6 Chapter 6: Leveling like a Madman

As Jetstream streaked across the sky, I remembered to activate my item.
[Ed] 'York, turn on the exp multiplier.'
[York] Activating 10x exp multiplier for 10 hours

And then, the kills started ringing in.

[Ed] 'I only get 1 EXP per chicken with a 10x multiplier. How long would it take for me to reach level 10?'
[York] Each level requires double the exp of the previous level. It would require 5110 EXP for you to reach level 10.
[Ed] 'Good thing there's a lot of chickens here.'

[Ed] 'York, these messages are going to get annoying really soon. Can you save them until after the 10 hour boost is over?'
[York] Disabling Kill Notifications.
[Ed] 'I guess now all I have to do is pick up the bodies.'
After 30 minutes, I walked through the trail of death; collecting bodies of dismembered chickens.
I could only summon Jetstream once every hour, so I took a 30 minute break to figure out where the gallbladder of a chicken was, only for York to scold me for not asking.
I spent a full 10 hours repeating this process of piling up bodies.

Since I leveled up along the way, I managed to summon Kuriboh and the Firefly to help kill chickens, which increased the killing speed near the end of the 10 hours.
[Ed] 'I can finally use all my cards at once. I'll figure out a good way to spend my SP later. York, why did some of my stats increase without me using SP?'
[York] In the Beginner's manual, it says that depending on class, your stats will increase proportionately to your level.
[Ed] 'After finishing college, I vowed never to read a book again unless it was absolutely necessary.'
[York] Why did I even give you that book in the first place you lazy bum.
After letting the bodies bleed out and removing the gall, I realized I hadn't eaten a thing all day. With York's directions, I managed to remove all the inedible and gross parts of 2 Demonic chickens. Then, I took a stick and stabbed it through a few hunks of meat to make a skewer. Most of the branches in the area were damp, so I used my Beginner's Guidebook as kindling. After all, I could just ask York for information. While the book started to burn, I prepared a few more chickens. With all the sticks arranged like a tent over the blazing knowledge, the chicken started to emit an amazing smell. When the book stopped burning, I let the chicken sit there for a while to cool down.
After a 5 minute wait, I was about to take my first bite when suddenly, an childish voice shouted out.
[???] "Whoa! That smells delicious! You guys think that whoever's cooking that will share it with us?"
And then, an indignant voice replied.
[???] "What stranger would ever give food to an idiot like you Naruto?"
[Ed] 'Did he just say what I think he said?'
