Chapter 1: Awakening

Awakened, they are supernatural humans who was blessed by the Gods and Demons. Each Awakened had different abilities that they can put to use inorder to protect the world from annihilation.

It was 146 years ago when Rifts appeared to the world. Inside these Rifts was monsters which would kill anyone on sight without any prior warning. The first Rift that came to the world was called the 0TH Gate.

Humans were getting desperate as they moved into various livable planets similar to Earth but their efforts was wasted when the Rifts followed them. The humans became desperate as they thinked of a way to stop the monsters from harming their kind.

They manage to think of many ways but non of their ideas worked. The guns and Nuclear Bombs that they were proud of was ignored by the monsters. The desperate humans was in despair until some humans heard voices inside their heads.

[We can aid you and give you powers to fight against monsters.]

[What we want in return is your loyalty and faith. If you pray and worship us, we would help you.]

With no other way, the desperate humans accepted the Voice's offer and worship them in turn for power which the Beings happily gave them. With their new found power, they fought against the Monsters and managed to keep them at bay for the last hundred years.

The year was 2400, and i suddenly heard a voice inside my head with a transparent window infront of me.

[Congratulations! You have awakened.]

"Eh?" I was shocked and gasped out loud.

I immediately held my breath and shut my mouth as i was in school, learning. I didn't think that i would suddenly Awaken today when i lost all my hope yesterday.

Yesterday was my 16th Birthday and it was normal for people to Awaken at their 16th Birthday, but that day, i didn't hear a voice telling me that i awakened. I thought that i was one of the 'Normal' who had no blessings given to them by the gods.

I didn't think that i would Awaken today, is my birthday supposed to be today? But it was written in my birth certificate that i was born in 16th of July which was yesterday.

I pushed the thought of my late Awakening to the back of my head and forgot about it. I was excited. I mean, who wouldn't get excited from being given a blessing from the gods themselves.

I wonder what blessing i got. I shook my head to push out the thoughts and focused on the lesson that the schoolteacher teach us. I stayed silent and listened to whatever the schoolteacher said.

Someone suddenly tugged my sleeves in a secretive manner, i looked to the left and saw my deskmate passing a paper with words on it. She then shyly looked away from me as i took the paper from her.

The girl's name was Lilith, she was a cute and beautiful but shy girl. She had a long red hair that go all the way to her waist, her body was like that of an hour glass that it was comparable to modern famous models.

She was the class representative and the top student of the school that it would make sense if she was the School President. But unfortunately due to her quiet and shy personality, she didn't get elected to be one as her personality was not fit to be a leader.

Lilith was also my childhood friend since birth as both of our mothers was friends since they were small, to the point that they considered themselves to be sisters. I met Lilith when we were 4, at that time, she was just a small child who would follow behind me.

But i like the fact that she always depends on me to protect her and help her. She was like a sister to me until she confessed her feelings to me when we were 14. I was shock and wasn't on the right mind that time, i treated her like a sister that i didn't think of her as a woman.

I painfully rejected her, but instead of crying and losing all her strength and hating me, her confidence grew higher. She made a bet with me that one day, she would make me fall in love with her so bad that i would marry her which she managed to do in just a few months after her confession.

She won the bet after a few months of successfully seducing and making me love her which made me lose the bet.

"Cain! L-lets make a bet then!"

"Huh? Why?"

"Just accept it!"

"O-okay?"

"Okay! If i can make you fall in love with me in a year, then i will become your fiancee and you must marry me! If i can't then..... Then i'll try again!"

"... Isn't that only advantageous to you and you alone?"

"No!"

Remembering that day made me smile a little. We have been dating for two years and i haven't lost my feelings for her. She was successful in seducing and making me love her so much that we promised each other to get married in the future.

Just now, she wrote to me that she didn't want to go back to my house with me. Although we always go home together, she seldom have something to do that made her not able to go with me.

Last time, her little brother was in the hospital with a high fever, she didn't tell me anything and only told me that she had something to do.

I wonder what she's doing now? Did she have a problem at her house again?

Anyway, not that it matters right? If for the worst was to happen, i'll have to follow her from behind secretly and see what's going on.
