Chapter 1

Little Swann was running in the hallways , holding a sheet of paper in her hands. She was running fast towards her parents before they could embark on their business trip. She had a big smile on her face. Her parents noticed the fast steps and looked at Little Swann. The maid immediately warned Little Swann from running in the hallways. But , Little Swann ignored the maid's words.

''Daddy! Mommy! Look! I drew us!''

Little Swann raised the paper with a wide smile on her face.

No...

Don't smile..

Her parents looked at her with a blank face. Little Swann was confused at their expressions. Her mother bent down and spoke to Little Swann with a forced smile.

''I-It's great.. But , we have to go , okay?''

Her mother stood up and was about to walk out of the door with her father. Little Swann wasn't satisfied with their reactions. Little Swann grabbed her father's hand and shouted.

''Is it ugly?! Don't leave! I'll do better , just please don't leave!''

Everyone was startled by what she said. Her father felt irritated and shook off Little Swan's hands and accidentally pushed down Little Swann. Little Swann winced in pain and started to cry. The servants immediately went over to Little Swann and helped her up. Her parents didn't even bother helping her and left. Little Swann tried to reach them but soon gave up.

You shouldn't smile like that..

You were born a mistake. You weren't meant to live. That's the reason why they left you.

You're nothing , Swann Crown. You don't have a reason to live anymore. Give up.

It's pointless.

Swann was sitting on a chair , near the balcony. Swann looked up at the sky and snicker from recalling the past. She closed her eyes and was about to take a nap. All of a sudden , a knock from the door interrupted Swann. She ordered the person at the door to enter. A servant of theirs entered with a tray of food. The servant placed the tray of food on the table and bowed to Swann. The servant left the room and Swann smiled bitterly.

She started walking towards the food and sighed heavily. Swann wouldn't dare go down to do anything. She made a rule in the household where , if her parents are either present or eating breakfast downstairs , one servant should bring breakfast to her when that happens or atleast notify her. Before , her parents wouldn't eat any three meals inside the house and come back if necessary. Swann got used to that but recently , her parents has been eating breakfast and dinner at home. So , she had to act fast and planted that simple rule.

She finished the food and left it there. A knock was heard on the door and Swann opened the door.

''My Lady , I'll be getting the dishes. And , Both Masters are still present in the living room.''

Swann felt irritated and let the servant get the dishes. The servant then left and Swann sighed. Her University's about to start and her parents are still present. Swann couldn't take it any longer and changed into her uniform. ( She finished taking a bath before eating breakfast ). She packed up her things and went out of the room. She was walking down the stairs and noticed her parents stare.

She ignored their presence and reached for the door. Her father's voice ringed in the house.

"How dare you not greet your parents! You ungrateful brat!"

Her father angrily shouted at Swann. Swann didn't even give a glance to them and left the house. She just treated them like thin air. Her father sat down and clenched his fists. Her mother tried to calm her father down.

Swann went to the garage to be greeted by her driver. Swann bowed to her driver and the driver did the same thing.

"My Lady , you needn't not to bow to me like that!"

Swann chuckled from his demand.

"You deserve it! After all , you saved me from that horrifying accident. I would have been dead by now.. "

Her driver smiled at Swann and he opened the car door for her. She entered and they start to drive to the University. She was able to catch up with time and entered the school running. Everyone greeted her and Swann immediately entered her designated classroom. Once again , she was then center of attention. Swann didn't mind and started walking towards her seat. She sat down and everyone went to do their business.

Swann felt tired from all that running and layed her head on her desk. She observed her classmates and saw how they all smiled sincerely and sweetly.

'How long has it been ever since I smiled like that..?'

Swann closed her eyes and took a nap.

'Will I ever smile like that again..?'

She thought.
