1 Moments before

"For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo" with a sigh Elizabeth closed the book, hugging it to her chest.

She wanted a love like this, a love that was all consuming, a love worth dying for. It had bothered her to know that she'd never before felt such love and her soul ached for it.

She closed her eyes and fell back onto her bed, dreaming of the day when she would meet someone. A light scratching on the foot of her bed made her smile, she quickly sat up and picked up Summer. (Summer was a blonde miniature Toypom and Elizabeth's fur baby). 'Hey girl, when did you come in?' Elizabeth said stroking her head. Summers ears twitched just then as the sound of the front door was being opened. They were home.

Elizabeth quickly got up to go greet her mother and her sister Naomi who had just arrived from the airport. 'Hey Noemsi, how was the flight' Elizabeth greeted Naomi with a kiss on the cheek and a warm smile. Naomi looked tired after her long flight and simply responded with a 'fine'. 'Hey mom, hope traffic wasn't too bad, here let me.' she said as she took the bag her mother was carrying.

Elizabeth was still living at home with her mother and younger brother because her mother was against women leaving home before marriage. Since Elizabeth didn't even have a boyfriend, she knew she would be there for a while.

Her brother Chris still probably playing games or watching anime had yet to greet their older sister and mother, the latter was becoming more impatient with his actions. Seeing this Elizabeth excused herself with the ruse of putting down the bag.

She had been Chris' protector and knowing full well what trouble he would get into, she rushed to get him, dropping the bags at the door of the guest room. She would place them on the bed once she had gotten Chris to get them and take the bags Naomi was carrying to the room.

Running into his bedroom, she removed his headset, he was in fact playing games as she expected and he wasn't happy about being disturbed.

'You better go quick, Mom and Naomi are back, please remember to offer to take the bags and not to forget your manners.' With a sigh he put down his controllers and left the room. She loved her brother but he didn't have the best manners and would always get into fights with their mother about it.

Elizabeth followed him out of the room and turned the corner where she dropped the bag. Picking it up, she quickly put it on the bed and opened the windows to let in some fresh air into the room.

After she walked to the kitchen to pour drinks and start dinner.

As she finished pouring drinks she looked up to see Chris watching her with a cheeky grin on his face. 'Thanks' he said just before he turned around to leave.
