19 Chapter 19: Giving too much will destroy both the giver and the recipient

"Who's there!!" - exclaimed Claire Cagino, taking a defensive position towards the other bank of the river.

"Hoo, you really look different from others your age" - Akira said admiringly as he sensed Claire's killing intent.

Although Claire's killing intent was so small that it didn't matter in Akira's eyes, it was impressive for people of Claire's age who were reluctant to even take up arms, let alone think of killing someone.

Claire again lunges at Akira, but this time with the intent of killing him.

"You still have a long way to go to claim my life," Akira said lightly, punching all the holes in Claire's defense.

Akira had to admit that Claire was a genius because she reduced the gaps in her defense with each of Akira's blows.

"!!!" - Akira was surprised by Claire's request because he didn't expect this to happen because he just wanted to bully her a bit.

"I want to be stronger" - Claire exclaimed again and did not lift her head from the ground.

"In order to protect my younger brother," Claire said without hesitation, not noticing the change in Akira.

"Why do you want to protect your younger brother when he can't protect himself?" - Akira asked again, not knowing whether to laugh or cry because of Claire's reason for wanting to protect Shido, who was the strongest human in this world without the slightest doubt.

"Because he's my younger brother, and I have to protect him," Claire answered again, raising her head, causing her eyes to meet Akira's.
