Chapter 5: Deny
~Albus POV~
Sigh…
Still, nothing I can gain trying to sense Ki of anyone or unlocking my own.
Now that's just bad.
Guess it can't be that easy for me to do considering the fact I need time to get used to it.
But the view from the window looks promising enough for me to see outside.
The town has bright and colorful and filled with simply raised houses.
It had a canal running through it and it was surrounded by a wall. It had the main avenue leading from the entrance to the main square.
The center of the city features an open area with a large cherry blossom tree where merchants set a small marketplace.
There were also many stores situated in that area.
The city was filled with potted plants, and bushes and the canal had lotus flowers.
Great that means I can probably pay for some stuff here.
At least from the view, I got from my hospital room.
Since learning Touki is a bust for now I'll need to train more to unlock it.
Still having Cursed Energy and Mana from Re: Zero is good for now.
Just need to maintain them for the time being with Cursed Energy being my strongest currently.
But after some time I think I got what my Cursed Energy power is now that I have a clearer mind and the Black Flash helping me out.
Using my Cursed Energy I began to restore myself and yes I used the words correctly here.
Ow…
Pain still there but only a flinch.
Healing myself using Cursed Energy is practically impossible because I need to be well versed in using Reversed Cursed Technique to be able to pull this off.
Cursed energy is born from negativity, so human flesh can't be regenerated from it even if it can be reinforced. By multiplying negative energy together, positive reverse cursed energy can be created.
This can only be done using a reverse cursed technique, which requires extremely complex and sophisticated cursed energy control.
But here it is doing the impossible as I feel my body stamina is returning me back to full health using my Innate Cursed Technique.
Ahh…
Much better.
I soon figured this out when I tried to find out what my Cursed Technique was once I unlocked Black Flash as my understanding soon became apparent to me.
Cursed Techniques, commonly shortened to simply Techniques, are a form of advanced jujutsu that grant the user specialized abilities. Different types include innate techniques, barrier techniques, shikigami, and all jujutsu they encompass as well.
If cursed energy is comparable to electricity, cursed techniques are home appliances that use cursed energy to fuel them. Cursed energy can be used as a blunt force, or to reinforce the body, but these applications are not considered cursed techniques.
Instead, cursed techniques flow cursed energy into them to carry out a specific function, granting the user a special ability.
It's a shame I can't copy down the other characters' techniques from the show because of the nature of the power.
Innate Techniques are intrinsic supernatural powers congenitally engraved into a sorcerer when they are born.
They generally manifest around the age of five or six and are completely unique to the respective user.
These techniques cannot be copied in most cases because they require innate talent to possess.
For those who possess an innate technique, it is considered to be 80% of their skillset.
Even among sorcerers, it is rare to possess enough intrinsic talent to be born with an innate technique.
Those born with one can train theirs to be stronger even if it is considered to be weak once they first learn to use it.
When someone refers to their own personal cursed technique, they're generally talking about their innate technique.
Also, I can't be able to use Inherited techniques to copy down mimic maybe but definitely not copying.
Inherited Techniques are innate techniques that can be passed down through the bloodlines of sorcerer families.
These techniques are especially powerful even among cursed techniques. Cultivating and passing down these techniques is what allows sorcerer families to maintain their prosperity in the jujutsu community.
Inherited Technique users have the advantage of being equipped with a manual on how to use them. However, passing down a technique through generations also presents the issue of other groups learning how the ability works, along with its shortcomings.
But healing while using cursed energy seems to be my Innate Cursed Technique.
Or rather I guess it could be considered 'restoration' of the subject in question I come in contact with that seems to activate the ability.
Hence my Innate Cursed Technique is Cursed Restoration.
The unique ability is to restore objects or organisms through touch while using Cursed Energy.
I have already experimented on myself and on others to have the key idea of what it can do.
It can repair the damage, heal injuries, revert chemical changes and complex structures to their raw components, and heal the user.
What the Cursed Restoration can't restore is does not cure illnesses as victims are not considered damaged or restore life to a dead organism considered dead.
At least till I tested it out but I can safely say that for now, I can surmise that much.
Hopefully.
In a sense, it basically reverts things to their original state rather than healing but that's something I can do since it restores something to its original state.
This includes my stamina as well being restored so I can try again but only where it originally was.
Like say for example if I train I do get tired from it I use it to restore my stamina but it will be only where I originally started so I can always return with little energy I began with not the new increase of it.
I have time in the world to figure this out time to make the most of it.
Just hopefully enough to understand what timeline of events I'm in to get a better grasp of my situation.
/////
Taking a full day to recover from the attack I already talked with the person who met me who was just an ordinary person with an important job here overlooking me.
We talked for a few minutes discussing the patrols here for the job as a Huntsman was in charge of the group as I memorized where to locate them.
I mean they are at the center of the village.
Walking around for a while I began to see Shion Settlement I began to walk around the streets but also poor refugees in the area.
Hard to believe honestly seeing it all.
Usually, this would be from the screen but here it is in the open.
Kind of hard to believe but surreal honestly.
Still, the man that was with me did help me with some new clothes for these handy downs honestly but…
Shaking my head for a bit I kept my thoughts to myself for the time being as I began to see the Huntsman talking to the group as he noticed me, "Huh? Whatcha doing here kid? Ain't you with the rift raft scrounging for Lien?"
Raising my eyebrow at him I didn't bother to retort as I simply asked to join, "I came here to join –"
"Yeah no."
What?
My eyes widen a bit after the as the Huntsman began to explain why with a disgusted expression on his face, "Sorry but I ain't bringing dead meat around. No offense but you'll only drag the group down. Go off to where your kind is scrounging for Lien. We don't need outsiders like you around."
Excuse me?
Seeing that the rest of the so-called patrolmen laughed at me not giving no mind about me joining as a joke.
What the hell how…
Fuck.
Huntsmen and Huntresses are licensed elite warriors dedicated to slaying the Creatures of Grimm and whose duty is to uphold the peace of their world.
Guess this fucktard didn't get the idea of what a Huntsman is.
From just observing the guy I can tell he belongs to the second category of people like Cardin wanting fame or glory.
While some enter the Academies to become Huntsmen, many people enter them for ulterior motives.
One example would be Qrow and Raven Branwen who both originally entered Beacon Academy so they could learn how to kill Huntsmen since they were the only other threat to their tribe other than the Grimm.
Some students were also shown to not be willing to protect Humanity against the Grimm, such as Team NDGO who evacuated from Vale as they deemed it a lost cause as well as one of their members being willing to use a child as bait against a Grimm and traumatize them as a result.
Tch.
At least they could have fought and not run from danger it's their job.
Reminds of the scouts from Attack on Titan running headfirst into danger to distract the Beast Titan no matter the cost for Levi to go in to finish the fight.
Getting away from the group of them I was left with very little choice now to get a means of a weapon now considering the Huntsman in question was pretty much an asshole for not allowing me to join.
Fine.
Guess I have to settle with my chances with the people.
Not like I have much of a choice since I have the energy to spare but the most, I can handle for the time being is hurrying up but by myself carries a lot of risks to worry about.
What I need is a weapon a wooden one will do nicely if that's the case.
/////
The idea has soon to be very troubling that I can no longer get any help anymore.
Looks like the people in Shion didn't take it kindly to outsiders and made it worse than their breadwinner the Huntsman dissing me off doesn't help either.
It's like the social order that if the popular girl wants to make your life hell using the masses it would work here it seems.
Whenever I asked for information, they seem to give me the cold shoulder not so much of an answer or response.
I really don't get their logic here at all but the poor refuges did get me some insight as they are the ones to be helpful currently.
When I talked to them, I would most likely get shunned by the other people now that the people even the guy that I thought was a village chief wasn't one just a cautious person to see if I was a threat to their village.
Let's just say when I tried to crawl back reality was a bitch.
Can't even get a proper wooden weapon.
Without many choices here despite the safety this place provides, I wouldn't rather stay here for long to know what they did to outsiders.
Sigh…
Nothing is ever easy isn't it?
Guess my only option is to leave this village and hopefully be lucky in the next one while testing my luck in the wild.
Great...
