Date night part one

As I was making Petal's favorite meal, I heard her phone vibrating on the kitchen counter. She always forgot where she put it, and we ended up spending hours looking for it. Picking up her phone, I saw that she received a message from Jacob to respect her privacy. I didn't read, but I felt jealousy take over me and anger.

The fact that Jacob is closer to Petal makes me feel both angry and guilty. But the fact that she chose me as the man she loves puts me at ease. Putting the phone down, I went back to making the food for Petal.

In the bedroom.

Opening my eyes, the first thing I did was turn around to see if Ethan was sleeping on the bed with me or not, he wasn't but the smell of food explained why he wasn't with me.

Pushing the covers off me, I was greeted with the side of Ethan, and five dogs sitting close to the bed, watching over me as I slept. Ethan had retrained the dogs after we came to live here. Now, the dogs follow me around everywhere, especially when Ethan is not around.

Getting off the bed, I made my way towards them and sat down on the floor with them. I patted their heads gently. It was my way of thanking them for taking care of me. The dogs came closer to me and asked to be patted more by me, and that made me laugh as I patted them. I stayed with them for a while before I left them and went to take a quick shower and went downstairs to the kitchen feeling hungry and curious to know what he was making but by the smell, I could tell it was my favorite meal.

On my way to the kitchens, I put on my hearing aids before I reached the kitchen, and once I did, I heard Ethan talking on the phone. I entered the kitchen and he immediately walked towards me when he saw me.

"I'll call you later," Ethan said and ended the call.

Placing a kiss on my forehead, he cupped my face and looked at me with worried eyes like he always does and asked."How do you feel?"

"I'm fine." I signaled and tried to peek from behind him, but he was taller than me. I was so hungry and I just wanted to eat.

I heard Ethan laugh, and that made me feel embarrassed."I'm hungry." I signaled as I slipped from his arms and went to look at what he was baking in the oven, and I was right it was my favorite dish, Pasta béchamel.

Lately, Ethan has become an expert chef. But, he only cooks for me. He had learned how to cook because I don't like to eat ordered and fast food, and that made me fall in love with it even harder.

"Five minutes, and it will be ready." I heard Ethan say from behind me.

I turned around and looked at the kitchen counter and saw that Ethan was making the salad, so I decided to help him with it."I will finish it. You go prepare the juice." I said, signaling to him.

"Okay. Be careful with knives." Ethan said, pinching my cheek gently before he walked towards the refrigerator, and I went towards the sink to wash my hands to prepare the salad.

Ten minutes later, lunch was ready, but before we ate, Ethan prepared the dogs' meals, and we called them for their meals. After that, we sat at the table and started to eat our food.

Picking up the fork, I took a bite from the pasta béchamel, and the taste of the well-cooked macaroni and meat along with the delicious taste of béchamel sauce and cheese was heavenly. I gave Ethan a thump up as I continued eating.

"Is it good?" Ethan asked as he reached to push my hair back.

I nodded and replied, signaling."It's perfect."

I saw him smile at me as he scoped more food on my plate and then some for him. I continued eating, feeling grateful, and thinking about how happy my life turned out to be. But there was that doubt inside of me that I never stopped thinking about, but I never shared it with Ethan.

I glanced at him while he was eating, wondering if the constant quietness did not bother him sometimes.

I couldn't ask this question because I'm scared of the answer. Thinking about all of this made my chest feel heavy, and I had the urge to cry, but I held myself back and continued eating my food. I didn't want to ruin the peaceful moment.

"Let's go out for dinner tonight." I heard Ethan say as I felt his hand on mine.

I looked at him and nodded my head. It was a great idea, and it was just what I needed right now.

Ethan POV

"Should I make a reservation at your favorite restaurant?" I asked as I pulled her chair closer to me.

"Yes." Petal replied, Signaling.

"You do like that restaurant." I said as I pulled out my phone from my pocket.

I saw Petal smile and nodded her head in agreement." The view there is beautiful." She said, signaling.

As she was smiling, I found myself just looking at her, thinking how smiling alone is captivating. My body was immediately consumed with the desire to have, to feel her closer, her warmth and everything.

"It is." I replied as I read the restaurant manager's message.

Putting my phone on the table, I stood up and picked her in my arms, and she naturally warped her arms around my neck.
