21 God is The Devil, and The Devil is The God...

Opis, after escaping from his own race with his brother Magnus, now resided in the very same island, on which the others were now trapped.

"Zephyr, do you mind losing?" The man looked at the sky with a pensive look, no caring about the question.

"I don't, not until they come to destroy us, " the green-haired man replied in a grim, and heavy tone; his smile was now gone.

"I thought so. You know, playing the Devil the last time wasn't half bad, was it?" He stretched his hands and added with a nonchalant gaze.

Zephyr looked at his white hair and smiled."Why wouldn't it be good? I still remember the previous, learning under him was one of the best moments of my life. I still remember the battle between him and Aqua. It was nothing more than a ruthless fight of two monsters."

Zephyr pulled a chair and sat down. "Do you miss those who have left us?"

Opis grabbed the seat to next him and smiled as a sense of nostalgia ran across his mind.

"Do you know that Aqua asked the same question before?"

"Cain…" Opis shouted as a blue rift in space appeared out of nowhere, and out of it emerged Cain.

Cain bowed down to him and asked with a tone filled with respect and admiration. "What is Magnus doing now?"

His blue eyes sparkled as the rising sunlight hit them.

"Magnus… he has found a candidate for the position of his apostle. He says this time will be more interesting than before."

The white-haired man rubbed his chin as he tilted his head upright. "That was fast. Any idea on who he is?"

Cain shook his head. "No, he is neither telling it to Abel nor to me. He wants to give you a surprise."

Opis chuckled. "Well, I can't lose my brother. I need to work hard too."

After fleeing from them, Opis and Magnus created the entire universe, in the middle of the void and never relaxed a bit, for they knew that their past wouldn't leave them so easily and will haunt them forever. They needed to pass their torch, to the next generation, in order to fight and protect the world they know.

In this world, God was the Devil, and the Devil was God. Both were the same, yet different.

Veru opened his eyes, as the olive pupils revealed themselves to the world. A bright light that made its way through the thick canopy hit his face, which had some leaves stuck onto them; the leaves were vibrant red in color and sparked as the yellow light touched them; they shone as if they were diamond, and light refracted all over them.

Veru got up as he saw the tree and their fruits hanging on the tall unreachable branches.

'I want to eat them, even if it is just a tiny bit.' He was determined as he looked around at his surroundings once again.

"....."

Veru scoured the entire area with his olive eyes, but he hardly found any fallen fruits. His stomach grumbled.

'I will be able to climb safely if I am careful enough,' he took a deep breath as he looked for the tree, where the fruit hung from the lowest branch.

Finding a tree, with fruit hanging just above his head, Veru grabbed one of the lower branches pulling and climbed over it.

Though Veru lived near the shores, he was very well adept at climbing. It was all because of his habit of climbing up the trees and looking at the ground from above.

Veru pulled himself up the branch, which was an inch thick and sturdy enough to support his weight.

He managed to climb over the branch, but he was in a predicament.

The next branch at which the fruit hanged was way above his reach as there was no support to climb with.

He looked at the ground and sighed in relief. He wasn't very high, and could easily jump off the tree anytime.

Despite the branch being far away from his reach, he decided to trust his capabilities and recalled what Hose had once told him.

"If you want something, and know it's impossible, but you have nothing to lose, then you should just close your eyes, and jump straight into it. If you fail, then leave it, but if you somehow manage to get it, then it gives a sense of victory. In any case, you have nothing to lose."

Recalling those words, he chuckled to himself. "I wonder what he would have been doing if he was in my place?"

He stiffened his body as he stood still. "I have something to lose here, but…" he relaxed his body. He had now no control over his arms, his shoulders looked as if they weren't shoulders but rather wings fluttering in the air.
