4 Missed connections

After dinner, Elizabeth rab to her room, returning to the open chatroom to find a message from Kaos. He was offline again so Elizabeth couldn't help but sigh in dissapointment, however she felt a jolt of excitement as she opened the chat to find two messages.

"I'm sorry for disappearing so suddenly. I had to take care of something. As for your question, I usually use the site to get recommendations for good anime's, although I'd be happy to make a new friend."

"I don't usually go onto this chatroom often, if you would like to continue talking via other means, why don't you give me your phone number?"

Seeing these two messages, Elizabeth's cheeks flushed red. Was he flirting with her? Although Elizabeth has always been cautious of giving her personal information to other people she felt an odd sense of trust from this complete stranger. Almost like they had met in a previous life.

She quickly sent him a reply with her phone number and told him the different social media methods he could use to get into contact with her. She then logged off and decided to send her friend a WhatsApp message.

"Liv, you should hurry back to town. Naomi is visiting and I need a few excuses to go out. Also Chris is getting better at cooking, I know you love bossing him around ;) , maybe you can get him to make us Lasagne" (send)

Elizabeth knew that Liv had a small crush on Chris and that just mentioning him would get her a quick response. As expected, not long after she sent the message her phone ring twice. She smiled at herself knowing it was a message from Liv.

"I would NEVER boss Chris around! Besides, although I would really love to eat whatever he makes, I can't come back for at least another week. Mom wants to visit my Grandparents and I have to go with but as soon as I can, I'll come back."

Elizabeth's eyes smiled at her friend's message, Liv was just too easy to tease. Elizabeth actually hoped that Chris would someday realize Liv on his own but he was much to aloof from this world. He realized that Liv was really nice to him and he would actually come out of his room to hang out everytime Liv came over. There was a time when Elizabeth thought Chris had a crush on Liv but he never mentioned her. All Elizabeth could do is sit down and watch from the sidelines.

Elizabeth sat on her bed in a daze for a while before she decided to get up and take a shower.

She walked into the bathroom, turned on the water and undressed, throwing her clothes into the laundry basket.

Where most people enjoy bathing to calm down, Elizabeth preferred the shower. she loved the way the water tickled her skin as it landed on her. It made her feel free, as if she was in an oasis, standing underneath a waterfall.

She felt so happy in that moment that she started singing in the shower.

'...I got sunshine on a cloudy day...'

'...when it's cold outside, I have the month of may...'

'...I guess you say, what can make me feel this way?...'

'...MY girl...'

Elizabeth laughed at her choice of song. It was old but she always felt so much joy everytime she sang it.

Chris was walking past the bathroom to his bedroom when he heard Elizabeth's sweet voice coming from the shower. He smiled to himself, happy that his sister seemed to have cheered up. Of course he was going to make fun of her a little later about her song choice but what is a little teasing between siblings.

At this moment Elizabeth's phone rang...
