accelerator had used. One of them was forming plasma by compressing the wind, which would be something I would attempt, but first I focused on the wind aspect. I remembered watching Kaze no Stigma and in that show the main character made blades of wind through his connection with the spirits. I didn't have that connection, but theoretically I should be able to affect the speed of the wind to increase it to the point it had the same cutting power or potentially greater.

I presented my idea to George and he said "It's a start. Try to make it work though." So some of our sessions were devoted to working on refining my manipulation of wind. The first place I started was by swinging my hand in an arc motion to create the arc of wind I wanted for my blade. I then altered the vectors to increase acceleration, so that it would be fast enough to actually do damage. It took me too long to form the blades. This part came quickly to me, but it was too simple of an application to George.

"Now try to refine it to the point it isn't just a simple blade. How far can you take that manipulation?"

So I devoted even more time to trying to alter the wind in different ways. My first thought was to attempt to create a cyclone, but my first application of that though process led to me creating a different technique. At first, I spun my hand in a circle in front of me, which led to a sort of wind shield forming once I increased the speed. I took the ability from there by thinking of an anime I hadn't really considered as useful for giving me ability ideas. I remembered that in Beyblade, Leone spun fast enough to form a tornado around it, giving it a form of defense. It wasn't super useful to me as a defense, but it could also serve as an offense. It looked dumb, but if I moved my arms 90 degrees and amplified the speed of that wind to keep it going, it formed a tornado around me.

Wind was the easiest option for me to develop, since it was easily created for me to manipulate. Thinking along those lines, George and I spent some time talking about the different vectors I could create with just my body.

His suggestion was to try to find a way to manipulate sound waves, which gave me an idea. There were a lot of ways to create sound with the body, one of the easiest besides talking being snapping. I messed around with altering the magnitude of the sound by increasing how loud it was. It worked, but it went in every direction so I also had to change the vectors to focus the sound waves towards a particular target.

These abilities were what I spent the majority of my time refining, along with increasing my reaction time and spatial awareness through the combat trials held throughout the year. I would go into them without using my reflection, so I had to actually work and react to the different attacks. There were several trials throughout the year, although I coasted through them while handicapping myself to work on one specific aspect.

Half of the year passed by this quickly, with limited interaction between myself and the others in my class. Chad would come to challenge me a couple times at the beginning of the year, but it was pointless as he still couldn't find a way around my shield, while my ranged attacks with wind gave me a new opportunity to distract him long enough for me to get close and restrain him.

I was getting ready to leave this world when something interesting happened. It was when we were let out for winter break, and I had decided to wander some and see what this world had to offer. As I was leaving the school, I saw someone with a tattered red coat watching me from a distance. I quickly dashed towards him, but a shimmering portal opened behind him, and he entered. Increasing my speed with both vector control and Code: Unknown, I dashed into the portal after him before it closed. What I found on the other side was a warehouse with a group of people assembled inside. The one I was looking at, though, was the man across from me. He wore a tattered red coat and had a face that could be considered handsome, if it wasn't for the fact that he was looking at me with anger.

"Who are you, where is Vince!" he yelled at me.

Trying to feign ignorance, I said "What do you mean Father, I am Vince."

"Don't lie to me, I know my son and you are not him."

Deciding to just give up the act, I shifted my appearance into the appearance of Sakamaki Izayoi.

"Fine, I'm not your son, Globe."

He wasn't surprised I recognized him, he was a public hero after all.

"What did you do with him."

Smirking, I said "Wouldn't you like to know."

He growled before saying "Then I'll just have to force it out of you" before I felt the vectors around my body change, with the air itself trying to restrain me. It was closing in, but as soon as it touched my shield it was reflected back, letting a blast of wind shoot out away from me, only ruffling Globe's coat.

"Everyone stand back, he's mine." Globe said to the people around us, before he sent a blast of electricity at me. The electricity hit my shield and was reflected back at him, and as it was heading towards him I followed it up with a wind blade. Before the blade could even get near him, it fizzled out of existence.

I felt gravity around me shift, pulling me into the air, but I just controlled its vectors to return myself to the ground.

'So this is the ability the earned the name The God Field. he can do a lot of different things in his field, with its radius being about 20 feet in all directions. His endurance is way lower than mine, so I could win this with a battle of attrition, but that's not how I want to win this.'

Globe's ability made any ranged attack pretty much pointless, he could just will it into inexistence, so I had to get up close and personal. He can't affect his own body with his power, so I've got to do damage quickly. Pushing off the ground, I altered the vectors increasing my acceleration greatly. I arrived in front of him, reaching out and throwing a punch at his stomach. Unlike Chad, Globe couldn't speed up his reaction time, so he was unable to react fast enough to stop my punch from landing on him.

He was thrown back, but he was an experienced hero and wasn't taken off guard for long.

Looking at Globe, I realized I couldn't keep holding back. His power was as close to reality warping as you could get. Finally deciding to use Code: Unknown after so long, I once again charged Globe, however, this time I swung my fist out and shattered the field that was Globe's power.

His face opened wide with shock at the sudden loss of control he felt, but I didn't give him time to react as I grabbed him by the neck before knocking him unconscious. Looking around myself, I could see that I was surrounded by four people. Two women, a man, and a young boy of around 10. Each of them looking as though they wanted to attack me, but realized it was a futile effort, both because I was stronger than them and because I had their leader in my hands, although the boy just had a worried look on his face.

"Let Phil go." One of the women said, one I recognized as Clarissa, a teleporter who was in love with Globe or Phil as she called him.

"Now why would I do that, he attacked me. I just came to find out why he was following me and suddenly I'm attacked my the most notorious traitor that was ever a hero."

"You did something to Vince and took over his life, Phil had the right to attack you to find out where his son is."

"Valid point, doesn't change the fact that he lost and I won. So I'm deciding how things are going to go."

'They aren't wrong to be angry, but he did attack me first. I can play the villain role perfectly well and get something I want before I leave this world.'

"Fine, what do you want then." Clarissa asked, apparently having been determined spokeswoman.

'This is the annoying part. They don't actually serve any useful purpose to me, but I'm not letting Globe go without punishment. I'm not gonna kill the guy in front of a 10 year old, but he needs to know the consequences of attacking me.'

"You want Phil back, okay then. You can have him back, just not all of him." I said before reaching out and tearing off Globe's leg, then threw the rest of Globe back towards them, with Clarissa catching him.

"There now he's missing a leg to match the arm." Taking out a capsule I put the leg inside of it before returning the capsule to my pocket.

When I tore off his leg, Clarissa let out a shout of no, but was too late to even attempt anything. The other two adults were stoic, while the kid's eyes watered, but otherwise he remained strong.

'Huh, strong kid. It doesn't really matter to me, he's fortunate I didn't outright kill Globe.'

Deciding I was pretty much done with this world, I used the Kaleidoscope to exit the Super Powereds world and head to the next one.
