Chapter 65: Vale

~Albus POV~

Vale what a wonderful and plain Kingdom to be in.

And the most progressive.

Vale is located on the northeastern end of Remnant's largest continent, Sanus.

It is bordered to the northwest by shallow waters and to the southeast by steep mountains.

These geographic features make Vale a place of relative safety.

The Vale region is known to contain the City of Vale and several coastal cities, as well as Patch, a small island to the west.

Beacon Academy, one of the four main Huntsman Academies of Remnant, is located in the City of Vale, while Signal Academy is located on the island of Patch.

An attempt to expand the reach of the region to the southeast resulted in the ill-fated extension, Mountain Glenn.

Other areas of interest include the Forever Fall Forest and the Emerald Forest.

The island of Vytal is situated to the north of the Kingdom.

Merlot's Island was used by Dr. Merlot to help him continue his experiments after he caused the destruction of Mountain Glenn.

Still need to work on finding the mad man but at a later date.

Vale is a large city on the western coast of the Kingdom of Vale.

Vale has a large port area where passenger and cargo ships dock, including international ships from Vacuo and Atlas.

The cargo docks include large-scale container handling facilities, indicating that the port handles large quantities of goods on a frequent basis.

To the southeast lies a mountainous and uninhabited area, but it is also known to contain the ruins of Mountain Glenn, a failed attempt by the kingdom to extend the city's borders.

The location was overrun by Grimm and had to be fenced off from the rest of the city.

The commercial district of Vale includes numerous shops for the public catering to a variety of lifestyles and interests befitting its vibrant and diverse culture.

From Dust Till Dawn - a Dust shop that also sells books, tools, and other related merchandise.

A Simple Wok - a street-side noodle stand.

Tukson's Book Trade - a bookstore with a comprehensive selection.

Crow's Bar - a food and alcohol establishment with live TV access.

Junior's Club - a dance club with nefarious ties.

Clothing stores – stores that provide great style and comfort for the people.

Bakery – a place where food or bread is bought like cakes, bread, cupcakes, cookies, etc.

The architecture of the commercial district appears to vary widely, possibly according to socioeconomic factors.

While some areas appear to be surrounded by buildings with well-kept brick façades, holographic streetlamps, pedestrian crossing, and clear streets, other areas appear to be more low-income, such as those surrounding Junior's Club, which are characterized by metal, bare concrete, and powerlines.

The city of Vale also has a Town Center.

Vale's center has a small park in a lowered area, surrounded by buildings.

The area has grass and trees and the middle features a raised platform that functions as a stage for gatherings and announcements.

"Albus your inner monologuing again."

"Huh?"

Stopping my train of thought as I was now currently inside with Cinder enjoying my time with her inside a café as my truck is filled with her new clothes, she talked to me again with a smile on her face, "Haha. Didn't think you actually be monologuing inside your head Albus. Bit childish don't you think."

Coughing a bit into my hand at that embarrassment I began to reply to Cinder about that subject, "Ahem…! I suppose so… but then again considering I had to live out in the while with only my thoughts after escaping from Hazel. It certainly helps my mind knowing I can talk to people."

Cinder nods at that I talked about my time in Remnant of my story and how I survived thus far as we talked more about our life's stories.

Have to say we both have it tough in some cases but hers is worse than my own.

Cinder next begins to talk to me while she scarfs down an ice cream cone as she talked to me in a happy tone, "Yeah. But still, I can't believe I had to shop for all of that clothes. Also all the Dust supplies I got from the local Dust Till Dawn store. But…"

She then pauses as I began to reply the obvious as I took a sip of my strawberry milkshake as spoke, "Yeah that old man… he's just everywhere. I mean look at the café store owner. They are multiplying spreading like mycosis."

Proving my point Cinder blinks a bit before she tilts her head towards the side to see the old man again.

This is becoming the Pokémon Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny situation.

So many relatives or clones…

My theory is on clones.

Definitely on clones no other explanation.

Cinder shakes her head as she began to clear her concern as she spoke to me ignoring the old man as I waved at him, "Ok you may have a point on the old man…. But no I'm not talking about him. I'm talking about this."

Showing to me her concern I saw the new Scroll she got from Beacon that she was joined to Beacon Academy testing exam as Cinder has been going through her Scroll and pre-paid textbooks for her to buy to study up on some certain subjects for class.

Still, she's a smart cookie but…

It feels a bit weird that she got accepted but…

Shaking my head I ignored the weirdness and congratulated Cinder on her work getting a chance to enter the Beacon Academy entrance exam comforting her worries, "Yeah. Bit strange but… look at the bright side though you clearly earned this just as much as anyone. Even if it's a chance you ain't going fail on this aren't you?"

Hearing that Cinder laughs it off a bit as she nods at me as she began to get confident again, "Yeah. I need to have more courage in myself and self-confidence. I will pass the Beacon Academy Exam and become a Huntress. This way when I become one I can go thank the person who helped guided me on this path."

Smirking a bit I'm glad to see the changes for the better.

Already the night in Vale streets as I began to wander around the area as I look through the night.

Although it was a major pain in the ass to get all of her clothing and underwear to the floor she requested with Madame Lien's amount she will be fine.

Right now she's studying to catch up with other Beacon applicants as I encouraged her to get in as she's studying when the Hunter Exam starts up.

Good for her.

As for me, I'm casually having a midnight walk across the city of Vale as I use my Ult. Eye to get away from the danger of spies within the general area hiding my face from the pins but otherwise have been enjoyable.

Ahh…

Days like these make me feel alive and grateful.

*Swoosh*

And… spoke to fucking soon.

God fucking damn it.

I immediately felt someone tap me in my pockets as I checked immediately.

Checking it... yup it's what I expected...

Gone.

Feeling that my wallet is gone and next my vision got restored again I used my Ult. Eye to spot the person taking my Lien wallet as I just got robbed during the night.

Sigh…

Shaking my head with a noticeable smile on my face I guess I better get to better getting my Lien back.

Didn't expect to find Emerald stealing from me when I'm searching for her in actuality she came to me.

Turning around I began to rush back getting my wallet as I turned around the corner where the thief left – Huh?

Was there always been a wall here?

When I turned around and looked around I nervously scratch the back of my head looking around the area talking to myself, "Wait… I know there wasn't a wall from before but…"

Touching the wall that was there –

*Crack*

My eyes widen seeing the glass crack like this as I noticed very identical pink shards falling off I could only mouth one person who could be behind this mind fuckery.

"Neo."

Now, this is really weird.

Neo and Emerald teaming up in Vale?

This certainly wasn't something I was expecting.

Narrowing my eyes but soon a smirk became apparent as I began to talk to myself as I began to walk back to my truck talking to myself, "Well this is certainly interesting. With Roman dead and Emerald and Neo teaming up out of nowhere… it feels like a mystery behind this. And I don't mind figuring this out."

But for now, I need to meet up with the White Fang.

Certainly easy when I use my Alchemy to dig me a path.

I'll investigate the reasons why Neo and Emerald team up later for now I need to retreat back to the White Fang camp to keep up my end of the bargain.

Then the hunt for ice cream girl and green thief but first back to training.
