1 -One

The night was cold,

as if the darkness had frozen.

The blackness of the shadows

Freezing everything the light didn't touch

Shielding it from its warmth

I'll never forget that night.

The night my parents died.

The night I killed them.

Wait

That came out wrong

You See

The fact is

I am innocent

I stood there, my feet felt chained to the floor. I watched as the puddle of blood made its way towards me. It slowly came from beneath the door mixed with the dreadful screams of my mother. Screams that will haunt me forever. Screams that began to torture my ears. Until suddenly, the room fell silent. The puddle of blood finally reached my feet, I watched as the last essence of my family washed away on the tile. I stared at the door knob, trying to find the strength to proceed.

I took one step at a time, unshackling myself from those fearful chains that kept me frozen in place. With fear, I opened the door only to see my mother spread out on the dinner table. Blood still gushed from the knives that were left implanted in her body. She was spread across the table, each knife in each corner. One in both hands, One implanted in both of the feet. The shadowy figure moved in the darkness of the kitchen, turning on the faucet as he began to wash off the knife.

Her throat was cut as well, leaving the huge ocean of blood. The knife he used on her, the knife he used to take her life. I watched as he stared at the knife. His stare was intense. His body was frozen for about 30 secs before his head quickly jerked in my direction.

The shadows hid his face , but his eyes glowed as if the light reflected off his iris's. He then stepped into the light . Revealing his smile. The grin a killer, and the smile resembled my own. I stared in shock as I looked at the face, the split image of my own. A face that was identical. He smiled at me, a devious smile. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

This had to be a delusion, I think I'm going in shock, I think I'm seeing things. This man couldn't possibly have my face, my nose, the exact placement of my beauty mark, even the scar on my lip from when I was a child. He just stood their staring at me, just smiling at me until he finally spoke "Hello" his tone gave off intelligence, he spoke loudly, firm his voice echoed throughout the house.

Our voices sounded the same but he used the words differently, you can tell The man speaking is older than I,. He stood up straight, buttoning up the suit that had blood smeared all over it. He still clutched on to the knife as he tighten his tie and straighten his posture as if he were looking in a mirror.

I was still frozen in place, my body felt empty as I glanced at my mother's lifeless body. Her blood, but a puddle on the floor, which wash over my feet like a tide in the Pacific. Her body just lying there, butchered, cut up like some animal; my mother.

I heard his footsteps until they were covered in blood, his steps were slushing as his dress shoes were drowned in the crimson . We stood there face to face, I honestly can say that I was staring at my twin. In this case my evil twin;

I stood there analyzing his face watching him as he watched me. I scanned his skin, his eyes, his lips; trying to find something that was out of place, trying to find something that I couldn't recognize but it was no use we were identical.
